"Heeeeeeeyaah!" Amber wailed as she flew up and stabbed the monster in the neck with one of her arrows. The Corrupted Gem screeched, reeled and stumbled back, and threw Amber off its back. Amber landed on the cargo crates and slid to the ground. The cargo was unharmed; the creates were reinforced. The smol Gem weakly stood up, trying to distract the monster from Obsidian. The healing Gem smirked tried to dance around the monster and stood beside Obsidian. Amber was hurt, and weak, but she touched Obsidian's arm and began to do her Energy Transfer, giving Obsidian what energy she could to make Obsidian stronger and have a slight boost in her battling abilities. After she was done, she nodded towards the monster, who was hissing and preparing a full-out charge towards them. Amber slinked back against the wall weakly.
Obsidian couldn't describe what she felt, but it reminded her of the water in the healing fountain. My sheer willpower is making me stronger! she thought, not knowing that Amber was actually helping her. Now I`ll definitely have a chance at taking out this monster! She reached into her gem and with tremendous effort... summoned another shovel! She charged at the beast with her dual-wielding weapons.
The beast went all-out against Obsidian, charging with the very weight of it's body. Obsidian sprung into the air, one or two feet over the monster. It crashed into the far wall of the car as she landed. It roared angrily and charged again. This time Obsidian wasn't so fortunate, it rammed her to the edge of the train car. The whole made my the vulture was still wide open and Obsidian was lucky to grab onto the end of the floor. She hung, helplessly from the edge as the monster advanced. She felt a rush of adrenaline and emotion and quickly swung back into the car. She soared over the monster and landed behind it.
She ran past the monster before it could turn to face her, cleaving it with both shovels. She darted back and forth, across the monster slicing it over and over. It roared in pain every time it was hit, and every time it lashed out Obsidian was a little bit ahead of it. Obsidian leapt high into the air.
"GRAAAAAAAAH!" She yelled swinging both shovels into it's gem. The monster exploded into a large puff of smoke. Obsidian desummoned her shovels and scooped up the gem. She bubbled it and sent it away, looking peacefully into the sky. Suddenly, she crashed. The energy and rush she had received from Amber had expired. She collapsed on the floor, conscious, but unable to move. She panted heavily... her acts were much beyond her physical form.
Amber had watched the fight from afar. She smiled at Obsidian's victory, and closed her eyes soon after. The little healing Gem was weak from the collision, but she was just as overcome with relief. After a moment or two she crawled forward towards Obsidian. Once there, she collapsed on her stomach beside her. She turned her head to look at her, still with that sweet and soft smile and a proud twinkle in her eyes. "That was some good fighting," she said quietly. "You really showed it who's boss." She only hoped that no more monster surprises will happen. Things were bad enough now that the train was disconnected. How were they going to get the cargo to its destination now?
She rolled over onto her back and stared at the cargo. Yes, they had successfully defended it, but they had also failed their mission. She frowned.
(i thought Obsidian already bubbled the Gem? Amber was referring to the cargo lol)
"I-I don't know how to bubble!" Amber said, her eyes going wide. Could she even do it? Does she have the capabilities? How much energy would it cost? Panic settled in her eyed. Her, bubble the cargo? She was just a small little amber! She crawled towards the cargo, approached it. If they could bubble the cargo, they could carry it to their destination more easily. But Obsidian appeared to be too weak at the moment and Amber lacked the knowledge of doing it! Oh, what a dilemma!
But she couldn't let her friends down. Couldn't let Obsidian down. Couldn't let Morion down. Couldn't let Pink Diamond down. Swallowing a lump in her throat, she placed her hand on the crates. How hard could it be to bubble something?
"I would want to.. but I can't...get...up..." Obsidian mumbled. "All you've got to do is...uh.. it's hard to explain. I kind of put my hand under it and scoop it up and the bubble just forms... ow..."
"I think you can do it! I believe in you Amber... just... ow! Believe in me, because I believe in you! Then you believe in yourself because you believe in the 'me' that believes in you!" Obsidian shouted looking into Amber's eyes. "We can't let Morion down... I owe my life to him... please Amber... You've got to try, for me, for him, for yourself too. You need to know that you can do things like this..."
Amber slowly stood up, a bit shaken, and frowned at the cargo. Could she really do it? To bubble ALL of that? She couldn't even bubble regular Gems! She swallowed a lump in her throat, her face heating up to embarrassment and stress. She still wasn't feeling very up-to-par, but Obsidian was right: they couldn't let Morion down. If they did, it would be another failure, and failures always lead to disappointment and disdain. She didn't want to see her fears radiating from Morion's eyes, laced with venom, wielding a venom-lathered ax. That venom would make its way down to her very core, and kill her, slowly, from the inside out. It would constrict her like a cobra, a viper, a hideous snake, and she will drown beneath heavy weight of disappointment's sorrowful glare. Her hand tensed on the cargo. What did she have to do? She didn't know. She never known.
