The Story So Far
Prelude: Her First Colony
Thousands of Years, if not millions. Alien arrived onto Planet Earth and it Lunar Body. These Aliens, known as the Gem Empire had one mission, to establish a colony under the ward of the newest Diamond matriarch. Her Lustrous Pink Diamond. Up until this point Pink Diamond while being present but hidden away on Homeworld for hundreds of years, know for her grand and lavish Homeworld balls, but never been afforded the responsibly of heralding the expansion of the empire.
However the Colony was isolated, on the fringes of Gem controlled Space, resources were slow to gather, and construction was even more sluggish. Hardly one tenth of the intended construction was finished before we reached modern day. The Time though was not worthless, frequent bouts out to her colony, under the disguise of a Rose Quartz, made Pink realize the beauty and worth of the planet she would have a hand in destroying, at first her request to cancel the colony fell on Deaf ears time and time again. Be it naivety, optimism or just wisdom, with time an ill-tempered and sometimes childish Pink had matured immensely in that time frame, becoming something more akin to her Yellow and Blue Sisters. Still though her request was denied and she began to stop asking. She fought back in quieter ways, stalling, disguised as being methodical, avoidance, disguised as caution. This was the major reason the colony made so little progress, but progress, no matter how slow, was still progress.
Chapter 1: The Cut Off
“You do realize how crazy this all is right”
“We knew for so long what we, they were doing to the planet”
“Still if we start this, we have no idea what will happen, our current method, maybe it-“
“I can’t risk that it won’t lead to anything, I need to do this,but, you don’t have to be part of this if you don’t want”
“You showed me there is more to life then what we were, that here we could be something, I’m by your side to the very end, Rose”
Gems soon found themselves for better or worst stranded on the Planet, The communication hub was damaged immensely making intergalactic or even Moonbase communication near impossible, and the Galaxy warps lay in cracked and shattered pieces, and to make matters worse, those hiding in the kindergarten soon found themselves having to flee, as strange corrupted monsters began to prowl the area.
For two years gem were trapped on the planet in isolation, unsure what the next day would bring. For some a living nightmare, a constant state of fear of being attacked by monsters, the creeping dread of being abandoned by Homeworld, but for others, they saw the beautiful twilight sky as the sun set over the ocean, they stood in silence as the forest around them breathed with the life of the animals within. They watched a lone caterpillar form its cocoon watching for months until it emerge a brilliant butterfly, and They finally saw the same world that Rose saw. Not one of resources, but life and beauty, of change, of freedom.
Chapter 2: You have One New Message
Perhaps this was Roses plan all along, regardless near the end of the second year of isolation the long damaged communication hub crackled to Life, the Face of a Rose Quartz displayed on it, she explained that her group was responsible for trapping the gems on the planet. Not out of malice but out of desperation.In her story, she was a lowly quartz, like so many others, but she saw the life the planet held, its ability to change, to grow and realized a colony would wipe all that out.
For one extra Year the rebels were able to form and engage with those loyalists still trapped on the planet, But one stormy night High above the Planet a familiar Glint of Pink Legs landed on the Moonbase, and out emerged her radiance Pink Diamond, and her loyal Pearl.
Briefed on the situation Pink had a Task forced created to investigate the planet, and discover its isolation. The scouting party returned battered, but with potent info. Talks of a resistance, or a rebellion on her planet, things she already knew, hopes that ended up being true, but then things that shocked her, rumors of strange beasts attacking gems unfortunate enough to stumble across them.
With superior aerial capabilities, Pink kept the warps disabled, and as troops and teams were sent out t. The skirmishes and push and pull with the isolated rebel’s factions begun. The calm before the storm, though when the lighting will crash and the thunder erupt is still unclear.
Shocked by the revelation of corrupted gems on the Planet Pink had the Medical Centre on the moonbase expand underground, a large scale facility, designed to help Contain, Study and try and Cure corrupted gems, coming under the command, of the current Medical Centre Head Doctor and temporary leader of the moonbase in Pink Diamonds and her Pearl Absence, Euclase Facet 5A Cut-7AI. Still even with their resources the Moonbase Medical centre is no closer to finding out a cure for the corruption, and the fact Rebels have managed to overtake the Healing Fountain have not helped this matter.
For a few years Earth has sat in an uneasy stasis. Pink own court has managed to lock down a few footholds on the planet, but the rebels have equally managed to lock down areas of their own control. Everything else sits between times of small skirmishes and uneasy silences. With Pinks Hand forced she was finally required to take more significant action, to assuage the other Diamonds.
