Early in the afternoon the dock was quiet, many of the sailors coming back from their early fishing expeditions. All manner of boats filled the moorings, ranging from row boats to full on tug boats. Despite the inactivity a single slender gem was sat cross legged on one of the many walkways. Her posture said plenty about her, back straight and with her shoulders wide. This orange gem was intently observing the ships docked with the harbor, her eyes scanning across the outline as if it were a type writer going left to right.
As her multiple eyes scanned the flotsam her hands moved around in a elegant dance of sorts, light extending from her two gems into the miniature shape of a ship. Aside from her arms and eyes she was perfectly still, seemingly oblivious to her surroundings. Of course an observant gem would notice that of her five eyes, the middle one (highest on her face) was looking separate from the rest. This eye went from watching the ship she was creating to looking around her surroundings. Then all of a sudden she stopped, all five of her eyes slowly turning down to her creation as he hands flipped it around. A look of dissatisfaction came across her face, "Hmm, shoddy work..." And just like that she tossed the unfinished creation into the water, immediately starting on another attempt.
As part of her brand new, self-proclaimed, part-time job as a spy, Turquoise spent a lot more time these days trying to look for rebels who weren't too close to their temple. Sometimes this meant she'd lay down on top of a grassy hill near Beach City, while taking in her surroundings. But other times, this meant she would skate over the sea, not too far from the city. that way, she was just close enough to see what was going on along the shorelines, while also keeping out of sight for any gems that happened to be bad at keeping an eye on their surroundings.
So while Turquoise was speeding over the water near the shores of Beach City, she suddenly noticed an orange figure on the docks. Opening up her blue glowing, holographic screen of her wrist tech, Turquoise started to slow down. Holding the screen in front of her eyes, it zoomed in on the docks. When Turquoise had the gem in her sights, she started to slow down even more; the glow around her feet diminishing as she lost her concentration on her powers. As she slowly sank into the water, Turquoise tried to identify the gem sitting there in the distance.

After feeling refreshed after his visit at the Lunar Sea Spire, Moonstone decided to go to the docks to relax. He was riding his hoverboard, then it suddenly started to smoke. The hoverboard was starting to lose altitude as he was approaching the docks. When he got to the docks, his hoverboard managed to wedge itself between two wooden planks on the docks. That sent him plunging face-first into a yacht with quite some force. He then fell into the water. He fell in not too far from Turquoise or Para, but he landed in an area that they couldn't possibly notice him. The impact of the collision rendered him unconsious as he started to sink to the bottom of the ocean. The hoverboard was still smoking, but not as much as it was before. It was a good thing it didn't catch fire.

Seemingly oblivious to everything occurring around her, Para continued her construction of a ship replica. Indeed wasn't a good few minutes later (after another few 'failures') that she did actually finish. Para held the recreation in her hands, flipping it around so that she could examine it thoroughly, admiring the details she had created. And just like that she tossed it into the water along with the rest of the models, standing herself up and stretching herself to full height, "Well that served as excellent practice to occupy my time. Now, what next..." She turned and scanned the docks, looking for another object that would catch her eye(s), her gaze falling on a gem a short ways distance into the water.
It confused her for a moment why, not so much how, a gem would be out in the open waters. That was until she realized the gem was actually observing no one else but her. She raised a single eyebrow, aware this gem was probably too far to actually easily hear her. Instead of confronting the gem she decided to test their intentions, turning as if she was observing the boat next to her. As she ran her hands over the bow, and the majority of her eyes scanning over the seams, her main eye kept watching the slowly sinking spy.
It appeared that the gem was creating prototypes, no, models of ships. So either this gem was a rebel, or a very ineffective Homeworld gem. There was no reason to make such small watercraft here, unless some higher gem would show up right now. And it seemed like that wasn't the case. Sure, the final result of her modelling looked impressive enough, but that didn't mean it had any reason to exist, much like many of those rebels.
Once she felt the water touch her chin, Turquoise quickly kicked her feet a couple of times, pushing herself up on top of the water. Looking back up at the gem on the docks, Turquoise spotted one of her eyes looking at her. Being sure her cover was blown, Turquoise's feet stopped glowing, and she dropped into the water. Her eyes peeked just out from the surface, staring back at the gem.

Having regained consciousness, Moonstone looked around while underwater. The salt water hurt his eyes a bit. As he looked around, he could barely recognize Turquoise. He also spotted his hoverboard on the dock right behind her. The hoverboard started sparking a bit. It also started smoking more. Knowing that his hoverboard is overheating due to the wires being cut and they touch every once in a while causing dangerous surges, he knew that Turquoise could be in possible danger. But he went through some possible outcomes that can either make or break how Turquoise thinks or feels about him. Then he realized that he HAD to save her if a fire were to start. He then hid behind a boat and watched the gems quietly and stealthily.

