Demetry decided to use his time while his lady sequestered herself to contemplation to scope out some gem sites. It pays to be informed and with the mass of gems currently occupying Earth, there is a lot to know. Though difficult to get to the Sky Temple had become a local for gems since the fall of the kindergarten. Frequented by both sides a air of tolerance can be felt admits it's giant spires and columns. The pink hue of it's twilight sky hauntingly beautiful. Truth is without his lady by his side Demetry had little to do. He did not have her vibrant Independence... the rebels were... something to be envied in that regard.
Demetry moved onto a grassy knoll floating high above the Earth and lept atop a statue broken by who knows what. It resembled the visage of Blue Diamond. Having personally met all the Diamonds he found it adequate. "It has been some time since we were on Homeworld M'lady Tabitha.... I do hope you know what you are doing."
he traces his hand across the carved stone feeling the inlays. His visage something to be admired as the fluidity of gem gender washes unabashed on his form. There is a soft smile on his face as he crouches picking up a bird feather.
Inside the Sky Temple a lone Gem clad in a Red Robe could be seen, surrounded by racks of various weaponry. Picking out an old school blade wielded by the Samurai of old on Earth, Inferno swung it a few times experimentally. Slowly he began to let go, and start to 'dance' sword in hand as he continued his efforts to become more powerful with other weapons. His skills would need improved if he was going to have any chance of eventually putting together a team. Replacing the Crystal Gems wasn't going to be easy, but he knew it had to be done unfortunately as they weren't around to keep the town or anyone safe actually. A problem that needed to be rectified, as soon as he possibly could resolve the issue. Dummies lined the walls clad in black body suits. Some had been pierced with arrows or others had been impaled with spears while some had been cleaved in half. Whoever this gem was, he was serious about the practice he was doing.
Shedding the robe into the air, Inferno dropped the sword he had picked out. A ball of fire about the size of a Tennis Ball materialized in the palm of his hand as he'd hurl it at one of the dummies, completely incinerating them.
As Demtry stood back up he heard a clamor from a nearby room and he crouched leaping to an open faced window about 15 feet up in the same room. As he looked down holding onto the finely carved stone relief, he saw a gem cloaked in red brandishing weapon and flame with determination. His way was that of a man hell bent for a singular purpose; to which purpose could not be fathomed at a glance. Part of Demetry just thought it would be best to leave him to his own means; yet, the warrior in him was curious.
As a gem literally bastardized by Peridot science and made for war he was always enticed to see anthers skill. Demetry sat down remaining silent observing each confrontation this man had with a dummy. True it was likely adequate training it certaintly did not hold a candle to training with a partner. Though, from the looks of this gem he likely knew that. Which raised the question... if he was with faction or not.
After a round of impressive moves Demetry could be heard clapping from his perch with eye lids mostly closed. "Marvelous display my fine fellow. You have crafted thyself in such fashion to mimic your heart's tether. I do most enjoy your ability sir and hope you will pardon my intrusion on your training. I mean you no harm I assure."
Noticing someone arrive as he was practicing with his Fire abilities, Inferno looked at the individual for a moment. The person was a Gem and that meant he could perhaps be useful as a sparring partner. With that in mind Inferno examined the individual and then spoke to him for a moment. "Would you like to be my sparring partner?" Inferno's eyes lit up with power as he prepared to battle his newest opponent. Practice would actually help him become more skilled at his combat abilities. Learning to use them properly was going to be something he needed to do actually. After all he had a lot of skills he'd need to improve including his martial arts talents. "So shall we commence, in order to see what you are actually capable of?"
Demetry seemed to lose his smile as he lept from the open faced window. He took a moment looking to the gem that stood before him. He seemed to have no time for pleasantries or care for who he was. This gem clearly only wanted strength which no matter his intention meant he was likely formidable and dangerous. Yet, there was a time Demetry was like that himself.... though that strive for strength was beaten out of him in place of calm calculation. Perfection was what Homeworld demanded of him; but, this was not Homeworld.
"Well, that was a rather abrupt query. You know nothing of me.... yet wish to spar? To set oneself upon a situation like that so quick is to tempt fate. What if I were not of your morality and used such a thing to strike you in such a way to crack... or worse break you? Certainly you training cannot be valued above your life sir.... please let me slow thyself. My name is Demetry... I am an Owhyee Jasper, warrior class of Homeworld Academy under Yellow Diamond. Facet 3EE5 Cut 001." To any gem with basic knowledge a cut of 001 meant he was a one of a kind gem. A good look at his chest would show the malformed jasper gem... or at least that's how it could be perceived.
Listening to his opponent, Inferno examined him. So this was one of the gems from Homeworld. It was probably a gem who had gone soft and who was actually weak compared to him. In the long run he'd try his best to whip this Gem into shape but if he couldn't be disciplined into a skill level that was suitable, there were alternatives that could be used. "If you broke me there are probably Gems who could restore me nearby. But I trust you will not do such anyway. You can call me Inferno Quartz. " Inferno concentrated and channeled fire, forming it over both of his hands into a set of 'fire gauntlets' that he could use to assault his opponent. "So are you ready for us to commence? Choose your weapon."
All Demetry could think was that explains everything. The gem before him was a quartz. It meant he was entitled, much like his own lady. But, unlike his lady he seemed arrogant and was not listening to what he was saying in the least. He even had the look highers give to their lessers. Which meant one thing he was underestimating him. This alone angered Demetry though unlike other Jaspers fueled by anger, Demetry was not. "I see, your a fool. I am not interested in a duel with you. Though your prowess is clear... you do not value me as an opponent. You look at me in a way I find... unappealing. And lastly, though a quartz... you are not worth my time. Good day to you sir... I have little more to say to one such as yourself."
perhaps this was to harsh a thing to say to a quartz. If his lady was here she would likely scold him in some manner; however, Demetry did not appreciate the stare this gem offered. He had not left yet to hear the quartz out... he may still yet change his tune. Giving him the benefit of the doubt Demetry awaited his rebutle. After all Demetry was a decent gem in that regard.

Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
