The Kindergarden, as always, was deathly silent. Night had fallen on the old gem site, the perfect cover for any gem who wished to travel unseen. This particular night had an uneasy air to it, as many nights in the Kindergarden were. From all around the place seemed rather peaceful, a tense peace between corrupted gem fights. In the darkness two gems had come to investigate a now seemingly vacant place, known to very few gems.
Deep within the facility was the structure, a seemingly abandoned shack, made from random pieces of human construction materials. From a distance it would not be very obvious, but the front door of this building had been seemingly ripped off, and inside an intruder audibly ransacked the interior. While whatever was inside clearly had no intention of hiding its presence, it wasn't obvious what was actually the source. Perhaps a wild animal, or worse a corrupted gem monster. Either way it was clear there was some sort of struggle going on inside to any gem that had been unlucky enough to near the structure.

Carbide trotted along the narrow hidden path that lead in the direction of Agate's house.. er... shack.. shanty? Nah, its a house and it deserves to be called as such. She had her arms crossed behind her head, gazing up somewhat towards the narrow sliver of sky that was visible between the crevices and walls of the canyon that made up the kindergarten. As she moved, she seemed to orbit about the other, taller figure walking along with her. She would scoot ahead, and then around the side, then back around again, all the while spinning about with her steps. It was rather obvious that the heavy scout didn't have anything too ..heavy.. on her mind at the moment. It could possibly be said that she was letting herself navigate by memory at this point.
Her travel companion, a very tall and finely tuxedoed gem, more refined and orthodox of behavior than Carbide, but rather more peculiar and unorthodox in terms of powers and personality, seemed to be tolerating Carbide's unfocused demeanor, at least for the time being as they closed in on the small structure. It was then that Carbide's ears picked up some noise, not the usual noise that one might come to expect, drifting from the house of her smol blue friend Agate, but more of a crash or clatter, like someone or something was being very careless and possibly downright destructive in their handling of the contents of the house. She knew Agate could handle most of the things a gem would run into at the kindergarten, but still, this concerned her, and she ceased her merry-go-round walking pattern and stops in her tracks, camouflaged black eyes, made to appear normal by her enchanted visor, squint and narrow, while the corner of her lip curls up into a growl. She puts her hand out backwards, the Inquisitorial gem, Mr. O, walking lightly into the outstretched appendage and stopping.
"Something's up Opalite, and I'm not sure that I like it. There is something or someone in there making a mess of the place, and that is very poor manners in my book! Hmm... maybe If you rift walk inside and take a look around, you could pop out and scare em, I'll bet they'll make tracks for the door, then POW... Carbide Clothesline! Then we'll get some answers one way or another.."
The heavy scout makes a show of cracking her knuckles as a magically summoned layer of expanded, semi opaque armor, consisting of a bust and hand guards, as well as an expanded facial visor, expand and appear on her body. She looks up awaiting Mr.O's perspective on the situation and her plan.

O was rather amazed that Agate could keep a secret from him... or maybe it wasn't a secret to begin with. It might have just been because O had never asked. Thinking about it now as he walked with the slightly maddening heavy scout prances around him as they walked, it was more then likely the latter of the two. While the scout was more energetic, O was a bit distracted by the idea of where Agate had vanished to. It had been far too long since he saw his little pebbel... he had an idea where Agate had disappeared to but he didn't want to give the idea any power. A bit more of walking and O couldn't help but get the idea that Carbide might not have any idea where she was going anymore, "Im just gonna say... I KNOW you didn't get us lost...." it was just a bit above of mumble.
