Heliotrope smirked playfully, feeling more at ease that she made Carbide seem to calm down and open up again. Heliotrope didn't want to hurt her, her mission was to study and sabotage the Crystal Gems, and Carbide seemed to be more neutral in the whole account. But come the approaching war, she and all the other neutral gems would need to pick a side or be lumped in with the rest of the rebels by Homeworld. For them, it was either you were with them or against them. This was usually the reason Helio had tried to avoid Homeworld for as long as she had, but when they commissioned her for the job, it was either take it and be paid handsomely or be considered a traitor and targeted as well. Needless to say, the money helped greatly with the decision.
" Most gem tech is based around certain wave-lengths of energy. The more specific the wave-length the less likely it can be used by a gem that shouldn't be using it. But still with the right amount any gem tech is accessible or even breakable." Heliotrope had known this from example. Gem Destabilizer Prods were a common Homeworld weapon, able to stun or even poof a gem through prolonged contact. While dangerous to do so, Heliotrope could absorb then push back the energy put out by a GDP, but if she couldn't do it fast enough she would poof or even crack herself trying, so she would avoid it as much as possible.
Heliotrope flipped her hair lightly at the comment about her 'interactions'. Not many gems ever found a reason to discredit it before, usually just enjoying the sultry attention. But Carbide seemed far more intuitive than most gems she had to deal with. " Who says that's not what I'm trying to do? The Diamonds could use a good blush every now and then, maybe they'd understand why so many gems are standing against them." Heliotrope smiled and sauntered into the structure ahead of Carbide, letting her hips sway hypnotically like a pendulum.
Heliotrope began examining the mechanisms inside, she recognized many of them. Most was rather old gem tech surveillance and databases, which Helio had known a great deal about with her age and experience. But she couldn't let on just how much she knew to avoid suspicion, also she didn't want Carbide to know just how old she really was anyways. A lady's age is a sensitive subject, especially when trying to play the ignorant Crystal Gem.
