The figure strode through the field, the knee-high snow being pushed away as the white colored Jasper dredged through the frozen landscape. Behind her was mountains, ahead of her was forests. It was a beautiful world, but.... But it was lonely. She craved companionship, but at the same time she felt like if she interacted with gems again, there would be conflict. It didn't help that it had become more difficult to summon her weapon, and using the warp pad required extreme concentration.
It was a hard thing to think about. She longed for company, someone to talk to. But at the same time, thinking about the conflict and the fighting it would cause just hurt her gem. Taking a deep breath, she strode through the same old forest as she had hundreds of times before. She had almost memorized the location by this point. Over to her left was a warp pad that was rarely used, and to her right was nothing but trees.
Straight ahead was a cave. She had fashioned a base of sorts out of it. She had used wood to cover up the entrance, and had lined the interior with things that would make it feel better to live in. She was no Bismuth, but she was proud of what she had accomplished. It was her home away from Homeworld.
She wondered on what had happened since she left her post that day. Had the Kindergarten continued to operate? Was she just replaced with another, better Jasper? Most likely. She felt like a defect after all. A dull gem when she was meant to be sharp. Jaspers and Quartz were meant to be soldiers, yet look at her. She couldn't fight. All she could do was bash her shields against whoever aggravated her.
She didn't have the tact of other Jaspers, the lean fighting style or the tactical brutality of her fellow gem cuts.
But at the end of the day, she was who she was. She would have to live with it, whether she wanted to or not.