Before he got a responce he was stopped by an outstretched limb and a... growl? Tucking his cane up under his arm and placing a hand on a cocked hip he awaited for what Carbide was going to say. "Oh-ho?! Thats.... a pretty good plan darling! I was just gonna banish the whole thing and sort it out later... this could be more fun! I like it!" out spoke from the Inquisitor. Giving a quick spin and stopping by pounding his cane down before him with both hands atop it, vanishing in a blur of blue energy. "Prepare for a show hun! Oh-hohoho!" his disembodied voice rang out from the void around the armored Carbide. Working his way towards the tiny house, O makes his way into the "building" to see some kind of... gem? "Hmmm.... your no corrupt... not as stupid looking.... someone sure did a number on you! Wanna come outside for some fun and PUNISHMENT!!" his voice turned from jolly to glitching anger, hopefully its enough to get a rise out of the creature and bring it out into a Carbide "closeline" whatever that was...
The noise was unmistakable from their distance, something was clearly wrecking the place in Agate's absence. The actual source of the chaos itself wasn't evident until O entered the building. Inside was the... well it was a hard thing to grasp immediately. It was certainly no corrupted gem, the form wasn't nearly as twisted. Indeed there was some obvious attention to detail, as if it were hand crafted. It was clear whatever it was however wasn't entirely a gem, the exosuit of the thing being clearly made of some metallic material for the most part. As well a poorly fitting rubber substance was covering the arms and legs that were not surrounded by metal attachments. Namely metal supports ran along the back of its legs, and massive metal gauntlets the size of its body with open tubes jutting out from the front. Exposed cables extended from near the elbows of the gauntlets, running to a metal backpack of sorts that ran cables further around the chest and up to a pointed helmet covering the entirety of the entities' face.
Whatever it was, it didn't notice the invisible O enter. It continued about its business, trying to crudely climb and reach up to the roof of the hut, towards the number of bubbled corrupted gems floating above its head. Already a number of them were hovering by its waist as it continued collecting. Once O actually spoke it whipped around to view the source, a red glowing visor glaring at the open door way. A unmistakably male voice came out, labored and distorted, "Opalite..." The construct let himself fall down to the floor, rushing forward towards the door. He moved mainly with his arms akin to that of an angry gorilla, unlike before he made no move to exit through the door, instead smashing through the wall containing the frame with a single arm. Easy enough to say, the poorly made building gave little resistance to the charging hunk of metal, and anything (or anyone) on the otherwise would have the shrapnel and metal fist to deal with.

Carbide remained crouched behind a boulder adjacent to Agate's house. She waited and watched the structure, she saw the door open to darkness, then close as the invisible and semi incorporeal Mr. O entered the building. She didn't have to wait too long before she heard his voice ring out inside then all manner of hell breaking loose as whoever, or whatever was inside apparently didn't like being startled.
She crouched lower, and peered at the closed door, her ears tracking the sounds of movement inside the dwelling. She ground the balls of her feet into the dirt, her boot projections taking a good purchase on the terrain as she waited to spring her trap. Then something happened. A very loud something, involving a great deal of property damage collided with the wall, and took most of it, as well as the door, the frame, both sets of hinges an anything else attached, right along with it as it collided and tore out into the open.
"Oh Ive got you now! Wha- in the name of the stars is that?!!"
But it was too late, her legs had already surged with power that buckled the shale under her boots as she spring forward, her left arm outstretched into a crude hook shape, and her gem core pulsing brightly on her back, feeding energy into the durability of her body projection. It was about to shape up to be a meeting between an immovable object and what appeared to be an unstoppable force. It came at her like a freight train, all metal and parts and spikes and ...size.. this thing was pretty big!
It all happened in the blink of an eye. Carbide was hit with a wave of debris, white remnants of the door, wall and frame still clung to to the escaping interloper. She had to act fast, and fortunately for her, she was already moving. "You're not going ANYWHERE!!" She bellowed as her arm made contact with the creature... machine....intruder...the outstretched forearm and fist of the Heavy Scout splintering and smashing through the remains of the door as the two collided!
The impact almost spun the scout around as the entity tried to barrel past her, but after sliding a foot or so, her boots regained traction and she surged her arm upwards under what she assumed passed for the machination's chin and lifted it a few scant inches off the ground, enough to break its inertia and traction, then shifts the direction of her force exerted backwards and down, planting the interloper flat on its back with a tremendous THUD, driving its heavy metal form into the shale, creating a thick dust cloud in the immediate area, obscuring the details of the mechanical figure whose feet and large spiked forearms remained somewhat visible above ground level.
