Carbide chuckles as Meta hoists herself up off her flattened out form, wincing sympathetically as she catches a glimpse of what was an unmistakable expression of a gem swallowing a big old lump of hurt, to save face. She suddenly felt a bit guilty for magically reinforcing her body like that. It had been a simple precaution after all, heading into an unknown location with an unknown gem. Had she known that this was a comrade of Meta Autunite she might have reacted somewhat differently, but it seemed to her that she had not yet done any permanent social damage with either of them..
"Rrf! Thanks, not quite what I had expected when I looked out that door.." She graciously accepts her host's hand in assistance, rising to her feet and dusting off a few bits of stone flake and dust from her back side. As she rights her own appearance she listens to Meta extol her intentions to Obsidian, waiting for her to finish before speaking up.
"I hope you're okay Meta, I should have gone a bit more limp before we collided, might have saved you some aches. You certainly don't lack for power output, I am well impressed." She looks apologetic but smiles somewhat as well.
"I don't mind giving the two of you some space should you require it. I'm only here by happenstance whereas the two of you seem to have a purpose to address." The heavy scout's gaze flits back and forth between the two. She wondered just how far back the two of them went. She knew that Meta was far older than she was, but she still knew relatively little about the age of the armored gem, Obsidian.

Obsidian found herself lucky that wasn't ambushed by the cretins that reside in The Kindergarten. "Interesting.... This area was crawling with those...monsters just awhile ago..." She pressed more buttons on her data pad, signaling her droids to activate their sensors by 25 percent, increasing their map grid a centimeter more.
Nothing came up.
Nevertheless Obsidian sighed, she continued her way toward the castle. She took inhaled deeply, holding it in for a while before she exhaled, once she blew out all the air from her mouth her face and composure completely changed, from being proud and fearless she'd purposely made it as if she was actually shy and scared of anything, given her gem body and with her droids surrounding her. She made it like she was hiding from someone, Her plan begins now.
Both of the his guests seemed okay after the collision. It did not surprise Obsidian, though. He already knew Meta was tough and Carbide definitely looked tough. He listened to Meta speak and nodded slowly. He looked from Meta to Carbide and back. Of course Meta was right, he had been withdrawn lately.
"I've a feeling for quite some time. It has gotten much worse lately. I think it's a feeling that humans refer to as 'feeling like a fish out of water.'" Obsidian said to Meta. That was the gist of it. He didn't feel comfortable going into more detail at the moment in front of Carbide. Perhaps if he knew her better, he would, but not at this exact moment.
Obsidian's eye caught something in the distance over Meta's shoulder. His gaze adjusted to look directly at it. The force with which Meta had opened the doors had caused them to stay partially open. Through the gap, Obsidian could see a figure approaching.
"I just formed this castle and it seems to be very popular." Obsidian said, nodding his head in the direction of the newcomer.
"It's perfectly fine, Carbide. The error was mine. I entered a situation with unknown variables hastily and paid the price for it. That's not something I do often, and it's not something I plan to do again for quite some time, after that little collision. I should be thanking you. You reminded me that approaching even daily life without caution can have consequences. Consequences that would likely have been far greater if you and I were not allied. And if Obsidian is willing to speak with you present, I see no reason to object."
Meta turned her gaze to Obsidian.
"I can understand that feeling, Obsidian, and while I question your choice on locating your new home in the Kindergarten, I fully support your decision to do what you feel is right for your own mental health. I only hope you will continue to assist me in locating and neutralizing corrupted Gems. I consider you to be a valuable member of the Crystal Gems. And.... My friend. I hope my recent singlemindedness hasn't made you feel as though I do not value you. And..."
After years, Shirley has returned to the Kindergarten of which she was formed. It certainly looks different without all the commotion and chaos. The atmosphere felt gloomy, but oddly warm. She wandered the maze of caverns looking for the hole she emerged from. But before she could find it, she saw a red glow. The glow was large, but she could not make out what it was. Curiosity got the best of her so she followed the warm light to get to a distance where she could see what it was.
As the red glow took shape she noticed a figure moving towards it as well. I has been such a long time since she had talked to anyone. She whimpered slightly at the though of being seen and rejected as she was used to from Homeworld gems.
She decided to walk more towards the side of the glow rather than straight at it. She was unsure about allowing anyone to spot her at the moment. She was not in the mood for risking a confrontation with another. She continue to creep along the walls of the cavern that moved in the general direction, of what now seemed to take the shape of a building. A glowing building? Now she must know what is going on so close to the Kindergarten.
((EDIT: I do have a small reading problem; so if i misread a detail let me know and I'll fix it as soon as I can.))

