The warp's characteristic whoosh echoed around the abandoned gem settlement as Bumble arrived. She stepped off the pad and walked to the first tent in order to find her desired treasure. The jasper opened up one of the storage units and dug through it until she found what she needed. Aha! she shouted once she had found it. She pulled out a decagonal item and activated the communicatory device. She was overjoyed when she found out it was still in working condition, but frustrated with its inability to do its job, given that its one and only frequency had been blocked. Bumble wore a confused expression on her face before putting it back. She kept looking for a working one, but her search in that specific unit was stopped when she found a robonoid spill at the bottom of the chest.
"This is Amber from facet 12F6LT Cut 7XH, reporting in from Planet Earth. My ship's crashed, my team is missing, and I have no way of getting off this planet. Request for backup, please." A smol pale-orange Gem spoke to herself, seeming to rehearse these lines as she walked. She was in search of the nearest communication hub, center, or device. She had only awoken months ago, but her search has been, since then, unsuccessful. Gems surprisingly were few in number, and in their place were these soft-fleshed organic lifeforms that peppered in and out of her memory. Every time she saw one they reminded her of her failure on her mission. She needed to find her assigned Kindergarten, but all files were unobtainable on her ship as nearly all the mechanics were old and broken. Sighing, she continued walking and rehearsing.
"This is Amber from Facet 12F6LT- oh?" She stumbled upon a small Gem settlement. Really? About time! She ran into the settlement, quickly glancing around only to find one the settlement dry of Gem life. Sighing, expecting no one to answer, she gave a shout anyway. "Hello? Helloooooo?!"
What she didn't expect, though, was an answer from an unwanted guest. A Centipeetle happened to be close by and, hearing the noise from the smol gem, crawled its way towards the settlement. Once near, it hissed, alerting Amber. The little Amber Gem turned around quick, her eyes widening in fright. "What the super nova is THAT?!" she gasped to herself, taking small subtle steps back. It lashed at her first with its tail; the Gem rolled out of the way and began to retreat. "Help!"
Bumble's upper body shot out of the chest when she heard the distinctly gem call of "Hello? Helloooooo?!". She vigorously clambered to her feet when she could hear the shuf shuf of the sand in the middle of the clearing. She edged closer to the tent's exit, when she saw a large, green, insectoid behemoth. She whipped back behind the door flap of the tent and consulted her conscience on whether or not to fight. Interrupting her thoughts barged in a cry for help. She Nodded to herself before curling into a glowing ball of burning honey. She bounced off a nearby cedar, leaving ember-kissed scars on its hide. The jasper kept herself tucked into a ball of honeyed heat as she sped haphazardly towards the beast, veering towards a tree before breaking her formation to glide with her newly-summoned shield. She landed on the monster's neck and landed a security hug, holding her shield as close to her body with the beast's neck between the honeycomb and her. Her grip tightened as the corrupted one realized the gravity of the situation. As it writhed and shook, attempting to free itself was when she began to attempt to get closer to the gem's location, which was the base of the neck. Every so often, the animalistic gem would be successful in loosing her grip -and even dropping her down around a foot at one point- but Bumble's will was strong. It would hold. For now. "Coward!" she roared at the still fleeing gem "get over her and assist me!"
Amber's eyes widened even more at the sight of Bumble wrestling the beast. She winced as Bumble addressed her, but took no hesitation in pulling out her bow from her Gem as well as arrow or two. She set the arrow, took aim, and fired. Her aiming was fairly accurate, being an archer-like Gem, but sometimes it varies. The arrow flew forward and struck the monster directly in its open mouth. The Centipeedle screeched loudly, rearing back and tossing its head back. It regurgitated some acid of which Amber tried to quickly avoid. She glanced to Bumble, having a sort of mental panic. She wasn't use to fighting; she only did it if she had to. Plus she was asleep for a thousand years! Shaking her head, trying to rid herself of these doubts and fears, she summoned her wings and another arrow and tried to get a better angle for a better shot. But then an idea came to her. She began shooting at the Centipeetle, but only in the place in which would benefit Bumble. The arrows stuck in the monster, protruding from its flesh, serving as hand or feet holds so the jasper can climb better.
