Gaspeite switches her attention from the animal back to the conversation, it was pointless and she thought it would be just being paranoiac to think that they'd be tricked by a gem changing it's physical appearance, AKA morphing.
"Well, it looks like the Earth is big enough for you both to have never met each other. In the end, Morion is the one that would have us meet each other indirectly, interstingly enough."
She says, as she observes both of them. Gaspeite overall had heard of and talked to both gems before these two met, and she felt like it was better to have them talk to each other, overwatching what happens because both were very different even though they both knew Morion.

"Infectious free thinking? So... you are one of those "independent" gems he is always talking about? I wouldn't worry too much about "infecting" me with your ways of thinking... I have my own and I am not going to change it anytime soon. Not even for Morion..."
He said. He might have been loyal to Morion, but he was still his own gem. And firmly staying out of any gem conflicts... at least the major ones... like the war with rebels...
"So you are... rivals... in a way? Though not mortal enemies... otherwise I can imagine he would try to impale you from shadows... or something like that... it seems wise to respect each other's uhm... fields of interest?"
He said after explanation he got. There was enough problems for gems on this planet without two powerful gems fighting each other. "I would very much prefer if you could avoid fighting in this city. I kinda like it... and I consider myself it's protector... so I would try to stop both of you... just a friendly warning."
He smiled kindly. He might look like a child, but his power wasn't completely insignificant. Though his powers were more useful in levelling cities instead of protecting them...

Carbide rises then chuckles and holds a hand out to chip..
"Personally I wouldn't have it any other way. I am not out to try and tell other gems what to do, but from time to time I might ask them to do what they know is right, and then back them up, because whats right and whats viewed as 'correct' by others can carry with it some... discrepancy. As for your city here, i solemnly swear that any mischief I get up to is non destructive. I was on my own for 1000 years in the fringe worlds after all, so I learned to see the value in individuals of other races, just like I am learning these humans here. Had I held onto the home world dogma of other races being below us.. it would have made for a rather lonesome millennium.."
She hoped to achieve some synchronicity with Chip, much as she already had with Gaspeite standing nearby. It was a funny position she found herself in, she knew that if she just picked a side one way or another that things could be arguably easier for her, but she had a knack for befriending cast-off gems and others who simply wanted to live in peace, and a few un sanctioned permafusions to boot. They all deserved a world to live on without having to contort who they were inside. A lot of good had been done by independent gems, without orders, the tricky part was, home-world didnt know that.
Glancing over to the tall fusion.."So did I overhear something to the effect of you trying to map or categorize or scan various parts of the city Gaspeite, or are you mostly out for a bit of your own enjoyment and enlightenment, with Chip here?"

Being fully invested into listening to Carbide, Gaspeite was surprised by the question directed towards her but still answers normally after glancing at her hand whom she usually uses for her screen.
"I was mapping the city and around it to pass time, when Chip found me. Luckily enough, because I wanted to find him. I wish to try a few different that I heard of, for example those "video games" because I finished mapping the city and I don't have anything else to do now. I think I will find some way to help other loyal gems and else here.
Gaspeite said as she thinks, her view not focused on anything, because she was trying to imagine what to do since there weren't any orders. She was good at deciding on her own, but the situation here was very strange as she was still not really acclimated with the whole resistance and corruption thing.
I might also visit the kindergarten or the sea spire sometime, to see how they are right now. The spire is still standing, isn't it?"

Chip smirked for some reason. Looked quite amused by something.
"I love how everyone is always like "Yeah, I spent 1000s of years doing this..." like it was nothing... I exist for few years and it already feels like an eternity... "
He said. Though there was something quite troubling about that. He was getting afraid, that he is like a fire... quick to emerge, burning brightly and strongly and then getting extinguished soon after that. It would explain, how he got so powerful so quickly...
He quickly shook his head in denial. He was a gem warrior after all, he was suppose to immortal.
"I am getting famous... having fusions searching for me... having thousands-of-years-old gem searching my battlefields... also don't assume I didn't notice you avoided my question about why you were there in the first place..."
He said, even though he totally didn't notice at first...