"I wouldn't worry about it too much Meta, you're a fair sight better to look at than some of the other creatures that have tried to drive me into the ground.. or a canyon wall, in the past.. Ooh, and you apologized afterwards as well." Carbide swivels her stance following the gaze of her host and Meta.. "It would seem we have company".. Meta's words hang in the still air as a the shadow of a figure approaches the far entry way. The figure seemed to be moving somewhat erratically, giving the impression of being skittish. An approach somewhat different to the entrances that she approached Meta had made. "Do you want me to check this out Obsidian? I know that this is your domain, but I am somewhat doubtful that whatever this caller has in store for me will be carrying as much inertia as your faction matron here."
She falls back towards the entrance a pace or so, leaning against one of the pillars somewhat. Her pose may look rather relaxed, however her positioning is a strategic one, with her back to the stone work she can be mindful of what's ahead of her and the gems behind her, one of which she knew was feeling a bit sore, her gem core backed up to the stonework meaning she had little worry for her own self.
"Something feels funny here" she muses to herself, her mild empathy capabilities not picking up a sense of urgency from the skittish figure, but rather...a strange..hunger.. no..an objective. She would keep an eye on whatever or whoever was coming . .."Ya know Obsidian." She calls back to the pair.. "An underground lair might had less...street appeal..If you take my meaning"

Of course for a great deceiver like Obsidian it would take a gem with a great keen of sense to even try to figure out what's going on with a gem like herself, she looked left and right, "scared" that theres someone out there who can attack her out of nowhere. The droids circled around her, protecting her from any danger that could present themselves, Obsidian stole a quick glance at the small gap between the doors that were left opened before.
So they are gems within the castle...possibility 2 or 3... i couldn't get a good look in there.. Just play it cool Obsidian and remember the painstakingly injury you had to take from that defect gem!!
Obsidian cursed in her mind, recalling the battle fromweeks ago, losing an entire arm and almost her pride as her loss from that battle...luckily her abilities granted her limbs back just by dumping her whole body into a pool of lava and just quickly cooling it.
I'll just pretend that i'm hiding from an attacker and gain their trust and if they don't believe me, well luckily for me while my droids were recording the whole event when i first encountered him and when i left him behind.
Obsidian grinned evilly in her mind as she reached closer to the castle, still putting up a very good act of being scared and whimpy, ect. ect.
Obsidian nodded to Carbide when she offered to be the one to check out the new visitor. It was not an unwillingness of a fear on his part, rather a strategic decision. Carbide had already displayed her resilience. Obsidian could come to her aid in an instant and he would rather be closer to Meta, since if things went very bad, they would have the option of fusion.
The newcomer had not come close enough for Obsidian to do a risk evaluation yet. Judging by it's movements from where he currently stood, it could be a corrupt gem, or a gem moving oddly. Obsidian chose to move closer to Carbide when the possibility of a corrupt gem crossed his mind. He motioned for Meta to follow. He kept a fair distance of about 10 feet between him and Carbide. This would mean if this gem was hostile, it would initially be force to choose who to attack first.
Soon, Obsidian could see that this individual did not appear to be a corrupted gem, she seemed to be an ordinary gem in distress. Perhaps she had been attacked by a corrupt gem outside. Obsidian immediately moved quickly toward the newcomer out of instinct. He stopped when he noticed the droids surrounding her. She was utilizing Homeworld technology, while this did not guarantee that she was loyal to Homeworld, it did make him more apprehensive.
Who are you and what brings you to my castle?" He asked in as soft a tone as he can muster. His tone may have been still a bit harsh though, since he was at this point starting to get irritated at the constant influx of visitors. He noted to himself that Carbide's suggestion seemed to have been the wiser choice for a place where one wishes solitude unless they invite someone.
Shirley watched as the other gem (Obsidian) approached the castle. When The assumed owner of the Castle (Obsidian, Magna) approached the gem and asked in a calm yet somewhat harsh tone what brought them to the castle, she tensed up a bit. This gem seems intimidating, but curiosity still had her, making her want to know more about the strange structure in the kindergarten. She moved closer, out of the shadows for a better look at the two gems who were still slightly bury from where she stood. ((she is near sighted)) She stopped about about 80 feet from the two gems to gawk at the castle. It truly was a beautiful and magnificent sight. She stood behind and roughly to the right side of Obsidian, close to the walls of the pathway. She wanted to get a closer look still but wanted to wait for the other gems to be out of view. She was still unsure about talking to other gems at the moment for fear of rejection or worse, being shattered.
No. She had to be mistaken. Meta held her tongue and was still for a second or so, then shifted uneasily in the air and folded her arms over her breast.
"I..... Know that Gem."
Her mouth twisted up.
"I've felt their energy somewhere before. At.. The party? This is very strange. There were many Gems at the party, but none of them match that silhouette. I didn't even think about the incongruency of the matter at the time....."
Meta paused another second, and spoke more quietly.
"And there's another Gem about too, I think. Hiding nearby. This doesn't bode especially well, Obsidian. Perhaps I'm merely being pessimistic, but this doesn't bode well to me at all."
Meta's moved forwards slightly, expression stonier than it had been seconds before.