The only benefit Pink had was pushing the notion of smaller Skirmishes, and letting her set up spies, giving some precious needed time to let the rebels prepare.
Pink also announced as a Moral booster that for the first time since her occupation of Earth, she would be hosting a Grand Ball on Homeworld along with Yellow and Blue.
Chapter 5: The Ball
As lavish as it was grand, many gems found themselves in attendance, most loyalist, but some of the bravest rebels managed to sneak their way in. Truly though what overshadowed any other guest, literally and metaphorically, was the presence of White Diamond herself. A truly incredible sight for any loyalist, and a horrifying one for any defector. Still the cover of the Ball gave them exactly what they needed to complete their missions elsewhere, and they were one step closer to truly being able to fight back against the forces The Diamonds will send to Earth. Chapter: The Present year of…..2019
This is where the story currently is up to, a collection of Forces from across the empire are slowly bolstering in preparation for the Conflict on Earth. Pinks own forces has managed to establish several Strongholds on the planet, and the Rebels have done the same. Those other Gem control structures find themselves in a state of tug of war between rebels and loyalists, or find themselves as long abandoned due to the presence of other mysterious monsters*. Gems realize though that it’s only a matter of time before the spark finally catches and the fire of conflict burns brighter than it has before. The forces of Pinks collected Army are grand, and outnumber the Rebels, but make no mistake, The Groups of Crystal Gems are not just lying down, even outnumbered they will Fight, and a certain group of Crystal Gems has discovered something, something that if they can get working, might just allow them to even the odds.

The Kindergartens
Originally i had this whole thing on the site about the Kindergarden being very secretive, and that Gems didn't know that they drained the life out of planets, but looking back on it. Its a more elegant solution to go the way of the Show. Sure Gems know that they drain the resources of Planets, the ending appearances of the colonies shows that, but they are often time ignorant,unaware or uncaring of the value and quantity of the life they destroyed on the planet. A price that Rose Quartzs Transmission was trying to make abundantly clear.
Homeworld
Homeworld was the origin Planet of both the Gem Species and the expansive Gem Empire. The Planet itself host an Expansive Planet Wide colony that houses an innumerable number of Gem and Gem structures. An Extreme example of the type of resource acquisition gems used to expand, the Planet itself was hollowed out for resources, displaying a vast and ravenous network of Pathways and Pillars, littered with the Formation holes of gems. So drained of resources. The planet itself is only being held together by artificial technological innovations, and lacks any form of Flora, Fauna or weather systems.
Gem Society
In its current form Gem Society is an extremely utilitarian and aristocratic society, emphasising the importance of having a use and role that lends itself towards the benefit of the greater Gem Empire and more importantly the Diamond you are under. While shunning and looking down on gems who were unable to fulfil their intended purpose, due to incompetence or because they emerged, in Homeworlds classification, as defective.
Ruby: Rubies are considered low ranked bodyguards. Designed to patrol and work under aristocratic gems. They are considered somewhat weak, and are usually placed in squads were they are able to fuse to bolster their power.
Quartz: Quartz cover a large range of gems, but are most commonly Soldiers and Guards, designed to fight and work within the many armies of Homeworld, while common Soldiers like Amethysts and Jaspers exist, their also seem to be higher Ranks they can climb, as its stated that Elite Citrine Guards exist.
Bismuths: Are designed to be builders, helping Gem society construct structures and buildings, but considered low ranking in Gem society.
Sapphires: Are Rare, High Ranking and Elite aristocratic gems, who have the ability to see into the future.
Nephrites: Are Pilots, who seem to be in charge of the Large sized Colony ships that first land on new colonies. As in the show we see a Nephrite personally Speaking to Yellow, we can assume they have a fairly high ranking status in Gem society.
Lapis Lazuli: Powerful and likely somewhat high ranking gems who specialize in terraforming planets, and acting as couriers who can relay messages from their memories. They use their powers of water manipulation to do these thing.
Pearls: Are servants, who exists to be both a personal assistant to the gem they belong to, and as a fashion statement and accessory. They are also likely performers and singers, who may be responsible for plays and theatre shows.

Gem society is also massively technologically advanced, mastering hard light constructs, faster than light space travel, planet habitation and terraformation, among many other things, and while the architecture and temple like structures indicated perhaps in the past that Gem Society had a more pious culture. In its current state gem culture seems to be more aristocratic and dogmatic in nature focus on the idea that all gems exist to serve their Diamond, and that all Diamonds are perfect beings by nature. Ontop of the fact some Caste of gems are simply considered more important or high ranking and are given the privilege to be able to experience entertainment, parties and gatherings on Homeworld and all manner of Colonies the Empire has created. (IE Sapphires, Aquamarines and Jades).