She rolls her shoulder as the impact was rather jarring and lifts her head to see Mr.O standing in the place of the torn out wall.. "THAT.... Mr. O...Is a Carbide Clothesline!"

This.... thing was interesting to look at... some interesting craftmenship of mental and rubber, wires all about and lots of heavy looking metal. It wasn't until the beast had turned about to face him, or more likely the empty door frame behind from where he stood, the red visor... even the sound of a voice... did this thing know O's name?! That only left a few options... this gem was one that maybe O had "wrong" in the past, or a gem O must have come in contact with by other means. Its hard to tell how a gem would know Mr. O, he has been around for so long and in his line of duty has a trail of stories that follow him every where he ventures.
Then came the charge! Even knowing he didn't have to move his still hoped out of the path of this creature, once it had left the debries of the former little shack and made its way... oh crap... did Carbide get caught in this things mad dash?! "You're not going ANYWHERE!" yeah... Carbide was fine, odd... did O just WORRY about Carbide? Maybe all this searching for Agate and thinking of him was... rubbing off on O a BIT too much for what he would like. Popping back into reality O spots Carbide through the dust, not wanting to give this creature a moment, from standing tall and still O had broken out into a mad dash towards the dust around the creature. "Not bad darling! Lets not forget an Opalite Obliteration!" he calls out as he comes to a sliding stop, cane in tow, he bends both legs and tightens up his legs before jetting himself upwards high above the dust cloud.
With his blazingly bright white eyes locked on what he had to guess with the large metal and spiked limbs... was his target. As his body started to drop he began to move quicker and quicker before trying to land pretty much feet first into the chest of this creature! Lets hope Carbide was able to keep it down... this attack has a pretty good chance of back fireing... or really doing some damage.
The opening move to the fight was... less than expected. Of course he was not thinking clearly, no effort going into tactics. Pure brute force, and an intimidating amount of strength indeed. Following up the shower of splinters there was no real plan of attack, Carbide's clothsline immediately canceling any hope for a follow up strike. There were a few moments of peace as the dust cloud floated around, obscuring all vision around the prone figure. Then an almost bestial growl could be heard as the bright red visor was the only thing visible within the cloud, "You're going to wish you hadn't done that..." In the same moment, from the cloud, came a flurry of metal projectiles towards Carbide.
Meanwhile the dust had began to clear as Opalite came crashing down towards him, his visor snapping up to stare him down. Moving with an odd amount of speed for its size, his armored hand raised up and intercepted the inquisitor. His cane pierced into the armor, not striking anything but metal, creating the effect of sticking Opalite onto him long enough for his fingers to wrap around his slender frame. There was a brief pause, "Heh, gotcha." before his fist came crashing down into the earth. He let go, leaving him prone in a impact crater a good few inches deep. His other hand reached up and pulled the cane out of his hand like a splinter, tossing it behind him into the distance.
Whether or not the initial assault kept Carbide busy he loomed over Opalite, fists on either side of the hole and his face leaning in to inspect him. "I hate to say it... but I expected this be more difficult." No facial expressions were visible, yet one could clearly hear the disdain in his voice.

Carbide lay flat on her back, dazed for the moment, her view of the world looking rather... natural.. peculiarly so. It was then that she realized she could feel the cool air more directly upon her vision spheres, meaning that her visor had been smashed away. She went to squint and blink and realized that her face was somewhat sore and scuffed as well, along with various other parts of her body that bore damage to her clothing projection and welts beneath. Then she remembered the flash and wave of force she felt as the iron shrapnel and projectiles from some hidden weaponry on this juggernaut had sprung to life and pelted her with a barrage from where it lay in the ground she had nearly planted it in.
Rising to a sitting position she watches in surprise as Mr.O is being tossed about like a puppet in the air, while still clinging to his cane which appeared jammed through the arm plates of this machination.
