"Well... humans also love their screens... they use them for wide variety of reasons. For example they made a virtual map of almost every city... most of the streets... and so on... it can show you way from one point to another, you can zoom into almost every street... it's quite handy actually... well for humans... I can fly over city and see everything I need... but I guess there aren't many gems, that could fly... "
He said what he knew. He was lately spending a lot of his time on computers, learning about a lot of things. "Well... the game isn't really that impressive... it's just a program, where you're trying to build an empire, using diplomacy or warfare to be the greatest empire there is... you can win either by killing other enemies... or by be so advanced, the others will simply acknowledge your greatness and so on... it has to practical purpose... but it's fun..."
He explained. It was less impressive that it sounded...

A soft catty chuckle can be heard from behind a newspaper held by what looked like a somewhat elderly human female, with a knitted mauve coat and a shawl and sunglasses on her head. She sits at a table in front of a coffee shop, a steaming cup of the tasty confection sits on a saucer by her hand, her skintone looks a little off for a human, perhaps just a teeny bit, but she is more or less covered up rather completely...and has she been EAVESDROPPING on the conversation between the two gems?? They had been carrying on for quite some time, rather loudly too, and if they had been observant, they might have not noticed the elderly figure show up and take a seat a short time after they had made introductions.
Carbide, shape shifted into this disguise didn't quite feel like giving everything up just yet and thought it might be interesting to observe both Gaspeite and Morion's little protege Chip, for a little while, and get a sense of their personalities, especially given how they were out and about with humans and what not all around them. Being surrounded by new creatures can sometimes bring to light different glimpses at their personalities, and for the heavy scout, this was her first time seeing and actually observing Chip as well. It was somewhat refreshing to hear such a positive outlook on Earth, from someone so close to Mr. Smokey Mc Doom n' Gloom...er...Morion. But for now, it was time to have a bit of harmless fun!
Reintroducing a bit of a more elderly tone into her voice, her giggle trails off..."My, what peculiar and interesting creatures you.. gems is it?..are, yes, thats what the people are saying. Rock people from up in space.." The corner of the newspaper dips down a bit, exposing a bit of her rather flowery large frame sunglasses, and a cocked eyebrow.
"I'd be more mindful if I were you, Tall-Green..tell yourself that your race owns the universe, enough times, and you just might end up believing it yourself. There's a saying on our world that goes 'there's always a bigger fish' so don't be surprised if somewhere down the line, there's something else out in the stars that will be perfectly capable of viewing you, as you do the inhabitants of this world. Someone told me so..someone who knows.. mmhmm.. there's things out there...mark my words, hehe. Thats how surprises work."

Yellow Peridot had been lurking in the lit up city. She has never realized that a place like this existed outside of Beach City, but she honestly should have expected it. This planet was full of surprises everywhere. But when she began to see other gems here to, that set her off. Most notably, these two who had been having a conversation in the midst of the place. She decided to shapeshift herself to make sure she wasn't sought out as a gem so easily. She had learned from that, being caught a few times while sneaking around Rebel territory.
Yellow Peridot had shapeshifted her form into that of an owl. Though she was almost addicted to her vulture form, she knew that wouldn't do well as a good disguise. But she has patiently been watching about half of their conversation, and growled at his remark at hating Peridots. If she wasn't in this putrid form, she would've tried to slice the insolent little clod till she was shattered. She didn't make much noise, and simply watched the two and the supposed human converse with each other with large, alert eyes.
Fearsome Warrior and Technician of Yellow Diamond.

Gaspeite didn't think the humans were so intelligent, because of their rudimentary structures and ships. Also, her work in the 3d model of the city was kinda pointless, but she kept it anyway, thinking it could be useful someday. As Chip was telling more about human tech, she started getting even more interested.
"I still want to see their screen, it' think it would be quite entertaining" She says, followed by"We should maybe move to the skyscraper, we're not really hidden in the middle of the-" She is stopped, as the "human" was giving her a lecture like she knew what she was talking about. Gaspeit's face looked concerned, like there was something wrong with the lady, but she had to find something to say. There was also that Owl, standing rather quietly for a human populated area.
"Human, if I was paranoiac I would say that you aren't, because your talk is way too confident about what you're saying.".She took a step forward, the female human kinda sparked something in her head, but she had no clue who it was. "Who could tell you such a thing?"

"Yeah well I don't feel like going back home... I went out for a reason... well one of those reasons is that I like the rain... but not the only one... sometimes I just feel like spreading wings and enjoying the planet Earth... and the Empire city..."
He said. He was not hiding... he was the protector of the Empire city... there was no reason for him to hide. People of this city saw him several times flying around... and there weren't exactly many beings with fiery wings flying around...
Some ancient human started talking to them... and she was quite badass it seemed, she easily owned the fusion, which Chip appreciated with historical laughter. It was one of those childish laughs, that wasn't exactly pleasant... well, it was one of those "shut up you annoying brat" kind of laughs.