Bumble was still locked on to the beast's neck when she heard arrows whizzing by her and thunks as the arrows hit their targets. She desummoned her shield, and BB pulled on one of the arrows and used it to push herself up, higher on the monster until she had reached its head. Her legs were taught around its neck before she began to pummel the top of its furred head. She began to summon her shield when the behemoth bucked her off of its neck. She stopped mid summon in suprise of what was unfurling before her eyes, right before her back collided with a tree and she fell to the ground. The centipeedle reared its large head and began running at her, rearing its head in order to spit. BB's pupils constricted with fear and shock, and before she tried to roll away, the centipeedle's head struck down beside her. She rapidly swung her arm around its neck, and slung like a child, faced its gem. With both arms, she began to tug on its gem, which pulled the creature down to the ground, the pair disappearing in a large white puff of light.
Amber gasped and dived down to where the commotion happened. She stood before the bright light, her eyes wide, though soon she was blinded by the brightness. What was going on? Was Bumble successful in taking the Gem out of the monster? Did Bumble poof or, worse, shattered? Is this some weird fusion tactic? Amber stood where she was, unsure of what was happening or what she was suppose to do. She was lost. She was lost without orders from Homeworld. She didn't know how to function. What was she suppose to do here? Homeworld training never told her anything about THIS! Homeworld never told her about Gem monsters neither... were they special only to Earth? Swallowing a hard lump in her throat, she tried to brave the light, waiting for it to disappear so she can decide on what to do next. Hopefully the jasper that helped her was okay....
A dark grey arm shot out of the mist as BB pulled herself together. she looked down to her chest, and sure enough, her gem was fine. She sighed in relief before pulling herself into a sitting position. Be(e)fore coming to terms with the events that had just occured. She looked down to see the corrupted monster's gem, sitting on the ground, glinting in the sunlight. However, when she looked down at her torso, she could see a large hole being eaten away by some of the monster's acid. She smiled weakly before climbing to her knees. As she began to stand, She doubled over and clutched her mass in pain. Before even getting to raise her head, A second poof of light occurred -this time it was a more honey-colored hue- and the cabochet fell to the ground.
Amber's eyes widened and she rushed over to the fallen gem. She checked the gem for cracks or chips, anything that could detail that she was damaged. Finding none, she kept the gem close to her as well as picked up the fallen corrupted gem. She didn't know exactly much about bubbling, so she wasn't sure how to activate such ability. She made her way back into one of the tents, making sure to be careful with the gemstones in her hands. Once inside the tent, she placed them down and continued to observe them carefully. She then conducted Energy Transfer on Bumble's gem, focusing on the energy inside her, letting it out. This should provide an extra energy boost. She wasn't sure if it would speed up regeneration times, but hopefully it helped in some way. For the corrupted gem, she wasn't sure what to do. Was she able to help it in its gem form? She didn't know how to deal with it, didn't know how to deal with monstrous gems. What was she suppose to do? Sighing, she looked after Bumble instead. "Thank you for saving me," she whispered to it.
The cabochon reflected some light into any viable viewer's eye, the vexing patterns seeming to change if you looked hard and long enough. It could've been hours, even days before she reemerged from the oval-shaped gem. It was late at night when a blob of white light was produced from the Jasper, forming the most basic anatomical shapes. Then her honeycomb-shaped hair sprung forth and she regained her normal color. Nothing had changed about her outfit post-reform. BB stretched out before glancing at the amber who had apparently moved her off the ground. She looked at her gem, which gleamed softly in the moonlight, before smiling at the other gem. She found a comfortable spot on the ground to lay, and once she did, Bumble fell into a undisturbed, peaceful slumber.
Amber watched as Bumble emerged from her gem. A small sigh and smile of relief washed over the little Gem's features. She then laid back, exhausted from her stress for looking after the gem, and stared out into the night sky. Her gaze raked over the collections of constellations and planets seen in the ocean of inky black. It wasn't long until she found Homeworld, or at least Homeworld's galaxy: the brightest "star" up there. She sighed and frowned a bit.