As much as Para was enjoying the sudo-staring contest she had got herself into she couldn't help but notice the sight of smoke rising from nearby. Hesitating for a moment, she concluded their stand off with a 'wink' (something difficult to tell with so many eyes) and turned towards the source of the smoke pillar. Not a minute later she came across the discarded and broken hover board. She raised a hand to her chin, looking over the damaged tech, tutting now and then, "Such poor design, and on such an inefficient means traveling. Who would use such an item..." Sparks flew harmlessly off her visor as she took a closer look. Para took a final glance around, seeing if the owner of the vessel was around, before leaning in and getting to work.
A good minute or so was spent simply observing the board, noting the sparks coming from the interior and the small plumage of smoke rising up from the rear. She also noticed the board itself was hammed into the floor, as if it had failed and rammed into the docks front first. A simple enough fix, requiring just a few parts to be reinforced and put back in place, "Hmm, whoever did this clearly has no understanding of basic circuitry management. Not to mention their mediocre use of piping. What is this, era one? Ha... ha..." Having a rather dry laugh to herself, she began to work. Her hands danced around the board in a blur, creating and welding parts back into place. Soon enough she took a step back and admired her work.
Plucking the board from the floor, she tossed it onto the ground and let it do the rest. With her new modifications the board activated immediately upon nearing the ground, its gem-tech power source turning on in almost complete silence. Of course anyone who could see the board would easily notice the newly glowing light coming from the underside, but other than that the board was almost a stealth vehicle. The idea almost made her laugh, almost. To think anyone would actually use such an object. Still, she did work on it so... She picked the board back up and carried it at her side. Whoever had it before clearly didn't want it. Now, where was that nosy gem...
When the orange boat maker had the audacity to wink at Turquoise in the middle of her spying session, the sea-green gem gasped offendedly, accidentally filling up her entire mouth with sea water. She spat it out and started coughing, as her face filled with disgust. Quickly, Turquoise wiggled her glowing feet to get back on top of the water. Once the gem with too many eyes turned around and walked off, Turquoise skated elegantly over the water to the safety of a docked boat. A few moments later, she was holding the side of it, whilst wiggling her feet to stay out of the water.
As Turquoise was getting ready to continue her spying session, she heard the orange gem talk to herself. She knew this was her queue, since this meant the orange gem too busy with that "mediocre piping circuitry" thing. Slowly, Turquoise stuck her hand out from the corner of the boat, while keeping herself out of sight. The glowing hologram around her wrist tech folded out to a flat sheet and started recording the orange gem.

Hearing the orange gem criticizing his work as mediocre did offend him. And seeing that Turquoise occupied the boat next to him, a cold chill ran down his spine as he was afraid that Turquoise was gonna spot him. He then came out of his cover from the boat in a way that Turquoise can't see. He then pretended to be oblivious to Turquoise's existence. He approached the orange gem and spoke. "Hey, I know this work is mediocre, but there were some resource limitations. The hoverboard that I created malfunctioned which caused me to lose altitude. When it hit the ground, it wedged between two planks in the docks. That sudden stop sent me flying face-first into one of the boats with great force. That caused me to lose consciousness. You did a great job fixing it though, so you have my thanks. Oh, and it also folds for compactibility. It was a pleasure meeting you. Oh, I also forgot to introduce myself. I am Moonstone, but you can just call me 'Moon'. Can I please have my hoverboard back?" he said politely.