The disguised Silicon Carbide lowered the newspaper further, letitng it fold over half way, a broad and wry grin was spread over her aged and creased face. She looked somewhere in her early to mid seventies, by human standards, but without the newspaper obscuring her figure, it could be seen that she looked rather thin, perhaps she was ill or unhealthy..
"Come over here Tawll-Green.. you too firefly, come down here and sit with ol' Granny Trost..Least then I can see ya, these old eyes arent as keen as they used to be.I should tell you to pull up a chair there Green, but you might be too mich lady for it to handle!" Her voice settles into somewhat of a big city drawl as she pats the glass top of the table, and indicates to a couple adjacent unoccupied chairs.
"SO.. Doctor of advanced geophysics, Emery Trost, retired..pleased to meet you both. Its kinda funny you know Green, that shocked expression youre wearing makes you look like that the thought of a human with a collection of cogniscent thoughts and a comprehension of the universe, is more out of place than if I had grown a third butt cheek awn my fanny, haha!"
Her slender hand reaches out and takes the cup of coffe gingerly into the air, as if in a little toast and then brings it to her pursed lips for a sip. "As for your second question there, how would I know? Well I already told you, somebody told me, tha tsomebody being a Gem of course, shoudlnt be that hard to draw that conculusion now should it?
Real nice girl too, discovered her a year or two ago, poking around the advanced engineering and astrophysics department of the University I tawught at! Some of the stuff she and I talked about.. verrry interesting stuff.. colonization on a galaxy wide scale.. incubating your next generation in the ground of worlds you come across, burning them out as you go. Thats a problem, verrry inefficiant, that Gem and I , we worked on that together for a few weeks, tryin to overcome or rather.. sidestep that .. liability in your reproduction."
Her eyebrwow arches behind her sunglasses and her lip curls as she watches the expression playing over the tall fusion's face, it almost appeared to be a mix of fascination, surprize and... can we let this human go without risking a leak of gem data and tech!
"Oh stow that concerned looke Green, an old woman already long gone from this world, cant be much of a security risk can she?"
She fishes a slender cigarillo from a nearby hand bang and fumbles with a gold zippo for a moment with her aged hands but soon has it lit-..Wait... what was that the elderly human just said??

Gaspeite didn't sit down, she stayed standing near the thing, and she was really on edge of leaving, the granny was just saying some random things that didn't make sense and was annoying Gaspeite. It struck her like a train that the female human wasn't a human at all, how can one human know so much about Gems? It was oblivious, no human knew about kindergartens, no human knew that the gems were conquerors of worlds and solar systems, at least from Gaspeite's view on the situation. Plus, she had already heard the "My friend told me" kind of talk, it was obnoxious how the thing was making fun of her.
Gaspeite's face turned from a concerned "" face to a furious look when finally the person put a nail in it's own coffin. She flipped the table with one hand, knocked the café chair in front of her with the other one, making appear another of her fancy polearm weapons, an axe-scythe looking one, holding it in her left upper hand, whole standing in a defending position, she didn't want to get toyed with by the enemy!
"You're a crystal gem, aren't you?! Spying on our conversation, only a fool spirit would foolishly talk about Gem culture disguised as a human!"
She said, in a defying tone. There weren't loads of people walking by, because it was a work time and nobody comes back from work or goes to work, but the couple people at the café were terrified, and people walking on the streets would cross the street and change pavement.

Well that escalated quickly... the ancient human was talking, Chip had to laugh when being called a firefly, it was kinda cute actually. But the fusion reacted... poorly. Apparently, the fusion suspected the ancient human of being a crystal gem, that is spying on them. Well if the fusion was right, crystal gems now knew, what games does Chip play... the terrible things they could do with that information...
The fusion flipped the table and summon it's weapon. Chip stood between them, facing the fusion... his lance appearing in his arm. "Are you completely mad? Or are just enjoying scaring people to deaths? Either way back off... and you, stop playing games and tell us who you are... and what do you want..."
He said. The "granny" was too weird, though she could have been servant of some gem... Morion kept enough humans around... and perhaps some, like Joseph knew a thing or two about gems... some other powerful gem could tell more to his humans... especially scientists... but it might as well be a gem...

