The Kindergarten was an ominous terrible place, reinforced by Rose Quartz's message. But even though many gems cower from it, Apache strangely always found herself drawn back to it despite being so much more cowardly than other gems. Perhaps it was the negative aura around the place. Perhaps it reminded her of the Kindergarten she emerged from a long time ago, despite this one specialising in Quartzes. Whatever the case, the extended time she spent around the place almost made it feel... comforting? Apache shook her head, standing up from her spot on the cliff and surveilling her surroundings before sitting down again. She had to stay alert. The negative energy of the canyons also drew corrupted gems, and if she were not careful she could easily be cracked or poofed. Shattered, even. The holes were not an option to hide in; it feels like an invasion of privacy to be poking and looking around in them.
A rare filament of sunlight flared briefly though the permanent clouds clustering above the canyons, briefly reflecting off something shiny on a cliff face. Now that was odd. That was not from an injector, so what could it be? If it were a corrupted gem, she had to stop them before they reformed. Apache briefly hesitated before jumping down from her sitting spot.
"Hmm... its really been awhile since iv been back h-here..." the soft mumble came from the hooded figure walking the the large valley, also know as the Kindergarten. Not the one on Earth he was bore from but... all the same he feels more at "Home" here then anywhere... never stepping foot on his home planet. He came to take Earth as his new home but, he cant help but wonder what his life would have been like if he had made it there. He had come here this time to try and sharpen his skills more... plus it had been awhile since he had done something stupid and got into a big battle.
Dressed with his normal human style clothing, green hoodie, opened reveling a purple tank top under. Black shorts down to his knees with black sneakers, the kicker? His hue was this tan color. Almost human shade so most just assumed he was a human, until they saw his gem that was stuck away under his hood... or maybe just had an eye for gems? Even seeings his bright neon green hair or his just as bright neon green eyes. He was pretty oblivious to anything to high up from the ground in the valley, he was kind of just waiting to see if a creature would pop out or... burst from under the ground and send him flying... again.

It didn't take a lot of wandering before Apache realised she could hear someone else's in the Kindergarten. Was it a monster? She hid behind a nearby rock to wait for the figure to approach first. Two features became apparent: green hair and green eyes. No doubt this was another gem. But maybe he saw the flash as well and wanted to investigate. He couldn't be a Homeworld gem with such Earth-like clothes; maybe he was a Crystal Gem trying to annihilate others. Would there even be any non-threatening ways to approach? After considering her options, Apache decided to stay where she was, the tone of her dress sort of blending in with the surroundings, and just see what the green gem was up to first. If he was a threat, she would just slip away before he notices. Then the ground shook at the anticipation of some larger gem monster.
It had been pretty peaceful for most of his little walk, kinda made him feel a bit on edge just for that fact. Then he felt it... a rumbling in the ground, it made him stop in his tracks as he turned to look behind him. He was not disappointed by doing so, barreling down the center of the valley and seemingly to aim at Variscite was this large, red rhino looking gem monster. Dropping his hood down and reveling his slightly glowing green, hexagonal cut gem embedded in the back of his neck. Not really saying much or moving much, his hand rises to the back of his neck to grab at the ring that formed from his gem.
With his fingers curled around the ring he pulls as a chain is formed before stopping short of something, on the other end of the chain. With another good tug out popped a rather large crystal ball around the size of a beach ball only... far more dense and totally not full of air. The ball drops to the ground at Variscites side with a heavy and audible "THUD!" as it makes contact with the dirt below his feet. "RRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEE!!!!" the creature bellowed out with this fuming rage behinds its cry.
"Heh..." with one arm Varis began to spin his ball and chain around faster, and faster, until it almost seemed unstable at how fast he was spinning it. Dust was being kicked up from the wind rushing off from the spinning mass, the corrupt gem now only yards away when the ball detached from the chain and was flung with incredible speeds and rock shattering force. It wasn't the first time he had fought a corrupt creature like this... many moons ago he fought one with the help of two other gems, he had grown far stronger since then... the gems he fought with had vanished.
His crystal ball makes contact with the beast... HARD! The ball hit its mark on the nose... literally and knocks the large creature nose up for a moment before it drops back down onto its back, shaking the whole valley for just a moment. The crystal ball sat unscratched a few feet from the point of impact with the rhino creatures face, Varis stood still... waiting and ready to see if the creature will give up yet or not.