Para was almost surprised to be approached by this gem, looking around for the one she had seen previously. Nowhere to be seen, almost worrying. She returned her attention to this gem halfway through his shpeel, "You say this was yours?" She raised 'an eyebrow' (both on one side of her face), "You'd do well to ramble less, language is an art in itself you know." She didn't await his response, "I suppose a gem without skills like my own would be limited greatly, so I will let the quality slide. And hello, 'Moon'." She inspected the board for a moment longer, fiddling with the ability to collapse on itself. Eventually she did actually hand it off to him, "Well done on the utility. And you are welcome for the repairs, consider it a favor. So Moon, I am curious as to your reason to bring your crude vehicle to these docks. You certainly must have been in a rush to leave such a job done." She gestured again to the board, not one to get off the topic easily.
When Turquoise heard Moonstone's voice, everything in her body stopped for a moment. After their incredibly awkward first meeting, Turquoise had hoped to never hear or see that gem again, but it seemed like there was no escaping him. At least she was sure he hadn't seen her yet, so she wouldn't have to deal with his nervous ramblings and unnecessary flirtations. So as to not give away her location, Turquoise kept her arm in place, making the holographic screen peek out from behind the boat as it recorded the interesting gem and the Moonstone.
When she heard the orange gem mention the Moonstone's rambling, a smile covered Turquoise's face. She had trouble keeping herself from laughing, as she mentally thanked the gem for finally saying the thing that had to be said. Rebel or not, this orange gem had just become Turquoise's best secret friend. Now, if she'd only punch that Moonstone in their face, that would be just perfect.
Post by Yellow Peridot on Sept 10, 2016 1:09:29 GMT
Yellow Peridot blew her hair out of her face as the salty wind blew. Her ship was not too much farther away, and she managed to keep out of view from the public. She knew if her ship was in view by any other gem, they may try and take it and shove off into space, and it was not the day for that. Especially since she made all those modifications to it for reasons she didn't wish to think about. She was obsessed with shattering that damned assassin. It didn't irritate her that he made plans to rnslave the human race. She might've done the same thing sooner. But what struck her was that she knew at one point, he would try and sway Bloodstone to become just like he was. She did care for him, but she also feared that he would turn against her, as a crystal gem or an assassin. Why couldn't homeworld have kept her where she was?
Peridot then saw three gems as she began to walk across the dock. She hid as fast as she could behind one of the large floating ships, and looked out from behind it. She saw what seemed to be turquoise, which she had met at the Kindergarden. She seems nice enough and didn't consider her much of a threat, since she was considered lower than Peridot's on Homeworld. She then looked at a new gem, which looked very diamond like, with fancy clothes and hair. Though she was much smaller than them, so she simply labeled her just another gem. She then shifted her eyes to see Moonstone. She immediately recognized him, as he was the gem who had committed some sort of crime back on Homeworld. She had seen him in the forest and lost him in the cave she looked for him at. She found this as an opportunity. She sprung out from her hiding spot, moved her enhancer forward, shifted her claws into their second position, in a blaster like fashion, created an electrical sphere at the end of it and said,"Nobody move! Especially you criminal scum!" She aimed her enhancer right for Moonstone, threatening to shoot him with the blast.
Fearsome Warrior and Technician of Yellow Diamond.

Moonstone, chuckled a bit at Para's comment on how much he rambles. "Well, I do tend to go off on tangents, but please forgive me for that. I am not really good at talking to others. Humans call this 'social anxiety'. I just wish I could talk without being awkward." he said as he sighed at the end. "Thanks for the compliment about the utility. And I wanted to go to the docks just to relax." he said with a warm smile.
Suddenly as if out of nowhere, Yellow Peridot came out of nowhere and pointed her enhancers at Moonstone. He immediately stuck both of his hands up into the air and he was surprised. He scoffed at her accusation of him being a criminal. "Oh please, don't tell me that you were that other gem that attacked me. I bet you were eavesdropping on that conversation that I was having with Bumble. Well, you can't prosecute me for destroying my own work. Also, I became independent like a gem named Octi who is a Bloodstone. So, do you have any objections?" he replied.

Para's eyes scanned over Moonstone as he continued on, passively noting his dimensions and 'equipment' (clothing). Like many gems this gem was not without his quirks, a common trait in gems. While they were designed with the utmost care, almost every gem has a flaw or two that couldn't be ironed out. Almost. An image flashed in her mind, but the thought was quickly disrupted by the ambushing Peridot. She froze in place, keeping her hands half-clenched together over her chest. Her eyes went into a flurry collecting information on the new gem, remaining effectively motionless for a good minute or so.
She didn't relax, but she did turn and observe Moonstone as he clearly knew this gem. She lowers her hands, refusing to mimic Moonstone's surrender, "W-would... *ahem* would you mind explaining yourself? I have no affiliation with this gem, no need to make an enemy out of a bystander." Despite how it sounded, Para wasn't so keen on just leaving Moon to his fate. Though it was true she owed nothing to this gem, for all she knew he was indeed some sort of criminal (though many gems were these days.)
Well this was unexpected. Just as Turquoise started to wonder is she should stay and gather information, or leave and free herself from being near Moonstone, a Peridot showed up. She was armed and dangerous, and clearly took no joy out of seeing Moonstone as well. In fact, she seemed to be the Peridot Turquoise had met before, which was good, since she was as loyal as can be. This meant that Turquoise had no reason to hide behind that boat anymore, and could just join her fellow, loyal gem.
With an elegant slide, Turquoise moves over to the docks, and jumped on top of it, right next to the Peridot. "Turquoise Facet-4D2N Cut-7XF, ma'am! Asking permission to tie up the Moonstone and muzzle them!" After making the Diamond salute at the Peridot, Turquoise pulled out her grappling hook, hoping she'd finally get to shut up the Moonstone.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