She began to wonder if Homeworld was watching her right now. Maybe this was a test to prove how useful she could be? She looked over at the sleeping Bumblebee Jasper. She had helped this Gem today. Was that something? Did she pass some sort of test there? Amber looked down at the ground. Even if that wasn't a test, she at least was able to help someone, and that was good enough.
She crawled over, then, to Bumble and curled up beside her. She didn't know this Gem, but she was willing to guard her for one more night.
Bumble woke up early the next morning and found something pressing against her. Slowly, she turned her head and saw that the gem she had only met just yesterday was now curled up near her. She rose quietly and once at her full height. She crouched to observe the gem for possible weaknesses in case of a fight. Soon concluding her search, she slowly backed out of the tent and walked over to another to resume yesterday's semi fruitful search. She cracked her knuckles and set to work once she saw that there were significantly more chests in this tent; twelve instead of the mere two she had found the day before. She set to work quietly, sorting out the broken and crushed pieces from the salvageable, useful items.
Amber's eyes peeked open slowly. What? What was this? Daylight? She sat up abruptly, seeming bewildered that she had... what did she do? She had rested... but she wasn't in her gem. She tried to think, invisible gears whirring in her head. What was the word? Humans did it, didn't they? Useless information bubbled in her mind. Resting their eyes? Sleeping! They were sleeping. Odd. Gems don't need to sleep, yet they did so anyway? Or, she had, at least, and the Bumblebee Jasper she helped save yesterday did too-
Amber looked wildly beside and behind her, trying to search out the jasper. Not seeing her anywhere in sight, a slight panic rose up in her. Where was she? Was she okay? Amber became suddenly very nervous. She was alone again, wasn't she? Frowning, she sighed and pushed herself up. Well, what was she expecting? Gems can take care of themselves. No one needs a... a... what did the humans call it? Baby-sitter? Sighing, dusting herself off, she exited out of the tent. She did her job, that was good enough.
She glanced around, trying to spot out any other Gem, but the settlement was empty. She heard noises coming from one of the tents. She walked to that one and peeped her head in to see a series of chests and Bumble working away. A smile lit up Amber's face, "You're here!" She then tilted her head, her eyes narrowing in concern. "Are you okay?"
Bumble's steely concentration on the storage unit she was currently searching was broken by the other gem's voice. "You're here!" and "Are you ok?" 5BB turned around and responded to the slightly worried gem "Yes. I'm fine. Did you need anything?" While she waited for the response, BB turned back around to focus on her search, which by this time seemed to be an indefinite one, given its lackluster fruitfulness. She resumed her steely gaze as she finished serching the compartment, and decided to check a smaller one for a change. She carefully opened its lid and began to fish through it quickly, determining it to be all but useful. Moving onto the next compartment with a grumble, she once again set herself to this meager task.
"Uh... No, I guess. Was just wondering. I mean, you took a fall yesterday." Amber shrugged and hugged herself. She watched Bumble go through the chests and fidget with various items. "What are you doing?" she inquired, taking a step closer to the jasper with interest. "Oh, and uh... I'm... Amber, by the way. Uh... facet 12F6LT Cut 7XH," she said, as if it would mean anything. Perhaps it would? Perhaps, most likely... it wouldn't. The gem appeared to be uncomfortable afterwards. She let her gaze travel over the various gizmos pulled from the trunks. Some of them she recognized from her ship; others were forgotten from her amnesiac memory. She picked up one of them, turned it over in her hands, and observed it. "Looking for something?"
As she continued to search for it, the other gem began to reply; "Uh..No, I guess. Was just wondering. I mean, you took a fall yesterday." A little while later the other gem introduced herself as Amber, facet 12F6LT, cut 7XH to which Bumble replied with her own identification. "Cut 82YS, Facet 5BB. Charmed." Out of her peripheral vision, she saw a hand reach over to one of her piles and pick something up, and accompanied it with "Looking for something?" The jasper tuned her head to look at Amber and nodded, after all, what harm could telling her do? She reasoned. "Yeah, a communicator device. Preferably one that can reach the base on the moon. Got anything like that?"

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