"Ah, well dont fret over it too much Chip, the more time you live, the more time you'll learn to give yourself to figure things out. Can't force true progress after all, least ways within ourselves. Now as for your previous question.. what am i doing here? Well, I will admit that I was hoping to bump into you sooner or later, however today, that was simply the polish on the gemstone. There hadn't been much action around Beach City in the past couple weeks, so I figured that a bit of travel time was in order. Normally busy places like this with lots of beings sort of grind at me after a while, but maybe theres somethign different about many humans as opposed to a whole citadel complex of gems, that is a bit more... relaxed? Also I admit I wanted to keep an eye on Gaspeite a little bit. Er...not that I know that that she's a big capable gem, but new planets can be somewhat .. taxing to take in.. so I figured I would make myself available as a 'pocket translator' to handle any issues of disambiguation that could come up.. eh.. heh heh.."
That last part sounded a little awkward, but it was more or less true, although she ultimately had some difficulty simply stating that she enjoyed Gaspeite's company as a friend, being one of the more rational and focused gems she had gotten to know in recent times.. and for Carbide, that was enough to enjoy sharing company, if it was mutually agreed upon.
"Er.. well Gaspeite, the video game things you mentioned, the closest way I could describe them, is by saying they are a combination of a virtual training program geared towards strategy and manual coordination... crossed with a recreational platform specifically for enjoyment. There are whole venues dedicated to these things, where they can be purchased for individual use, or terminals can be rented for currency in a commons room, to be enjoyed alongside others, often competing against one another, or by taking turns to try to best the previous player's skills and score."
Post by Zriphelo (Gaspeite) on Dec 22, 2016 21:33:46 GMT
"Well, I haven't been saying such thing, but I'm still happy that I have someone who is willing to give me a hand at anytime whenever I need it. And Chip, relax and take your time. If it feels like it was nothing for us it's only because it has already passed. Time feels like it passed very fast only after it has passed, that's always how it is." She says, in a reassuring tone, because there's not a lot of options to anser to that.
"I will certainly look into that, I think the room Morion lent me can hold one of those terminals, I want to try one of those war simulations. Anyway, I just need some directions to start off."
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Dec 23, 2016 18:42:26 GMT
"Well if you came to find some excitement here I'm afraid you will be disappointed... even corrupted gems aren't crazy enough to approach this city... last one that tried was some weird quartz, probably amethyst. It got blasted back to stone age... "
Chip boasted. The fact was, that it was prolonged fight, and Chip got slightly injured, but those were insignificant details. He wasn't going to bore them with it...
"And I still have no idea, why you wanted to meet me... "
It was puzzling. There were dozens of important gems around.
"You should be meeting important gems, like that His emergency the Exhausted Stalactite guy... "
"I think most gems would say, that computer games are just a huge waste of time... but I don't care much, I like playing them... I would rather simulate a big was then actually start one... "
It was easy to destroy some imaginary units on computer screens, but killing real humans or gems? He couldn't do that... he felt badly even when fighting corrupted gems... and when he defeated them, he just bubbled them... storing safely in his room...