"Oh Stars! Opalite! Let go befo- " She is cut off and gives a sympathetic wince as she watches Mr O get driven into a ditch of his own making like he was some sort of cartoon character. This would not do at all, she had to get a bit more serious it seems. Soon she is scrambling to her feet and boosting into a dash as she watches the figure loom over Opalite..
"I hate to say it... but I expected this be more difficult."
The metal menace might at this time hear the sound of Carbide's now somewhat heavier footfalls approaching at high speed, and the whirring grinding growl of two protruding ratchet toothed rings, running around the outer edge of the butt of her weapons, sparks of ember and slag drifting off angrily into the air as she lunged, one weapon held across her middle for protection, and one arm drawn back, weapon resting along her forearm, butt forward..
"If you wanted me to take you a bit more seriously, all you had to do was ASK!!"
A rapturous boom cuts the air behind Carbide, as the blank shot of her weapon drives forth a punishing recoil punch, combined with her own bodily strength, the heavy weapon rockets towards her adversary's dome, intent on ringing some bells. If the creature turns its head to face her just in time, it just might make out a raised inscription circling the butt of Carbide's Ballistic Cudgel, scorching the air in its path, only inches away... "~Cast In The Name Of The Diamonds~"

O had indeed made contact with his target.... just not in the way that he had hoped for. Looking down he realizes where he had "landed" and letting out a soft sigh before opening his mouth to speak. "Who do you think you are?! Do you know who *I* am?! You over-weight PLEB! You will put me down and BEG for my forgivness, MAYBE if you beg enough, I MIGHT give you the mercy of a sweet death... or maybe entrapment in your own little 'cell' that fits nicely outside of this dimesnion!" Now... that was all well and good... very threataning and well... bit long winded. Its a shame all he REALLY got out was, "Who do you thi-" before being slammed INTO the ground.
Everything was fuzzy, was his projection still holding? Feeling any of him limbs seemed like a far away thing.... not as far as he thought as the pain started to set in. His smile still across his face, eyes not AS bright as normal but... still clearly glowing white. Slowly the hulking form loomed over into his gaze, "I hate to say it... but I expected this be more difficult."
Even beaten into the ground, "Oh-ho-ho-ho.... im NEVER what you can expect darling...."
Even O could still hear the heavy sound of pounding scout feet, that growl too.... to save his cane from poofing away he had switched it into its whip form as he was pounded into the ground. (Literally) his grin growing a bit brighter as he whipped his cane around the beasts neck, the bottom end coming around the neck and into O's free hand. Kicking off from the side, using the lip around the impact zone to kick himself around and onto the back of the gem, pulling on the whip trying to keep him focused on him. While attempting to do this, his hat had saddly flung from his dome.... just outside of the Opalite shaped hole. Tipped over onto his side, inside the hat peeking out what some sort of small human device... a small screen and a few buttons.. something O had prepared and ready to pull out before all this started up.
The impact had a both satisfying, yet sickening, audible crack. Even with his size and fingers dug into the dirt he went flying a good few feet backwards. Luckily for Opalite he managed to not flip over, instead leaving a line of earth displaced as he slid backwards. Was he seeing double? Yeah, Carbide really hit him good. He shook his head rapidly, trying to sort himself out, stopping and turning to face Carbide. His entire mask was cracked in half, the visor losing its power becoming a much more dull red. The voice was muffled, yet whatever modifier that was seemingly functioning before was now malfunctioning, "I am REALLY going to enjoy smashing you into dust." Now the voice was almost recognizable.
He shook himself from side to side, trying to unsuccessfully dislodge the Opalite latched onto his back. Realizing he was going to be stubborn he resorted to plan B. Both hands reached up and attempted to grab O, and in the same motion he jumped forward in an almost front flip-esq move. The desired result was to grab Opalite, smash him between the ground and his back, and follow up with another ground pound. At this distance Opalite could clearly hear the backpack hum as he moved, the tubes connecting the arms resonating as well.
