Melody smiled as she hummed to herself. It was all supposed to be a normal night. The former performer and guard of the Sea Spire had developed, at the very least, a hobby to keep her busy during the time she would be on Earth. Given that her love of performing had not stopped, she decided to play around at the local bar in the town she had drifted to. As the Chrysocolla heard a rumble in the sky, likely a sign of a thunderstorm on its way, she walked inside to the sound of familiar-ish voices. At the very least they were peaceful ones. She did note, however, that the rumble had shook the rack full of beer and shot glasses. Even though she was still not the biggest fan of being around humans, it was still nice to be on any form of stage. She smirked as she walked up onto the stage with her guitar, or rather her guitar battle ax. As she set up the humans all seemed excited to hear her perform, she had slowly managed to earn a reputation. She took various requests as she got playing through the night.
Eventually she hit a point where she decided to “jam” out on her guitar, much to the applause of the audience. As she played up to a point where the peak of her solo would come out, fate decided to play its own note. Lightning from the aforementioned thundercloud struck the lighting rod of the bar and apparently amplified the strength of her notes. The result sent out a booming shockwave from Melody’s guitar, shattering glasses and knocking the majority, if not all of the patrons over (as well as making some of them temporarily deaf in one or both ears.) She winced as she felt a piece of plaster fall onto her head, shocking herself and hurting her a tiny bit as well. “Ow…” She muttered and stood up after a few minutes. In the meantime, the sound traveled out of the bar, causing a few car alarms to go off as the power to the building goes out…and the one next to it…and the one next to that one. The power to the whole block was out! “Oh my…I’m so sorry!” Melody said as she got nervous and started to freak out a little. The gem decided to take her chances and grabbed her guitar, running outside into the street before any of the bar patrons decided to get angry at her. She noticed how there was some dust from all of the surrounding houses, likely due to the fact that the shockwave was only so calm, and totally not one that caused property damage.
“I gotta get out of here, and fast!” Melody ran out into the street as some of the bar patrons stood up, appearing to gather their footing and slowly recover their hearing. Chrysocolla knew she had to go hide until everything calmed down but where? She hadn’t been that familiar with the town and most of the townsfolk had a good idea of where she lived anyway. The singer took a second to look around and gather her bearings. From the indication she had gotten earlier the shockwave probably would’ve produced a sound loud enough to hear on any end of town, considering that Melody wasn’t exactly in the biggest town. She decided to start running as she navigated her way past some of the emergency response vehicles that had driven up to the site of the accident. Hopefully, if she ran up to any gems, they would be nice ones and NOT ones that would want to possibly hurt, torture or kill her considering what just happened. Melody hadn’t had an incident like that happen in a long time anyway…what a way to start a night.