Leadership
Now Homeworld seems to currently be run as a Quadarchy. We know from the show that the Diamonds currently rule Homeworld and various colonies with Yellow,Blue,Pink and White Diamond. All gems serve one of more of the Diamonds.Now these were also made before info about the Diamonds was revealed so the Diamonds roles on here are also different than what we have seen in the show, although its also a bit unclear on the show whether the Diamonds have divided up roles. Regardless on the site Diamonds 'specializations' so to speak, are this:
Yellow Diamond; Military: Yellow Diamond is in charge of the Military faction along with being in charge of the Homeworld Expansion program and the Kindergarten Placement Initiative. By Extension Yellow Diamond is the leader of hundreds of gem controlled planets and colonies. The court of Yellow Diamond is a dogmatic and militaristic court, consisting of many different type of soldiers,technicians and generals (among all her non combat and bureaucratic standard gems) all designed to defend and expand not only her own colonies, but the colonies of her fellow Diamonds. In this regard Yellow Diamonds court functions as a military of sorts, having members being called in when the standard soldiers of the other diamonds court may need additional combat gems during a expansion effort or operations, among other various uses in regards to warships and other technology.
Blue Diamond; Technology, Culture: Blue Diamond is in charge of most of the colony affairs regarding culture and tech. Although Yellow Diamond is in charge of the Kindergarten Placement, Blue Diamond is in charge of the Kindergarten Development sector. Most gems under Blue Diamond are engineers, developing tech and other gadgets for homeworld and her own and the other diamonds colonies, or they are politicians,aristocrats or gems in charge of culture on various colonies, some are even bodyguards for high-ranking gems. Although it is uncommon for Gems under Blue Diamond to be off world it’s not unheard of, places like the Lunar sea spire and other ‘tourism’ spots on gem controlled planets have gems under Blue Diamond's court working in them as entertainers or guards. and her own personal court may often make excursion to the other Diamonds colonies, a regal and aristocratic affair to form greater bonds between the high ranking gems of each Diamond's court. Blue Diamond like Yellow also has many Colonies of her own, with various soldiers,bureaucrats and technicians on them.
White Diamond; Elite: Unlike the other sub-faction gems under White Diamond lacks a traditional speciality, instead the gems created or indoctrinated into her court represent the most elite, either for being experts, hugely committed to a certain field, or being excessively adaptable to all situation. Most Gem under white Diamond have been shifted from one of the other Diamonds due to some factors which makes them a notch above regular gems.Gems formed directly for her court are very rare and are seldom seen. Many members of the White Diamond division have the logos of the other sub-factions as a badge of honour along with the their White Logo. White Diamonds court will often stay on homeworld, with only a handful being stationed on the other colonies.
Pink Diamond; Medical: Pink Diamond is in charge of most medical advancements regarding Homeworld/the colonies, and mostly specialises in combat medics or other aspects that help keep gems functioning at peak performance levels. They also move towards developing tech (In unison with Blue Diamond) to quickly and efficiently repair minor damage to gems to allow them to continue out in the field. Or in some cases, to find uses for damaged gems, such as powering machinery or artefacts. Pink Diamond has only recently just began her reign and as such only has the planet of the Earth, her first colony as the youngest Diamond. Her court is smaller then the other but is equally diverse, with a variety of gems of different roles present.

Fusion
Fusion is the Ability for two gems to synchronise their hardlight Forms creating a being that is a amalgam of the two of them. Two different types of Fusion exist. MonoType Gem Fusion:
When two gems of the same type fuse Ie Two Pearls, they simply create a larger version of themselves, with small cosmetic and personality changes if the two gems happen to be wearing different outfits or have greatly different personality.
InterGem Fusion:
Is Far more rare, and considered much more problematic in the Gem empire. When two different gems fuse together, the fusion takes on a whole new form, and a whole new identity, becoming more then the sum of its parts, a manifestation of the relationship and connection its components share.. It is said that while Monotype Fusion adds everything together, InterGem Fusion multiplies everything together. Making far more potent, but allegedly far more volatile fusions.
Corruption
A phenomena unique to and originating on first seen during the period where Earth was cut off from communicating with the larger Gem Empire, little is known about this condition, referred to as an infection, condition or more commonly as ‘The Corruption’ .It seems to afflict only Gems, distorting their Mind and Body, transforming them into what can only be described as wild monsters.