This was This was a strange little stand off to say the least. Was it some sort of infiltration attempt? Perhaps a trick? Or maybe this dark slender gem really was in need of some help but, like Meta, what Carbide was picking up from the ambient emotions of all the gems around her, the whole situation felt like a shoddy built human structure of popsicle sticks and tape...ready to come apart at the slightest little breeze.
Her gaze floated back and forth between the entrance way left ajar due to Meta's ..efforts, where this slender gem now stood, and her two new comrades a few paces behind her. There was something about this gem, she DID looks somewhat familiar, the more that carbide thought about it. What's more, the Gem further off was giving off waves of what could only be described as curiosity, mixed with anxiety, hardly the emotional emissions of a gem to be feared.
Carbide listened as Magna addressed the quivering new Comer, not wanting to step on his lines or anything, it was his castle after all, but she murmers to herself none the less..."Yes indeed, who are you and why does it feel like we are in for a farce of a time?"
Meta seemed worried but she knew that the Crystal Gem regent was cautious and serious by nature, but still, her gem core pulsed quietly on her back, building up power in case this ended up going pear shaped...

"M-my name is Obsidian, i have crashed landed my ship weeks ago." She acted like she was truly afraid of "something" Looks like these clods are getting suspicious of me.. Obsidian frowned mentally "I've been attacked 3 days after my ship had crashed!" She stated her "distress" "I've been on the run for a while now and i need somewhere to rest.." She took another step closer to the castle with a frighten look. "If it's only for a hour please I beg of you!" C'mon these fools has to take the bait...
Her droids picked up on a gem (Spider) close by, vibrating slightly in midair as the automaton continues to follow Obsidian. Damn it...not now! Obsidian yelled in her mind "If you are worried about the droids i assure you these are for my own protection! They don't attack unless i command them to do so, Look i'll turn them their offensive mechanical system off!" She lied, grabbing the one that's vibrating and pressed it's outer body, with a strange pressing pattern what actually happen was Obsidian sent a signal toward the ship that a gem was near them. With the remaining scientist receiving the signal they sent three more automatons at the current location of the gem (Spider). The scientist set the automatons path away from the castle so they won't be seen by Carbide and the other residents of the castle.
"I just need to rest for a little bit, P-please don't harm me..." These are simply rejects! Stupid, old, and worthless rejects. Just take the damn bait already! Obsidian gave a look of pure as if she didn't bring any danger or harm to them, all she wanted was to inspect the castle without bringing any attention to herself and possibly capture a gem or two in the process.
Shirley continued to watch and listen. She was worried about the tall dark gem, she seemed frightened and concerned. She wanted to help but was still too nervous and wasn't even sure what she could even do. Sighing she slumped down onto the ground. Despite everything she was still useless and weak around other gems. Soon she heard the three automatons approaching her. She looked up with a smile to greet them. She felt better that they were not gems. She spoke to them in a small voice, "H-hello, I'm Shirley, a broken Cherry Opal." She stood to brush herself off and extend her arm "It's nice to meet you..." She said with a more chipper tone and a shy smile. She may have been worried about saying hello to the gems close by, but three little automatons were different. She felt more self confident and relaxed around them.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
