Name: Blue Topaz
Nickname: Taz, Bluey, Topaz
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 20
Gemstone: Blue Topaz
Gemstone Location: Back of right hand
Corrupted:(Y/N) N
Appearance: imgur.com/sImOdpb She stands at 5'6" tall.
Personality: Taz is an unusual Gem. She is a happy, energetic, friendly person. Yet, once she has a mission or job to do, she becomes a stern I-do-my-job kind of gal. She simply wishes to get the job done as efficient as she can and doesn't tolerate any silliness on a mission... Except she is quite dramatic when she is required to fight. She is also quite protective of the injured, regardless of their affiliation. Topaz simply believes that if the injured survived a fight, they have the right to recover regardless of who they fight for or against.
She also very much enjoys humans, amazed by their innovations and odd behaviors and, while she has no particular desire to protect them, she also sees no reason as to why they would need to be destroyed and, in fact, enjoys taking notes on human culture and behaviors. She fancies herself a "humanologist" despite other Gems being far more knowledgeable than her.
Likes/Dislikes: Human-watching, having a job to do, friends, dramatic flair in battle.
Fears: Corruption, Cracking her Gem, spiders and scorpions
Weapon: Morphic Ribbons, up to three tendrils per handle. (can range from soft as silk like dance ribbons or razor blades for fighting) Maximum length of 4 meters (aka 12 feet, roughly)
Ability 1: Wavelength Manipulation: Within 20 meters of her, she can turn all light into different wavelengths, but only between infrared through the visible spectrum, and into ultraviolet. As a result, she can theoretically "darken" the 20 meter range by turning the light into an invisible range or make one killer lightshow. Duration ranges from a few seconds (such as in combat) to several minutes (casual situations).
Ability 2: Invisibility: As a consequence of her Wavelength Manipulation, she can also turn herself invisible by becoming infrared or ultraviolet light. When just casually using it, she can maintain it for an hour, but when under stress (such as observing or spying on potentially dangerous people or Gems) it lasts for 15 minutes (or 3 posts). If in direct conflict, such as combat, she cannot use it at all without great strain on her body (with a duration of a single post). If damaged or struck while invisible, even by a simple bump by a passerby, she is rendered visible immediately. Also, while invisible, she exhibits detectable tendencies matching her current mode. ie, IR sensors can see her while infrared and she gives off heat, and UV sensitive materials will glow when in UV mode.
Fusions: N/A
History: Taz was created using an experimental process involving inducing radiation to her Gem during incubation. As a result, she went from a colorless Topaz to a blue one. It also gave her the Wavelength Manipulation ability due to her exposure. Thanks to this new ability, she was tasked with reconnaissance and espionage by Homeworld, through which she learned to master her powers. However, she was then sent to Earth as a form of test, specifically to perform reconnaissance on the humans. However, during her recon... suddenly the Galaxy Warp was disabled. She didn't find herself concerned, though. Either Homeworld would repair it, or she would find a ship to go home... But couple of months into this cutoff state as she observed the humans, she encountered a Corrupted Gem resembling a scorpion that ended up poofing her. Her gem fell into a river and was cast adrift in the sea, until she recovered months later. It took her so long to regenerate due to the shock of facing a MONSTER scrambling her up a bit.
Rising from the sea after spending a further few months returning to land, she just sought out a place to stay and began observing humans again, after having realized that Homeworld was not coming to save her.
Fascinated by their culture and technology, she took to serving as a bit of a casual scientist of humans. Though, she does feel slightly abandoned by Homeworld and as such, has decided that her loyalties do not deserve to lie with them exclusively. She is, however, unaware of the Rose Message, having been wandering the seafloor at that time.