Their behaviour can vary greatly aswell, some are actively angry and aggressive, lashing out and anything and everything around them, others can be extremely passive, almost like they are in a trance to the world around them, and most are like wild animals, aggressive when feeling threatened or cornered but tame otherwise.
For most Gems afflicted with corruption it is a horrific fate, transformation times can vary but most gems ‘infected’ hardly survive more than a few days before turning, most are turned near instantly when they are first infected. Despite this the actual Mechanics of transmission of the infection are still a mystery, but on the Roleplay observed evidence implies that a gem being forced to retreat into their gem, due to damage inflicted by a corrupted gems attack, a Gem fusing with another Gem already infected, or a corrupted gem chipping, cracking or otherwise damaging a Gem Gemstone are all potential methods that risk (but do not guarantee) a gem becoming infected.
There have been whispers though, claims that some gems have witnessed other gems that somehow having full control and awareness both in and out of a corrupted form, however sighting of these gems is considered nothing more than urban legends, baseless rumours and as no concrete evidence of this has been recorded. At least for now.
Timeline
I believe that just about covers it for the general changes, so now to get into divergences between the shows history and the site’s history.
So the main thing I hammer home is that the Gem war 6000 years ago in the show has not occurred yet, the strawberry battlefield doesn’t exist and there has been no war. This is because two tiny decisions that spiralled in a massive butterfly effect.
1.Homeworld considered Earth a backwater planet and as Pinks First Colony, the Other Diamonds decided to not invest a huge amount of intercourt resources for gem expansion on it, letting Pink Diamond get a better perspective on how to manage her own resources without her Fellow Diamonds propping her up constantly, thus building of gems structures on the planet took way longer than it did in the show. This is why our site has the same amount of gem structures, despite having an additional 5997 years for stuff to be built.
2. Because of the above, Rose didn’t decide to rebel until 5997 years after when she did in the show. As stated this is because the expansion on the planet was far slower so Rose didn’t see the need to protect the planet until far later.
So the full Timeline goes as followed
• (Unavailable) Gems arrived on Earth, now it’s near impossible to pin down exactly when they came to Earth. Pearl mentions they were around when hunter gather societies still existed. This by itself is inconsistent though as hunter gather cultures have existed since 70,000 years ago and still exist somewhat today. Peridot’s line about dominant life forms seems to also imply that gems may have been present since when dinosaurs existed, which is between 230 and 65 million years ago. So basically gems have been around since before recorded human history it seems.
• (Unavailable) Over the course of several thousand or million years they begin setting up some gem structures, along with the warps. Only a small amount of resources are given to the planet though making construction a very slow process
• (4000 BC) Construction was going at a still slow pace. Blue Diamond and Pink Diamond decided to visit this new planet. An incident caused a Ruby and Sapphire in Blue Diamond’s court to fuse. Although she initially planned to have them be broken. Pink Diamond stepped in and requested the gems be kept alive and moved under her control, claiming that may open up some new medical possibilities for damaged gems.
• (2013 AD/2013): The Homeworld warps are mysteriously destroyed and the communication hub is sabotaged. Leaving all gems on Earth stranded. Along with this the ‘corruption’ begins infecting gems and turning them into monsters.Due to these events the Kindergartens are left abandoned,gems venturing out to find answers to the radio silence,or becoming victims of the corrupted gems that seem drawn to them.
• (2015 AD/2015) The Communication hubs crackles to life with a one way transmission. Rose Quartz sending out a desperate message to the gems on Earth, she explains about how she couldn’t stand by and watch another planet be destroyed and that she was responsible for the damaged warps and communication hub. Trapped on Homeworld to try and keep the warps down, she begs all those on Earth to fight and protect the planet, decreeing that all those who fight for Earth will no longer be shackled by their caste, but instead will be united under one name, the ‘Crystal Gems’ and marked with a star of the sky above. With that the message ends and Rose’s fate is left a mystery.
• (2016 AD/2016) Pink Diamond finally returns to her Moon base after some private business on Homeworld. When she discovers the communication and warps blackout she elected to send a small team to investigate. The team returned with the message of the rebellion stirring on Earth,explaining what has happened to the Earth in her absence. With a rebellion on her hands Pink Diamond elects to take it slow, keeping the warps down so the rebels cant reach her easy and bolstering her court with gems from the other Diamonds. Additionally she begins sending small teams of gems down on various missions,be it reconnaissance or rescue missions to help evacuate all the stranded loyal gems on Earth. This is simply the calm before the storm and its only a matter of time before the full war will ignite.
