The air was still and a calm, perhaps a little too calm for a forest at night. Insects had ceased their nightly summer songs, the very air itself seem to grow hotter, like the trees were collectively holding their breaths. From high above the land there was a sudden orange, fiery glow, at first it looked like a glow from the heavens...until it started getting closer. The sound of dying engines rang out over the land like artificial music. An observer would have noticed that the object falling from the sky was not a meteor, or pieces of a satellite or even a space shuttle gone wrong... Bits of flaming metal broke free, burning through the air and raining down like hellfire, a symbol of what was to come.
The silent night of the columbian jungle was disturbed violently as the flaming death crashed! Trees snapped and broke like simple twigs as the ship itself met them head on, nearby trees fortunate enough to not be hit simply swayed with the direction the craft was plunging, or set aflame, or both. Dirt and dark green grass shot into the air, the ship tearing a great ravine into ground as it slid along, whatever animals were out in the night scattered and fled as though their very lives depended on it or were frightened enough to flee their nighttime nests and hindig places. Birds cawing and squawking and their wings flapping madly to get away from the foreign, offending object.
At last the ship came to a halt, beneath the lip of an overlooking cliff. Its nosed buried in rocks, flames flickering and dying. Smoke wafted from the metal, making the air feel thick and harsh. The ship lay unnaturally on its side, it was sleek, built to move the depths of space and virtually any planet with ease. But it was just an illusion; an attentive observer would have noticed, the ship was clearly built from other parts. It was a desperate atempt, the Frankeinstein monster of the shipkind; built from stolen parts of several different planes, cars, ships, and so on... ...it was a miracle itself, that monstrosity could take off! Its fate was inevitable One jet stuck out freely, the other buried in the ground on its right side. The faint clicking and hissing sound of a door closing and opening could faintly be detected if there were anyone brave enough to approach the crashed ship. One thing that most animals shared regardless of species or location, they knew when curiosity did or did not benefit them. Curiosity at the moment was not in their best interest. Anything living that was close by ran like the Devil was to burst from the "ship". They'd be half right...
The door continued the partially open and close, endlessly attempting to completely the task of which it was built for. A hand, dark and powerful, stopped the door. Another hand gripped the opposite end and with a push, the door was opened. Smoke wafted out of the vessel like a steam room, the figure's hands precisely began to haul itself up. The head rising up first. Like a demon rising from the deepest circle of Hell itself! The face was covered by an expressionless deep gray mask. Cloaked, hooded humanoid, with long grey hair and silver eyes, in a mask; dressed in black, with his gem, a dark smoky quartz, a Morion in the middle of his chest Without any diamond insignia He was unharmed by the brutal crash landing. A mixture of a hisses and a growls rumbled quietly from the Gem's unseen mouth as he surveyed his surroundings. It was night, and it was calm. For now. He looked around... so much for the test flight. But the Blodstone planted the seed of curiosity last time when they have met. There was a possibility, the Diamonds will... wait. Months. Years. Decades. Even centuries... It was logical to try this, build some kind of ship, that capable of leaving Earth The Assassin stole the parts, the pieces... but he was not a Peridot. Morion's skills just weren't enough to build something this complex. And now? Crashed, like a meteorite... in the middle of the columbian jungle. The Smoky Quartz decided he will do a bit of scouting first before cannibalize the "ship" for some useful parts... He had no intention of staying on the planet for long, but it didn't mean he couldn't amuse himself for a little while. With the favorite past time of a predator Gem A Hunt
The Smoky Quartz shapeshifted to the form of the big, black (alien) feline ( closer to a Thanator than an Earth panther, but close enough), one of his favorite forms, and sneaked in the shadows Between the trees and bushes, hiding in the darknes, under the cover of the muggy jungle night Silver eyes noticed a little settlement; it was a fishing village Well, village was a bit strong word for it... On the banks of the river Rio Magdalena, it was just a nameless settlement; maybe it was or wasn't on the maps, who knows? Some small shabby huts, a tavern and a pier, all built from driftwood and and some metal, that used to be a larger fishing boat. The only interesting thing was a young lad, 17-20 at best, some sort of a sentry, armed with bow and arrows, a spear, and even a gun! The silver eyes watched the would be prey from the darkness, wondering, maybe this human will provide some entertainment...?