Whether or not his move was entirely successful he turned his attention to Carbide, who likely was not too far behind with her own attack. His arms slammed together side by side, locking together into a makeshift shield preemptively. Moments later an almost audible clunk was heard, as if something had been reloaded, followed by the launching of numerous metal balls from the tubes located across the front of his arms. "Why don't you leave us two ALONE!."

"Oh No! Not this time you walking tea kettle!"
Carbide brings her weapons together just in time to be pushed back a foot or two along the ground as the barrage of iron projectiles hammer against the tough weapon's bodies, acting as a relatively effective shield for the heavy scout, who peeks out from behind her cover after the barrage has passed. It seemed to be squaring off to be an all out tank battle, heavy armor vs heavy armor.. peojectiles against projectiles.
"You look like you've got an itch that needs scratching there toaster-boy, you know.. right on you... all over your body! Let me help you out with that.... Opalite, keep your pointy noggin down!!"
Carbide pulls the cudgels away from in front of her, and gives each a spin that lands them tucked up under her arms in a gunslinger pose, the rings ratchet and clunk one more time, a fiery glow creeping down the barrels until both cylindrical weapons erupt into song at the exact same moment... and the song is sung with only a one word lyric.... and that lyric is BANG!
The weapons buck in her grasp and issue forth a double volley of hard light grape shot, much in the same spirit of the iron shrapnel the machination's arm mounted weaponry seemed to sport. She could have loaded up explosive piercing shots, but the potential for collateral damage... aka a badly injured Opalite was much too high for her tastes.
Carbide pulls the weapons back into a more defensive pose, not trying to reload them right away, as the successive powering up of her weapons to form hard light munitions could leave her somewhat drained and sluggish, and she wasn't about to become a stationary target with this metal gorilla on the loose.

Keeping his grip on his whip strong, he was surprised at how well he was staying on the gems back, he figured he would have tried to grab at him or smash him off a.... oh. The voice though.... hugging the body of the beast O could only hear two things. The hum of this device on its back and the sound of that voice.... he couldn't place where it was from but he couldn't help but feel like he knew it, not the time to think about this though.
Noticing the hands coming at him he realized this may be a nasty position to stay in, taking the lose and jumping from the back of the creature into the air as it tried to flip a bit and grab the Inquisitor. As he jumped, he pulled his whip rather roughly as the blades of his whip pulled and ripped at the neck of the gem, ripping apart some armor or any tubes of any kind near that area. O was starting to grow tired of this.... game, they were playing. While in the air O gripped onto one of the ledges from a hole imbetted into the walls of the vally.
"Such TRASH! Vile creature..... Looks like you got dropped off the top of the UGLY tower! Smacking every single UGLY beam on the way down!" Seems like O was just throwing insults to this gem.... part of him wanted to try and pull some attention from Carbide..... also this voice... he wanted to hear it just one more time...
Carbide's projectiles struck his arms, leaving multiple small dents in the bulwark of his shield. The construct then slumped onto the ground, having to groggily pick itself back up. The cables connecting the arms to its back had been severed, the red glowing cracks running along them growing much duller as time passed. His reactions seemed much slower, and the armor around his face and neck had been visible scratched up. He looked between Carbide and Opalite, betting on the odds. He wanted nothing more than to run up and smash O's face in, but in his current state he probably couldn't continue fighting. Heck, he knew he lost. At least this fight at least.
At that point he turned back to O as he spoke, remaining in the slight crater he had created by body slamming into the ground. He was silent and motionless for a while, as if he had frozen up on the spot, until something could be heard just barely as it grew louder. "Heh...hehe... haha... hahaha... HAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" And almost insane chuckled turned into a twisted laugh, even the lights on his back dimmed, "You... you don't like it? Then tell me... why?" His fingers dug into the dirt and he lowered his head, his generator whirring back to life, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS THEN?! WHY DID YOU MAKE ME LIKE THIS!" At this point his fists were clenched in the dirt, and... was his face plate leaking? Water or some sort of clear liquid dripped out from the crack in his helmet, staining the ground below.