She closed her eyes and imagined a bubble. Her very own bubble. A pale orange, almost apricot, bubble. She imagined it growing. Growing. Swallowing the cargo, the crates, the only thing that mattered. The key to their success. Hug it, embrace it, house it in this spherical dimension that it'll soon call home. A bubble.
There was a tingle in her hands, a wave of heat, a flash of light that never faded. Amber opened her eyes and gasped; if she had an actual organic human pulse, it would be racing a million miles per minute (which would probably kill an actual human but thank the stars that she's a gem~). There, before her, surrounding the cargo, was a large peach-colored bubble!
"Maybe," Amber said nervously, looking at her bubble. "But we're going to have to carry that the entire way, no matter where we are going." She was still pretty amazed at what she just did. A bubble! Her first bubble, protecting precious cargo. She felt a strange sense of pride in that.
So, go home, or go to the train? Home seemed like an offley long way. Plus... there was the chance of disappointing Morion....
Her gaze darkened, her mouth set and straight. She clenched her fists. "We'll have to catch up to the train. I can probably carry you, and you can manage the bubble... but... even though it will be faster than walking my flight will be heavily weighed down. That is, well, you can not directly carry a bubble, right? Like... it can float beside you?" She didn't really know much. But regardless of their course of action, they needed to get this mission back in check!
Obsidian looked at the large bubble. It's contents looked heavy but since it wavered in the wind it appeared to be not as heavy as one would think. Almost as if anti gravity was in action inside the bubble. Obsidian lifted up the bubble doing what appeared to be her holding it in her hands when actually it was hovering about an inch above them, somehow snug in the air.
"I could... do this?" She said smiling. "Alright, I believe in you! Let's try to catch that train! I think you can do it at least! Let's give it all you got, and by that I mean... you can give it all you got. I`m just gonna hold this bubble!"
Amber nodded, wrapped her arms around Obsidian, and summoned her wings. She grunted as she tried to lift both of them off the ground, but she was able to do so in the end -just as she had done in the city. A smile was spread across her face. "We have a mission to finish!" She flew in the direction of the tracks. "Make sure you keep a good hold on that bubble! If we lost the cargo...." She didn't know what would happen, but she didn't want to find out.
It took all day, and even then they weren't completely caught up. The day disappeared into night. Clouds morphed into twinkling stars and the desert sun was bleached to a silver moon. The heat of the day disappeared; coldness was the new heat. The desert was beautiful at night, but beauty did not bring them any closer to the train. Amber flew, and flew, carrying Obsidian the entire time. "See anything?"
Obsidian scanned the horizon, looking for any signs of...well anything but sand! After a while she got restless and started to daydream. A song was stuck in her head... She started to bop her head as it took over her nervous system. The song eventually caused her to hum.
"Glaciers melting in the dead of night and superstars sucked into the su-per-mas-sive!" She whispered. "SUPER MASSIVE BLACK HOOOOOLE!" She yelled suddenly in a metal rock voice. Suddenly noticing both that she had lost control over her body and that she had probably bothered Amber she cringed.
"Ech! Sorry about that..." She said. But looking into the horizon she saw a black line that looked the thickness of a pencil mark. On it was a ball of darkness. The train!
"Over there Amber!" She said pointing toward it. "It's the train!"
Amber seemed shocked at Obsidian's seeming sporadic and random movements and shouting. Amber did not know the song. Amber did not understand. In Obsidian's thrashing, Amber nearly dropped her. She didn't, though, and fixed Obsidian with a distressed grunt. She sighed when Obsidian apologized and resolved in smiling softly in forgiveness. "It's okay."
When Obsidian pointed out the train, Amber looked up in pleasant surprise. Oh! That wouldn't be hard to catch up to at all. Putting on a burst of speed, she tried hard to catch up to the steam-powered transport vehicle. Once there, she flew beside the train until there was an opening in one of the cars. She tossed Obsidian inside before following in herself, rolling on the floor, collapsing finally on her back letting out a huff of exhaustion. "Oh my stars... at last!"
Obsidian smiled and rubbed Amber's hair playfully.
"I knew you could do it!" She said smiling. She then collapsed, still a bit tired from the fight. She forced herself into a sitting position and leaned back. She looked at the Cargo...It was safe. She looked back at Amber. "Oh no..." Her eyes widened.
"NOOOO! I left my Sombrero on that train car!" She pounded her fists on the floor. "I loved that sombrero.... I was gonna show Morion... Eh I'm over it"
She stood and watched the view. They were practically at the train station.
"We made it... I credit this to you mostly. You were a huge help..." Obsidian said, patting Amber on the back. Obsidian got comfortable and prepared for the return journey.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