Carbide busts out chuckling at Chip's description of the "important guy" who she was pretty sure must have been Opalite, from the sounds of it. It was quite refreshing to have a conversation go on for more than 5 minuets, without getting too uptight or preachy. As her amused chuckle tapers off after moment or two she takes a moment to respond.
"Well Chip, I know that there is supposedly one of the ruling Diamonds up above our heads on this Planet's moon and all that, but in the here and now of things, I find that it's the gems that are actually doing something that are important to the situation. SOme wish not to get involved, thats their choice, some are scared, and some are jaded.... and frankly, some kinda just like to feel like the whole great machine is moving along because they gave it the order to. I dont worry about that too much, personally. I deal with the boots that are on the ground, cuz theyre the ones walking the hard road, simple as that!"
Her smile beamed rather brightly as she wrapped up her little soap box speech there before scooting a bit closed to Gaspeite and going so far as to pop her head under one of the arms of the larger fusion and peer at her screen and all the mapping she had done, with a look of genuine interest.. all the while probably coming off as a teeny bit .. .quirky..
"Well for what its worth, I would rather waste time on a bit of 'fun' than waste lives on a war, especially if we can avoid it.."
Post by Zriphelo (Gaspeite) on Dec 27, 2016 15:41:34 GMT
Gaspeite would shut down her screen before noticing Carbide just peering under her right arm with an interested look, then she would bounce back on the interesting conversation that the two have been having.
"Well. War in this universe is inevitable, as much as anyone doesn't like it. Nobody wars because they find it funny. The gems were developing outside of human areas, but at some point they will have to do Something about them. That's how this ridiculous "war" on this site has started. Anyway, the situation on Earth is too unstable, a war will happen sometime with or without Her Majesty Pink Diamond. I just hope if it happens, Pink Diamond will already have helped the colony in any way."
She stops for a moment, looking back at the M tower.
"But for now, wasting some time in a multitude of occupations and widening one's knowledge is the best we can do, and I'm ok with doing that. Chip, are there usually a lot of gem monsters around? Cleaning the Earth of some of those could be a good pass time.
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 4, 2017 20:37:42 GMT
Chip signed. He was well aware about the Diamond above their head. And he still wasn't completely ok with that. Not that anyone was asking him... or caring about his opinion that much...
"I certainly have no idea what is the intention of Diamonds... I never met one before... I only heard about them... and not really that much. So the only thing I can do in the meantime is try my best... and follow the path I think is right... which is hard to do... but until the day one of the Diamonds will come to Empire city I will keep protecting it to the best of my abilities... "
"And I hope there won't be any wars on Earth... it would only bring destruction..."
And also would probably cause a lot of deaths... for gems and humans alike...
"You are asking me, the protector of Empire city if there are a lot of gem monsters around here? Of course they aren't... I wouldn't allow it..."
Though Morion was far more dangerous and much better hunter, Chip was still proud on his accomplishments in defending this city...
Post by ~Panzerschurke~ on Jan 10, 2017 7:54:41 GMT
Carbide chuckles and nods, listening to Chip, in such an uncertain time it was very refreshing to have some gems about who are certain of at least one thing. For the time being, Empire City would be safe from most things that would come its way, and in case things required a bit more than Chip coudl muster, there were certainly other gems that could be counted on.
"Well, you just keep doing what youre doing, which seems to be what you do best. In the mean time Gaspeite can do what she does best, as a herald for her diamond.. and me, well I guess I will have to do what I do best as well, which is try and deal with pressure from both sides of things. I was created to take the pressure of opposing tectonic plates and the heat that goes with, but I'll admit that it feels kinda strange to be stuck in a self appointed position of trying to foster some trust and peace between two warring factions, when I sometimes have a hard time feeling like I belong to either one.. or anyplace really.."
Her expression goes a bit solemn and thoughtful for a moment, as if she were actually listening to her own words in her head and really taking in what she just said about her position, precarious as it seems to be.
Post by Zriphelo (Gaspeite) on Jan 11, 2017 19:39:26 GMT
The fusion was slightly sad when she heard that Chip was doing all the job. At that rate, she's going to have nothing to do around here in the city. She wishes to protect what was worth at her eyes, and so since Gaspeite was blocked on Earth, protecting the Homeworld side of the party would be one of her first objectives until the diamond arrives. Being herself was a hard duty when not in, the possibility of doing her usual duties since her gems were both very different, but she undertsood that she's not the only one that has problems, it doesn't happen that after all that went down on Earth, nobody has any problems.
"I have no idea if peace will be easy to set, since the odds here are the opposite of the other. But with patience, let's say that what happens in the future doesn't go as bad as we imagine, the gem structures would look better if they stayed upright. I don't really know what to say, there isn't a lot of things for me to do that would be time-worthy..."
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Jan 11, 2017 19:52:36 GMT
Chip shook his head.
"I really think this entire conflict is stupid... I mean... there are so many planets all over the universe... is it really worth to fight because of one? Especially since there already are sentient beings on it? Even when those being are considered primitives. Though in my opinion a primitive could not build city this impressive... or create music, art... and so many awesome things... I'm really not happy about that. Then again if gems never got to Earth I wouldn't exist... and for me at least that would suck..."
Not existing would really be quite sub optimal. "Are there really resources on Earth that aren't on Venus? Or in the Pegasus galaxy... I don't get it..."
Perhaps there really were unique resources on Earth, it might happen... or just rare enough to be worth all this fighting... but somehow he doubted it...
Post by ~Panzerschurke~ on Jan 11, 2017 22:48:24 GMT
Carbide crosses her arms and drops her shoudlers heavily in a huff..it was always a bit of downer to have to explain stuff like this to such optimistic gems
"Chip, you just hit the nail right on the head without realizing it. The point of this whole conflict has nothing to do with the fact that Earth and its mineral resources are rare or not.
For aeons the gem empire has never really had anyone tell them "no" and backed it up to boot. This is less about need or resources or territory, than it is about ego.
I have found that with many races across the galaxy, the first time that somoene says NO to someone, its usually not taken so well, whether they are newly formed or an elder of their species. And when your pride as a culture and species hinges on the fact that up until now, youve always gotten your way and gone undefeated.. the first instance of that track record being threatened can be difficult to process."
Tilting her head slightly for a moment she returns her gaze to Gaspeite..
"So.. If you had all the freedom in the world Gaspeite, what would you want to do tonight on earth, that you would consider worthy of your time and attention. Lets figure that out and make that happen. You've got two minds working together to function as true and independent third, theres bound to be some ideas floating around in there about what you would like to experience!"
The heavy scout motions to make a light and fun hip bump against the fusion but then realizes that her side connected midway up Gaspiete's upper leg, due to her considerable stature....
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