The human was slenderly-built, tall, but have his fair share of muscles. Long dark hair in a ponytail; only in a torn trouser; old and worn, but enough for this climate A bow on his back, and a quiver. A spear, with metallic sharp end, it was like a harpoon. And a gun on his side. The lad was a fighter or a hunter, that was obvious to the Smoky Quartz; maybe had some formal military traning too, who knows, but Morion doubt it. It was possibly just plain adaptation to the enviroment, the jungel after all is a dangerous place! So the human was a sentry... the Assassin looked around; a defender human. Cute. Defending the others. Like the Rubies protecting the Gems like the Sapphires or Peridots The Gem slowly lowered into the dark waters shifting to a more... practical form for this little hunting trip; remained humanoid, but from the waist down, eight powerfull tentacles... The Prey noticed the brief glow in the water, jumped on his feets, nervously watching the river, searching with his flashlight for anything unusual.. ...but he saw nothing, just the reflecion of the Moon and stars; the tentacled hunter was already under the surface, swiming silently closer...
It was the thrill of the hunt that drove the Smoky Quartz This human was... interesting! A Sentry. A Defender. A "knight" in a sense. He was the Quartz soldier of the Humans. Protecting the weaker members of his kind. The Assassin watched from the darkess... The little human colony wasn't too interesting, twenty people at best. Most of them older than the Sentry... as far as Morion could tell, for him, the Human's aging and life cycle was a bit foggy... but Morion have seen enough world, enough species and could tell his prey was in his prime, while the other was older, some of them was elderly, some of them was fat... But there was one... one human, a female, that was in the same age. A bit younger, and not a fighter. She was... well... she reminded the Gem of the Pearls. Cute and pretty, with one purpose: to serve. Of course, Human culture was a bit different. But this female clearly belonged to the Prey. In a sense, she was his "Pearl". The girl brought him food, they chated in their strange language... Morion was a skilled infiltrator, so piking up, learning languages was nothing for him... the Assassin simply didn't bother to listen and learn this language. But it was natural for him, so he already could understand some expressions, some worlds, phrases Then they hugged eachother and... kissed Anger boiled in the Smoky Quartz And more than Anger... it was hate. The Crystal Gems took Demetry from him... denied him of at least some, just a little happiness And if he must suffer, humanity will suffer with him! This human particularly! The Assassin already had a plan, how to "play" with his prey, but after seeing them... it was a bit personal. Morion watched the female as she departed... left the Sentry, their so-called Protector alone in the night The Quartz came here to Hunt, for some entertainment, a little sport But for a good fight, he needed to "preapre" his prey, he was well aware of that... And he had a plan! Smooth voice whispered in his head:
Morion watched the young human female, the "Pearl" of the Sentry... and silently followed her in the dark, murky waters of the River, the Rio Magdalena. The girl's home was a shack, built on the water, like the most of the "village" The Smoky Quartz swum under the misrable hutt, between the stakes; the building was supported by six of these, the most of the shack was above water; only the porch was on the muddy riverside. Bridges connected most of the hutts, made out of ropes and boards, but for some reason, the girl's shack was "alone" Only the porch connected it to the village She calmy walked in the night, humming a romantic song (as far as Morion could tell from the tune) enjoying the view of the star filled sky. It seemed, they didn't saw the crashlanding... tho it was far away from this little settlement. But who knows, maybe just postponed the investigation to another day, to the morning perhaps. Actually it didn't matter to the Smoky Quartz He watched the girl, as she walked in to her little home... ...but on the contrary of her belief, she wasn't safe And this was the sweetest part of it; it was ideal to agitate and torture the Sentry whose job would be to defend her To make him play... The Hunt is more challenging and more interesting, if the Prey is driven by something more than simply survival instincts Not to mention, the Smoky Quartz was envious, jealous and angry because of his prey's happines, the fact, this human, this vermin had something Morion did not. Love... Tentacles slithered up on the stakes, the colums of this misrable shack... the Assassin silently climbed up to the curtain covered window under the cower of the muggy jungle night, in the pale moonlight...
The Smoky Quartz peeked behind the courtain. The young female just closed the door, turned on the radio; with rocking waist she danced, hummed... started to undress The Gem climbed in silently, watched the girl... but soon broke his silence; he heard the song somewhere, but it was... fitting
"Pink cheek, that rulest Where wisdom serves!"