Apache watched the gem fight, slightly impressed but unsurprised by his skills. It was obvious that he was only here to train. On the other hand, the gem monster he was facing seemed to be one of a more tenacious type. It shook off the damage, ready to charge again. If this newcomer wasn't treating the battle seriously, he could be hurt. But maybe she could do something. The corrupted gem had long claws, after all. She peeked around her hiding spot, deliberately creating a small chain of glass around the corrupted gem's foot as it charged forwards again. The monster was caught off guard, tripping over its sticking foot and stumbling to the side, it's momentum broken. Apache suppressed a smirk as she hid behind her rock again. If things went well, that would have seemed natural and she wouldn't be spotted.
The chain rattling off itself slightly as Variscite laid over his right shoulder with his hand still gripping the ring. It seemed the creature was not read to give up on the fight just that easily, Varis whipped his chain causing it to slash at the ground, kicking up dirt as he took a defensive stance. He was about to charge the creature himself to make this a close quarters combat scenario when the beast stumbled over! For once the screw up WASN'T him! "Ha!" He took advantage of the corrupt gems fall and by giving his chain a little flip, the dense crystal ball began to roll before quickly taking off towards the Rhino gem and slamming into its under side.
Giving the creature a little wave with his free hand before the crystal ball detonated with a forceful explosion, the whole crystal ball going off like a shrapnel bomb. Hopefully was enough to poof this creature.... if it survived he would almost feel compelled to let the thing go, thats rather impressive!

The corrupted gem was badly wounded, but Apache knew they were going to stand up again. There were still not enough shots on the soft spots in the gem's hard shell. Taking advantage of the thin veil of dust stirred up by the explosion, she created her own glass shards and struck them into the corrupted gem's weak spots with accuracy that surprised herself. Another small round of projectiles from an angle that the green gem cannot see, and the corrupted gem's form poofed. Leaving behind its gemstone and shards of glass that definitely did not look like those from the green gem's weapon. Whoops. Knowing that her cover could be blown soon, Apache inched past her original hiding spot, trying to gently creep away before being noticed.
Varis had started spinning his chain around his hand, was this thing going to get back up? His swinging of the chain started to speed up, the shards left over from his blast pulled themselves back together into a perfect ball form once again. As the creature poofed the tall gem let out a soft sigh, "Hm... not even a ch-challenge..." He started to step closer to the gem's corrupt core. The gem had a rather nice red shine to it in the light but... the black infected the core wasn't easy to not see.
Thats when he noticed the other glass shards along the ground, kneeling down and grabbing a glass shard with his free hand, "Uh.... maybe I had help?" He mumbles softly to himself before glancing around a few times, pulling his hood down so he could see better. No one really coming into his view right away he plops down onto his butt, dust flying a bit more afterwords, "A-Anyone else here? Maybe we can...." he trailed off as something higher up caught his eye. A few moments of sunlight that had broke out from the cloudy sky, reflected this shining light there was something up top of the cliff.
He drops his chain onto the ground, it poofing, along with the ball near the corrupt gem core. Quickly bubbling the core in this shiny neon green bubble, he stands still looking up at the cliff face, bending both knees as he took the pose of an old friend, then shoots himself straight up the cliff wall! Almost passing the shining object embedded into the cliff. His hands gripping onto a open hole in the wall face, hanging down right next to the shining object. Holding himself up with one hand while the other one grabs the thing in the wall and trying to pull, "Its... er... in there pr-pretty good!" He grunted trying to pull out the shining thing.... the ledge he had grabbed onto seemed to be crumbling slightly...
"Almost..... ugh!" With one good yank the object had been pulled out, though Varis was unable to keep his grip tight enough on the ledge. His fingers slipping off as he dropped from the ledge, "Oh shi-!" The fall was pretty short as the gem slammed off the ground with a rumbling "THUD!" that filled the valley. There the tan hued gem laid on his back, with an item in his hands that clung to his chest.
Apache stopped in her tracks when she heard the other gem, realising that he didn't come after her. That was a nice thought, knowing he wasn't a hostile gem as well as a fighter. Then, the shiny thing gleamed again. But before Apache could begin to start finding a spot to climb, the gem shot up, evidently taking the object from it's spot on the wall. Apache grimaced, realising that now the only way she could find out about the thing was to interact with the gem. Well, at least most gems she came across before were friendly. There was a thud as the green gem hit the ground. No way to turn back now. "Are you alright?" Apache asked quietly as she approached, surveying the gem and the object. The gem seemed to be fine; he looked like he wasn't cracked. The object seemed to be some sort of flask with a broken chain. It would have looked normal other than the large, shiny purple gem on it. An artefact.
Bumble Bee Jasper stumbled into the Kindergarden, her eyes flashing as she snarled savagely. She groaned and fell as her back enlarged grotesquely, two ragged shapes forming before being sucked back in. Bee clenched her teeth, trying to force away the sickening feeling that was threatening to consume her. Sh had to find that Gem... And fast. There was a thud. Bee's head quickly turned towards the noise, and she immediately went to investigate. But as she took a step forward, two insect-like appendages suddenly burst out of her midsection. Bee yelled in pain and collapsed, but forced herself forward, using the legs to propell herself to go faster. There. There she was. That little runt of a Gem who healed Bee's corruption last time. "Youuuaghhh!!!" She tried to say, but a pair of mandibles sprouted from her mouth, slurring the word. She was corrupting fast. Bee scuttled to the small, grey Gem, ignoring the other Gem who had fallen. "Youughh..." Bee growled. "Heeal... Meeeghhhh!"

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
