Name: Chyrsocolla, but goes by Melody for simplicity’s sake
Appeared Gender: Female (But is willing to change to male if necessary)
Appeared Age: 21
Gemstone: Chyrsocolla
Gemstone Location: Two, one on each upper forearm
Corrupted:(Y/N) Nope
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: None
Appearance:
(Appearance is in the profile picture. Best I could do ^^' )
Personality: Melody’s a very kind gem most of the time. She’s also a bit…obsessed, narcissistic at times in that she will gladly play her music no matter what the circumstance is. Despite that, she will help anyone she considers her friend and bash anyone’s face in that criticizes her. She’s a leader when needed and is a good assistant when not. Before coming from Homeworld, she tended to stay loyal to her friends or leaders in the case of White Diamond. Unless there was a very good reason, she would not leave a gem's side in battle or out of it. However her personality will turn angry when anyone says that she is a horrible performer. On Earth her narcissism is toned down but still exists, so essentially if you criticize her music at all she will deliver quite the amount of pain.
Likes/Dislikes: Music (Basically any type), Singing, Playing her guitar, showing off her talent
Fears: Losing her skill of singing, performing badly, being viewed as a failure, anything involving her being sub-par
Weapon: A battle ax with string’s attached that can substitute as a guitar, or turn into a regular guitar. Basically picture Marceline’s guitar from Adventure time, pretty close to that
Ability 1: Musical Performance Powers. With Melody’s musical prowess, she can play (Or simulate, whatever you prefer) any type of music on her guitar and have it sound just like the original. With each type of music she plays, the effect varies on the surrounding people and gems.
For example, if she played something similar to the blues it would cause enemies to feel negative emotions and not want to battle, seeing how there was no hope in their mind. They can still battle though, but will feel more passive while doing so.
Gospel music: Will motivate teammates or nearby gems who she chooses to play the song for, and give them a bit of a positive boost in battle but no actual physical boosts.
Classical: Can heal minor injuries a gem recieves but is unable to heal anything that would cause a gem to poof.
Rock: When played, it gives the attacks a gem has more impact, making it easier for opponents to be knocked back once hit.
Jazz: Can be used to relax a gem, but can be ignored or overcome when used in combat.
Romance: Can be played as a support song for fusions, allowing them to stay together for longer periods of time in the case of temporary fusions (Instead of the usual six posts...or whatever the usual amount is, the song gives it a two post boost and a time limit of 8 posts)
Ability 2: Sound projection. Melody is able to project sound waves in various forms. She can use sound waves to form a shield of sorts, similar to the shield that Rose Quartz can do. Melody is also able to send out sound waves as an attack, if needed by singing at certain pitches for certain strengths, the higher the pitch, the more strength the attack has.
Fusions: None as of yet
History: On Homeworld, Melody was one of the special soldiers for Homeworld. She was used as a bard of sorts, able to heal and give confidence to her allies. In her off-time as a soldier, she often performed tunes and recited poetry for any gem who wanted to listen. She was taken into White Diamond’s court once of age and after serving Blue Diamond long enough, being able to perform for her whenever called up. If nothing else, she was a court musician, which she grew fond of. Eventually Melody was sent to the Sea Spire to perform for gems who came to visit. When Rose Quartz's message came through, Melody grew frustrated but calmed down the more she got to perform for others. As long as she got her music out, she was happy no matter how bad the situation was. She stayed at the Sea Spire, assuming that passage to Homeworld would be restored at some point after the cutoff occurred. When she eventually realized that she was wrong, she walked over and took the warp pad to locations unknown, or in this case Beach City. She would wander around, learning the ways of the humans to some degree but staying secluded, picking up on tunes when she could. She still performed, one of the few ways she could interact with the humans
Character Arcs: Melody, during her time on Earth, will have to come to terms that she’s not always the star of every show. Even though she enjoys helping sometimes, not everyone wants to listen to her music. She’ll have to realize that the best tunes, metaphorical and literal, take time, and time is what she’ll need to decide what kind of gem she’s going to be