The small aged looking figure barely seemed to flinch when the table and umbrella sailed off into the air and into the empty sidewalk where it tumbled and came to a stop. Hoo boy, this hadn't unfolded quite the way she planned. She was a little humbled that Chip had kept to intervene, defending the unknown while still demanding an explanation.
~"..and what do you want?.."~
The disguised scout releases an apologetic sigh and rises from her seat slowly, although her movements are no longer appearing so infirm. Reaching into her hand bag, the figure draws out what appears to be a somewhat worn looking Polaroid picture, glancing it momentarily she moves forward, resting a hand lightly on Chip's shoulder as she moves put past him, beyond the protection of his halberd. "Thanks Chip, you've got a protective spirit but a firm an reasonablet countenance..seems to fit with what I've heard about ya.."
Stepping forward further, Carbide strolls gently up to the agitated fusion, with the photograph held out at arms length, almost snuggling right up with the extended green weapon as to reach one of the Fusion's free hands and turn the picture over in their palm. Such as it were.
The picture is definitely a couple years old, with a few scuffs and a crease on one of the corners but the image is still clear, a depiction of what looked like the study of a private residence with piles of books in the background as well as a couple computers, and in the foreground an old human female, sitting up with life support equipment attached to her arms and face with one hand extended in a peace sign and a luminous grin on her aged face. Beside her with her arm over her shoulder and the other hand extended in the same peace sign is Carbide, her appearance modifiers somewhat different.. a previous version she had used when she first arrived on earth..the old woman in the picture is the likeness of the figure standing before Gaspeite now.
"You would have liked her Gaspeite... both a scientist and as a person who came into her own, recognized for her skills after fighting for her right to exist as a woman and professional in academic circles that were dogmatic in regection of professionals of her gender at the time.. just as you seek to be seen as and whole and valid being as a fusion, and a contributor to your diamond, rather than a tool of convenience." The old woman's voice begins to sharpen and change, now sounding get hopefully quite familiar, so to does her form begin to glow and begins to change as well..gradually becoming Carbide's default projection.
"It wasn't my intent to agitate you Gaspeite, I apologize. Dr.Trost had a rather...forceful personality. She died a few days after that photograph was taken, but I met her a few months earlier as she was retiring from her research position due time an advanced illness. Guess you could say she was my first friend on this planet. I knew she was going to die soon, so I shared this n that with her..after I fed her some numbers for the energy properties of our reactors she even managed to form a working mathematical treatise on repurposing decomisssioned capital ship reactors to emit a geomagnetic field to form planetoids suitable for kindergartening out of asteroid belts with high levels of heavy metals in the soil to create the geomagnetic field we gems need to grow..I'll share it with you some time, but for now I was curious to how things would go down if the unexpected were to come along. Not everything that'll grab your attention on this world runs at you waving a weapon, and not everything that surprises you should be met with waving a weapon either, my friend. It's a world of surprises you know."
Carbide gives a respectful bow.."Please forgive the scout in me, observing, learning, being curious is what I do.. that and I thought you might have found her persona intrigueing, guess part of me was a bit sad that one of the best examples of a briliant mind of this species, was already dead and gone before you met her or knew she even existed..thought you might have recognized the cigarillo though, bad habit I picked up from Dr. Trost Hehe.."

Gaspeite's face turned white, she became spaghetti. This was extremely unexpected. Her whole being becomes shame, her expression would be the same as of a dead person, with big opened eyes and a cloud coming out of her mouth. Péridot and Vesuvianite both facepalm, curling up into a ball. It's only to imagine how she feels right now, this is not actually what's going on, but it's close. She drops her weapon, it falls through the ground, disappearing into light as it touches the very surface of it like it was getting into the ground. The embarassed fusion would straighten, symbolically wiping the odd loo from her face, she would carefully take the photo and bring it closer for her to look at the details Carbide is talking about. Gaspeite didn't like to feel useless emotions, because usually those were the ones dangerous for her mind.
"Accept my apologies, this shouldn't have happened, it was a basic reflex, the Crystal Gems are only stress for me... You could see her own disappointment on her face, but she is a warrior gem. She got annoyed by the way the lady was talking, and then thought that a Crystal Gem was fooling with her.
"It would have been an honor to meet that human scientist, there would be a lot to learn from her, it is a shame that a powerful mind is no longer here."
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Nov 12, 2016 21:46:38 GMT
Chip just blushed, he was quite proud that he faced the fusion, even though fusions had to be really dangerous. But it was the right thing to do! But quite soon he got lost in what the new one was saying... something about scientist... a lot of technobabbles. It wa too much for his little head... so he was just nodding... the only thing that was important was, that that person turned out to be gem after all...
"Ok... that was really interesting and everything... but who are you? You apparently knew about me... but I don't have the slightest clue about who you are..."
He asked. It might have been slightly rude, but so was talking without introducing yourself. Chip wasn't exactly best conversationalist for those sciency stuff...

