Name:
Citrine
Appeared Gender: Male
Appeared Age:
24
Gemstone:
Citrine
Gemstone Location:
Forehead
Corrupted:(Y/N) N
(If Corrupted)Monster Form:
Appearance: Since I can't seem to draw what I'm imagining Citrine to be like, I'll write it. He has a fairly average head, with the head's color being a very pale yellow, while his hair is a very golden yellow, and is spiked up. (He's a quartz, so he has a lot of hair) He also has an orange scanner right next to his eyes, which are very narrow and thin, and, combined with his small nose and mouth, always give off a very serious or sarcastic look. The pupils of said eyes are black, which makes them more contrasting and piercing, especially when his face crinkles slightly in analysis.
His head is directly attached to his torso, which is similiar to Garnet's in shape, but is instead orange. His limbs are like bamboo branches, long and thin, but yellow, and his hands are made up of a circular palm of orange and yellow digits, which are also long. His feet use a hemisphere of orange to connect five digits, and his elbows and knees are also circular and orange. He is actually very small for a Citrine, as he came out a runt, but still looks somewhat stocky.
Personality: Citrine has a personality not too different from Peridot, but with a few changes. Citrine always uses analysis, speaking in very tactical terms and always planning and thinking before every move. His over analysis of everything is not his only well-known trait, with his sarcasm and lack of any other humor making him somewhat dis-likable. He, however, does not mind, and acts very cold, especially for being so closely associated with fire. He is a tactical mastermind, which allows him to get an idea on the best maneuvers in battle.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes wealth, propriety, and anything that tests his wisdom. He also has an admiration for people and gems that use their brains above their brawns or guts, which also works in reverse, with him hating people who don't value their brains above the rest of their traits. He despises simplicity, such as fast foods and suburbia, and hates when a fight is restricted to basic combat, instead of tactics or genius.
Fears:
Defeat of any kind, Gems considered better then himself, especially the Diamonds.
Weapon: Citrine only has one form of weapon, a Quarterstaff, which is golden in color. Citrine is able to wield this long weapon at a very fast rate, using it to disarm other gems and maintain distance if a fight goes sour. However, unlike most gems, Citrine won't use his gem weapon as his main form of combat, instead relying on his abilities.
A specialised ability that you have, eg. Garnet's lightning manipulation and Lava Immunity or amethyst's cloud creation or Lapis's control over water. You get two of these put there names here but put the details in the below section
Ability 1: Creating Fire. Citrine can create fire and shape it into different forms of attack, from a large fireball to a steady beam. However, this ability works exactly like creating a fire in real life when it comes to location and condition, since, if Citrine is wet, in a cold climate, or very exhausted and out of energy, the ability won't work. It is also good to note that this ability consumes energy very fast, and, although this Citrine's favorite form of attack, a Citrine that did not come out a runt will instead use close combat.
Fusions: None as of yet.
History:[/b] Born in a far-off kindergarten, Citrines were made to be successful. This included being successful in combat, adapting to succeed in any role given, and succeeding in mastering abilities and weapons very fast. However, this Citrine was created incorrectly, and a runt. Hence, he was instantly rejected by Yellow Diamond, and only accepted when Blue Diamond saw how culturally involved he was. Apparently, his databanks and knowledge has been increased beyond a normal level for Citrines, making him an expert planner and a genius that Blue Diamond constantly asked advice from. Although not her closest adviser, he was one of her best, which made many of her other advisers jealous. However, they knew he was also a very skilled gem, and could probably best most of them in combat. So, they manipulated a few other Citrine to eliminate him, which included shattering him. As soon as the Citrine's came, he only held his own for moments before being defeated. Being a relatively young gem, he was not very acquainted with colonized worlds, and warped to a random one, which happened to be Earth. The Citrines followed him, and a new chapter of his life began.
While he was being chased by the Citrines, Blue Diamonds advisers had twisted the tale into antagonizing him, and making him seem a traitor. So, Blue Diamond increased the search for him, hoping to make an example of him. As soon as he realized the numbers increasing against him, Citrine decided he needed more allies with him. While he ran and searched, he realized the beauty of the planet, and eventually met its dominant inhabitants, the humans. He eventually befriended one named Brenda, who let him hide in her home as the Citrines looked for him, eventually, over-passing him. The two developed a great bond, but Brenda grew old, and he never seemed to. So, she eventually died, and, he came to her funeral. The moment was what really changed him into a Crystal Gem, as it filled him with emotion and admiration for the humans. So, when Rose disabled the warps and shut off Earth, he wasn't upset he was on the planet. He was joyful, since now he had a new life. All he had to do was eliminate the Citrines and find the Crystal Gems.
As he meandered the world, he soon discovered that the Citrines had left the planet a while ago, and he had no immediate threats. So, he searched tirelessly for the Crystal Gems, and recently has discovered the Crystal Temple. Although he has not officially been inside it yet, he lives nearby, and, hence, is currently mustering up the courage to enter it. So, he waits, and prepares to defend the world where he was accepted for what he is: powerful, but a runt.
Character Arcs:
The most important arc for him is to eventually assume a very important tactical role for the crystal gems, starting from him befriending some of them, to him becoming their master tactician. While doing so, he needs to come to grips with who he is, and maybe, while doing so, discover a method of defeating greater foes. I hope to see him build a great bond with at least one member of the current crystal gems, enough that they can fuse. This arc is really him searching for definition, since Homeworld rejected him in the two he could have had. This would be a very massive character arc, instead of a short one.
One nice mini arc for him would be a tension building between him and other quartz that are loyal to homeworld, with them constantly curve-stomping him, and him only getting saved by the other Crystal Gems. I could see this play out in two ways: one, he beats them through very, very, very superior planning, or, on a stranger and more Crystal Gem-like note, through fusion. (I know this may sound polarizing, but I have to side with Jasper in that its really the only trick the Crystal Gems in the show know.)
Another arc that would be a little bigger for him would be how he tries to find a definitive answer to corruption, and hence, try and find some way to cure or prevent it, whatever it be. I'm sure someone is already working on that, but, he could use some bonding moments, and what better way to get to know someone then by curing what is essentially the gem equivalent of cancer! Whatever it is, I think he honestly could take this up in order to have multiple qualifications for the crystal gems, whether they need him for research, combat, or strategy, allowing him to take up a role that isn't as common, so we can get some diversity in the Crystal Gems.