One tenctacle caressed the terrified girl's face; while the others grabbed her legs, arms, waist... dragged her closer
"Bright eye, that foolest Heroic nerves!"
Moiron hold the female's face in both hands, his silver eyes met with hers
"Rose lip, that scornest Lore-laden years! Smooth tongue, that warnest Who rightly hears!"
Caressed the terrified girl's lips with one finger
"Thy doom is nigh. (Pink cheek, bright eye!) Thy knell is rung, (Rose lip, smooth tongue!)"
The Smoky Quartz filled the small shack with smoke, hiding them His voice was just a whisper
"Thy doom is nigh, Thy knell is rung...."
Moiron sung with silky voice
"Pink cheek, bright eye! Rose lip, smooth tongue!"
The Assassin gigled a little
"Thy doom is nigh... Thy knell.... thy knell is rung!"
The rest? That was easy... One by one, the Smoky Quartz visited the humans He was silent and efficient, Death in a cecaelian form; slithered on his eight powerful octopus-like tentacles, silently, under the cover of night... from one misrable little shabby shack to another Playing a deadly hide and seek with the Sentry His prey was aware - at least subconsciously - that something was not right... but it was late in the middle of the night, he was tired and sleepy... but continued his vigil. He had no idea, one buy one, he was loosing his friends (or at least fellow villagers, they were not necessarily the Gem's Prey's friends, but at this point, Moiron simply didn't cared) When the Sentry relised, something was wrong... ...it was too late The young Human's anguished cry filled the muggy jungle night
It was quite enjoyable Hunt... ...well, for at least the Smoky Quartz Playing deadly hide and seek with his Prey, the young human lad, the Sentry Slithering to one shack to another, hiding in the murky dark waters of the Rio Magdalena, sneaking in the shadows and the darkness of the muggy jungle night, amongst the ruins of the dead little settlement His prey was challenging! Driven by anger, hate, desire to revenge... all these mixed by the survival instinct have made the Human something that Morion could almost respect! He was a claver one! And relentless... Chased his own hunter through the ruins of his former home, while his dead friends were watching! Used sneaky and clever traps, weapons After an hour or so, the whole village - well, at least what's left of it - was in flames Dancing shadows and crimson flames filled the night sky with smoke The Sentry's last-ditch effort was a suicide run, to lure his hunter, the Monster in a trap, playing the bait, well knowing, he won't survived... but that point, he haven't got anything left to lose It was quite fascinating for Morion, the Gem learned a lot of things about the humans, and what are they capable of, when forced to... Still considered them vermins, but potentially dangerous vermins It was time to finish it, end the Hunt, claim his trophy, and return home... well, at least to his base, the millenia old Derelict The Smoky Quartz emerged from the shadows and smoke, roaring fire around them, crumbling ruins; slowly the river claimed everything that remained of the settlement The exhausted human was lying in the mud, lost his gun, it was useless anyhow... his bow? It was broken. The spear was consumed by fire. The Sentry was defeated and yet still... he doesn't give up! He was trying to fight! Desperately trying to find anything, anything that could help, could be used as a weapon against his foe, as the Gem slowly "walked" closer on his eight powerfull tentacle, rised his scimitar, to cut his prey down... The Human found someting! It was a big broken shard of glass... the desperate Human tried to use it as a shiled Then Morion saw it... ...himself. It wasn't just glass It was a broken big mirrorr It was... frightening. Terrifying! The reflections... the Mirrot, that cursed mirrior! Every voice in Morion's head was screaming, bellowing and howling! With a terrible roar, the Gem plunged himself in to the flaming river, and swum as fast as he could... fleeing before the mirror, disappeared in the jungle, in the night Dawn has come... the human survived Slowly he crawled back on to his feet, shaking. He survived... this time But he know very well, this wasn't over... and maybe one day he will have his ravange Wiping his face, his tears, the young lad turned, picked up a broken branch to use it as a crutch... and slowly limped away, along the river, holding the broken shard, that saved his life, so strong it was cutting his hand, covering with blood. I he survive his way back to civilisation, they will meet again! This Hunt wasn't over yet!

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