Carbide shook her head a few times, her vision spheres rolling upwards and glancing at her thick tuft of bangs, getting them to settle properly agin after resuming her default shape, nothing worse than fly aways after all. "Its quite alright Gaspeite, I will make sure to keep all my dealings with you, clear and apparent in the future, if there' is anything I do or say that leaves you with questions, go ahead and call me out, please." She raises her hand and lets it rest against the large fusion's forearm, while she accepts the photo back with her other hand. "I guess I can be more abstract than some gems are prepared to deal with.."
~"Ok... that was really interesting and everything... but who are you? You apparently knew about me... but I don't have the slightest clue about who you are..."~
Carbide turns and regards the smaller firebox of a gem beside them.. "Er, sorry about that Chip, I'm Silicon Carbide.. or just Carbide for short usually. Morion has made mention of you on a few separate occasions, aaaaaaand if I know anything about what he might think of me, I'd say he has likely made mention.. perhaps cautionary mention.. of me to you as well. I am all about keeping an eye out and learning what I can wherever I go, and I've visited a few of your past battle sites scattered about this city and what not, sure seems like you know how to crank up the heat when need be, if my observations are correct. But please, if you wish to remedy your lack of slightest clues, feel free to ask whatever comes to your mind"
Carbide slings the shoulder bag over her shoulder and settles it comfortably, before trotting over a few paces and returning with the upended table, placing it back in it's place with only a few scuffs to show for it's adventure. Hooking her fallen chair with her toe, she flicks it up and catches it, setting it back snugged up to the table, then dusts her hands triumphantly and crosses her arms..

Gaspeite stays at a fair distance from the two, interested to see the chat between two of Morion's "friends?" to meet for the first time. "Nice one, sorry for the mess" She says to Carbide She lightens the opacity of her visor and waits on the side for the little chat to be done for, though ready to say something or answer when wanted. She thought that both had seen each other already, since this city isn't as huge as a continent. Her attention goes back to the owl, still looking in their direction. She already documented that animal, in one of her couple night walks, but this one had been staying around quite long, and would awkwardly be looking at them.
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Nov 19, 2016 19:39:05 GMT
Chip was thinking for a moment. Morion did mention a lot of different gems he was working with, or that were his allies... some were his enemies and there were few he mentioned in passing... but he couldn't remember hearing about Silicon Carbide... perhaps some indirect mention?
"I apologise, but if Morion mentioned you at all, I forgot it... but I don't believe he did... is there some reason I should be careful around you? And why were you visiting places I fought at? Almost seems like you have too much free time on your hands... "
He laughed a little.
"If I may ask... what is your relationship with Morion, I guess there is some?"
He asked. If Morion had some relationship with him, it was strange that he never mentioned him at all... or was Chip just so forgetful? Could be...
Post by ~Panzerschurke~ on Nov 22, 2016 7:07:08 GMT
Carbide chuckles and shrugs a little bit, not wanting to create too much of a tension within the group again so soon... "Hmm, no real reason I guess, it just seems like when I am around newer gems in his presence he always seems to remind them not to let my infectious 'free thinking' to vex them. He is somewhat more of a ...regimented... gem than I am, although he has had far more direct contact with the Diamonds and those immediately under them, on a more frequent basis for longer.. soo I guess that's understandable."
Her vision spheres seem to catch the direction of Gaspeite's gaze and follow it up to the rather strange looking owl.. sitting perched up high, while the sun is still out. Perhaps she was not the only watcher about the down town core today after all.
"As for our relationship... I guess an apt description that could apply to us is.. we are two lions, both drinking at the opposite banks of a small watering hole. I don't directly meddle in his affairs outside the tower, nor has he gotten in mine. On a few occasions we have spoken and shared information. I met him... ohh.. the first time was a brief encounter by the waterfront here in Empire City, months ago. Inquisitor Opalite and I had just attended an opera at the Opera house near the harbor, and after we had made some conversation with some of the city big-wigs, we carried on by ourselves down by the docks, where we encountered Morion in a duel with another gem."
Carbide taps her chin for a moment and her vision spheres glance upward as she gets her events in order to keep it short and sweet.. "Next time I saw him, I was investigating some anomalous events at the Alpha Kindergarten.. particularly a major explosion and some geological activity following shortly after. It was there that I was able to observe some of his little.. operation, and efforts to secure gem tech wherever he could find it. I will not deny the effectiveness of his little empire he has built, although I've found myself in less concurrence with his attitudes towards alien species and the worlds they inhabit..I am not eager to come to blows about it...this city doesn't need any more crater's or memorials."
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