Not waiting for an answer he threw the chunks of dirt he had gripped at Carbide to distract her, dashing to the side to grab the discarded Gameboy off the ground. With that item required he turned and dashed away, calling back over his shoulder, "Both of you be aware, I'll be back! And then I'll get you, I'll get you both! Especially YOU MR. O!" And with that he booked it as fast as his form would take him away from the both of them for some much needed... refinements.

Carbide shielded her face from the flying clumps of dirt with her broad weapons, wanting to keep it out of her vision spheres, as her visor had been smashed away early in the fight. The whole situaiton was so strange, she had seldom seen an opponent fighting like they were simulaneously absolutely cutting loose, and then at moments seem like they were holding back. Something wasnt right at all.. and that laughter.. it was all the more eerie due to the apparent damage to the machinaiton's voice projector, it almost sounded familiar for a moment, but it wasnt acting like anyone she knew.
As she stood there, she shook the dirt out of her hair, and watched the creature bolt off through the canyons and crevices of the kindergarten. She debated giving chase for the moment, but she had to check on a few things first, besides, that thing was gem tech at least partially, and was quicker and more resilient that one might expect at a glance, even given its bulk.
"Ive got a feeling I am not gonna like the answer to this mystery.." She muses out loud, then walkd over to Oplite and brushes some twigs and dirt from his lapel. He looked a bit scuffed up from nearly being driven into the ground like a fence post, but aside from a tilted top hat, he seemed to be in order.
"Are you okay? What exactly did you make of all that Opalite? That thing, whoever or whatever it was, seemed massively mentally unstable, and it knew both of us, although it seems to have it out for you in particular. Now I know that we have both probably got a fair share of enemies with enough chipped facets to be crazy enough to pull a stunt like this, but Agate is missing, now where or on whom should we focus the our efforts here. It would be one thing to run into a crazed robonoid sent by an enemy, but that thing was ransacking poor Agate's house.. look at it."
Carbide turns and walks back into the house through the hole in the the wall.. or rather the whole where the wall in its entirety used to be, before that juggernaut tore its way out. She looks up at the celing where a few of the bubbled gem cores remain floating, but its clear that some of them were already taken, aside from the fact that the rest of the belongings looked like they were flattened.

Dropping down from his vantage point, O swiftly lands on the ground before his hat.... something was off.... he could have sworn he saw something in his hat when it had fallen, Graciosly of course. Bending down to grab his hat and honestly just kind of tossed it onto his head, covering his gem once again. He was busy questioning himself over what he had seen... then there was the whole question of what the beast had spoke about.
Snapping out of his mental questioning as Carbide brushed some random twigs and the like from his tux. "I had a single foe in mind.... one dim-witted enough to introduce herself to me and tell me just about everything ABOUT her. She claims she is loyal to our mighty Empire... yet... I just figured she was mad or something or the other. Didn't think she would go THIS hard..... I'm willing to bet my hat that this Obsidian sent this creature after us." He paused for a moment as Carbide had wondered off.
Moving slowly as he waltz after her, he watched a moment as she glanced around the hut. O was drawn to look at the bubbled gems... why had Agate never brought him here? Or even told him? Maybe... Agate figured he didn't need him around? Or... wanted to keep a SECRET from him?! This could wait.... he would have to ask Agate this himself.
"Hm.. Before we go on a crusade, as much as I would like to.... have I ever told you about a three hundred year long crusade over a planet in the bek sector? Oh it was fantastic! We.... wait right.... we need to make a trip darling.... back to a city, I want to have some words with a fellow loyalist." Both hands pulled behind his back, gripping each other. O turned from the hut and started to walk off, "Come dear! We have Oh-hohohoho sooooo much work to be done!" His voices seemed more in sync then normal. Its clear Mr. O was quiet determined in this endeavor.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
