~READ THIS~(((The thread is hoping to see a visit from Heliotrope and a few other gems if it all comes together! I truly have NO idea where this thread is going to take itself, its really different than most threads up on the site, its for the expressed purpose of wingin' it!
I want to play with a rather chaotic idea here but it will require SPECIAL ATTENTION FROM ALL GEMS INVOLVED. Since the area is large, and parties are chaotic, I want to try opening up the thread to a NO POST ORDER. POSTS ARE NOT TO BE SPAMMED/AVOID DOUBLE POSTING, TRY TO BE NICE, AND ALL GEMS INVOLVED ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF THEIR POSTS WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE PARTNERS, AS WELL AS READING OTHER GEM'S POSTS, IN CASE ANOTHER GEM IS TRYING TO INITIATE CONVERSATION
Given that this is unorthodox, try to keep the posts about INTERACTION AND DIALOGUE rather than starting a hit-for hit- fight, although dance battles are encouraged! Trying to coordinate a fight in this setting will bee too cumbersome! So pair off! Dance, Tear it up! And keep track of the posts for the aforementioned reasons, and be willing to read from YOUR LAST POST before posting again, so that you don't miss anything! This will be glorious, OR a glorious disaster Ha Ha!
Also, in your posts, perhaps considering putting the name of any gem you're addressing in BOLD so that they can pick it out form the other posts, so nothing is missed by anything. Feel free to enter the party, or just sort of materialize in the crowd, having been there the whole time! Lay on Mac Duff.. Lay on!)))
Carbide reluctantly halted her bouncing spin, and teetered for a split second on her heel as she exited the makeshift dance floor, her bare feet once again finding purchase on the cool cement floor which was now...a riot of physical sensations on the bottoms of her feet, everything from concrete, to spilled vodka coolers and pop to crushed human glow sticks made the surface both slippery and sticky all at the same time. This gem normally had exceptionally strong footing, even without her boots summoned, but even being a polymorphic gem entity from beyond the stars, with an auto-adaptable projected body, she could still get dizzy if she danced hard enough.
Her hair jumped and waved with each heavy beat being pressed out of 8 foot tall stacks of speakers as she walked past, ducking, wiggling, and weaving through the crowd of largely human revelers. It was apparently the end of the summer season, and with visiting humans becoming less frequent, the full time residents of Beach City were celebrating their increased free time, and the end of the summer season, with a party at the derelict brick warehouse with a busted out wall, at the end of the beach, just outside town. Despite being officially an unused building, it seemed to her observations, that the structure still enjoyed a very active "under the table" style career, serving as a open space for the Humans to have fun, host events, and murder their delicate human brain cells with Ethanol infused aqueous concoctions of a dizzying array of flavors. She wasn't one to tell another being how or how not to wipe themselves out, so all was good. For a human settlement of its size, there were a LOT of people who turned out!
She stood head and shoulders above most every human female she saw, and a couple inches taller than many of the human males too, giving her a panoramic view of the inside of the structure, with its wide open floor, with food and drink table at one end, and a raised platform at the other, where human audio artisans fed LOUD "wubbing" music though the towers of speakers stacked in each of the four corners and a beer gardens outside. The lights hanging from the iron girders some 20 feet up, spun and shone with fierce neon colours and patterns that painted every figure in the place a different shade every few seconds. Factor in some sort of machine producing mist, and anyone would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a gem and a human, unless they appeared to have a chunk of rock sticking out of a very conspicuous part of their body.. and even then a tipsy enough human probably wouldn't notice it, or simply mistake it for a gaudy bit of jewelry
"Woah!... Eeep!.. Hey!... Watch-it!... Comin' through... Move it meat-sack!... THE EARL OF GREEN TROUSER CASTLE IS FOND OF REANIMATED WARLOCK CANTALOUPES!" It was great, it was SO loud , you could say anything you wanted and human ears couldn't reeeeeealy pick up on it, not that she was out to be mean, but being a lil silly was a nice change for "Supreme Duchess Sass-Cannons".. or whatever she wanted to call herself for the night! Carbide stepped up behind a human male in his mid 20's or so as he collected a pair of tall red plastic cups from a table laden with the things, turned around and and bumped right into her, the cups spilling a few good drops of the fizzy stuff onto her feet. Her hands grasp the cups and she makes a sweet face, while the human seemed to be making a series of clumsy apologetic gestures... "Awww ! For me?? Thanks!!" she hollers above the music and with a giggle that even she cannot hear, she walks towards the iron stairs to the catwalk that ran the walls of the warehouse, climbing the rungs and looking out over the scene of rainbow lights, humans enjoying their short little lives on a STUPENDOUS level with each other, she thought. "If eighty-odd solar cycles is all the lifespan you've got, I certainly cannot begrudge you humans this.."
Her grin was ear to ear as she drained the first tall red cup, which turned out to be some light ale that didn't exactly come across as high quality, but it didn't matter, she tosses the cup in a bin, and leans against the catwalk railing, nursing the second cup, looking out the partially collapsed wall that served as the main ingress/egress for the building, and took in the sight of the moon, huge on the horizon, lighting the beach and its campfire pits with their own attendees.. It was fun to just watch who might come and go..as the music played.. on..
".....The sun don't ask..The sun don't ask..The sun don't ask..The sun don't ask the moon if it can rise!..."
