Tiger turned her head towards the green lit engine, sparking with energy. Something had caused a disturbance. In other words, she had messed up. With a terrified and guilty face, she watched as the event unfolded in her small room of machinery. The engine started to make loud and heavy breaths, clearly indicating something was wrong. Or it had suddenly gained lungs, but Tiger wasn't about to take any chances. "Is everything okay down there?" A raspy and low pitched voice was heard from above the trapdoor. Tiger's panic levels were increasing. She had been discovered. Well, her failure had been discovered. Thankfully it was just another crew member. Not the captain. That'd make for some huge problems, as she was always suspicious of Tiger.
"Eh, uhm, yeah... I am just upgrading the engine! That's it. Nothing to worry about down here, heh..." Heavy and metallic footsteps would soon get more quiet as the gem left the area. Tiger was relieved, only to quickly realize that the engine was still under an intense limbo of being destabilized and stabilized. This was only the first phase, as Tiger knew it would get much worse the way the engine was acting. She approached the engine, grabbing her tools, and started to repair it using emergency spare parts.
"Apparently she's upgrading the engine. Whatever that means." The large gem replied, the gem opposite of him seeming rather nervous. "What? Upgrading it! IN THE MIDDLE OF A FLIGHT?! Is she insane?!" The thin gem replied, a feminine and hasty tone. "Don't worry about it, if anything goes wrong then-" The large gem was cut short by an intruding white gem. With a rather slim body shape, there were white crystals growing all over her, almost like a sickness. "FACET 7G12A! I want explanations. RIGHT. NOW." The white gem did not hesitate with her words. She spoke in a peremptory manner.
Tiger sighed in relief. The engine was working again, and the noise had stopped. But then, something rather unexpected happened. She got up, and not only would the engine break once more, but this time the whole room started sparking of energy. Something had clearly restarted the destabilization, like someone just pulled a lever. Tiger had no spare parts remaining. This was it. In the last moments of the engine's life it gave off a fading ominous hum, followed with a short yet loud explosion. The engine faded to black. The green energies sparking were getting weaker. "I always did want to go out with a bang." Tiger said to herself, imagining what planet they would crash on. Their chances of survival, her chances of survival, the ship's chances of survival. All three of them were pretty slim. She hung her head, watching the floor beneath her. She then looked at her boots, realizing something. She could escape. She could survive. Who cares about those other three gems, anyways?
The thin gem jumped, being surprised by the sudden voice of her captain. "C-captain! Yes captain! Tiger is what appears to be upgrading the engine midflight, captain!" She replied, only to be followed with a sound of explosive origins. The ship was clearly without an engine anymore. The lights turned dark. "That piece of dirt… Her incompetence has doomed us all." The white gem spoke, looking down towards the floor. "Follow me unless you wish to die." The captain said, motioning her arm upwards then downwards into the ground. Chains of white crystals would dig through the floor of the ship, leading a tunnel downwards right into the machinery room.
Tiger was already on her way up towards the trapdoor. Noticing the familiar white crystals, and hearing a call of her name from the captain herself. They were going to kill her. They were going to cut Tiger’s life short by a few minutes as punishment. Tiger quickly hurried up the ladder to the trapdoor, being chased after by the three other gems. Closing the trapdoor, she pushed a nearby heavy create over the trapdoor to stop them from opening it. Tiger ran towards the control room, seeing this strange blue and green planet outside the windows. Water. There’s still a way she could save both the crew and the ship. Hopefully they would get over the whole "destroying the engine in the first place" thing after hearing the good news. Tiger steered the ship as best as she could. Due to her only seeing the dark side of this strange new planet, she had to be careful to not mistake the land for the water. The ship had already entered the atmosphere by now, and was burning up. It was getting warm, but started to cool down as she could finally see the water with a detailed perspective. "Oh god, we’re headed straight for that tall blue structure… Let’s try and steer this away-"
Tiger was cut short as she was pulled away from the pilot seat, thrown to the ground like a pebble by the giant gem. "Nothing personal." The large gem said, moving away as the captain approached her. Tiger was nervous. The thin blue gem was just staring, hoping that nothing violent would take place. "YOU." The captain said, intimidating in nature. "Do you realize what you have done? We are on a collision course straight towards Earth. And it’s all YOUR fault." The captain concluded. Tiger was shaking, but managed to get out a few words. "It’s alright, it’s alright! ...I steered the ship towards the ocean, w-we should be fine!" Tiger said, trying her best to not meet the white gem’s gaze. "Haha, “the ocean”. Yes, of course, we’re fine. Nothing to worry about." The captain said in an unnervingly happy tone. "Except for that we will be stranded on the bottom of thousands of meters of water." The white gem quickly added, looking towards the window and the incoming deep ocean. She hadn't noticed the small island yet that they were more likely to collide with. Tiger quickly stood up in the small timeframe she had, activating her jet boots as she flew straight through the roof window. She had escaped as the gems had been caught off-guard.
Upon escaping the ship however, she was not able to steer her boots. Tiger would be able to stop her momentum tremendously, watching as the ship would crash into the sand next to the blue tower. It was gem architecture. That means there must be warps! She could easily escape now. All she needed to do was remove any witnesses, and she could continue on with her life. But that would include going back into the now wrecked ship… She sighed moments before she crashed into the sandy ground, able to survive due to the now almost stopped momentum. Still exhausted from all of those events unfolding at once, she took weak steps towards the ship, hoping to find an entrance. The ship was emitting a dark and thick smoke, which means a beacon for any life that would see it. Tiger would need to do this quick if she was to make sure of the gem's deaths. To think a gem like her had already killed three at such a young age.
