About: This thread takes place YEARS past; it is about the discovering of Earth and the organizing of parties into colonies to send to Earth. It's about how Homeworld planned to occupy Earth, the forming of their plans, how everything started. This thread will be for the "memories", forgotten and/or remembered, of those Gems who were "born" on Homeworld or their affiliated conquered planets and their lives here, their work here, and how they all prepared for the inevitable.
I note that, due to knowledge we do not know yet of Homeworld, such RP could prove to be difficult. As such, of course we will follow the site's main plot and rules, but do note that: no one can be a canon character (Garnet, Pearl, Rose) nor a Diamond; you CAN roleplay acting as if a Diamond had given your character an order (ie; summon the Ruby soldiers to go scout blah blah, fix this fix that, blah blah). However, this is PRE-Earth, meaning that you cannot be well-acquainted with Earth, and the Rebellion has not happened yet. Most, if not all Gems, at this point has never stepped foot on Earth. They are simply preparing and planning.
Also note that at this time era, Earth is not modern. Earth would be several thousand years younger than it is now.
Due to Homeworld being an unfamiliar ground to us, PLEASE describe with detail the lives and work your Gem did as well as the places and scenery on Homeworld. It'll help set a feel for everyone else as well as be an interesting way to throw together headcanons. As more information is revealed in the show, the more we can acquaint it to this RP.
Most Gems do not know what the Kindergarten is used for at this point. The only ones who WOULD know would be the Diamonds and the officials who are delegated to run such projects.
This thread is a chance to actually roleplay out your Gem's pasts. Make sure it stays up to canon with the history of your gemsonas. You can have little side-moments that stray off track a bit, like hanging out with a friend or two for a day, but make sure you get it back on track sooner-or-later. This also enables you to develop what your character was like before the influence of Earth, the Corruption, etc.
If your Gem is Corrupted this of course would be pre-Corruption. Corruption did not exist yet.
Have fun and be creative, though please try to stick to the canon and the site's canon as much as possible, please.
Without further ado~

Several periodic time sweeps ago, a new planet had been discovered. Curious, Homeworld sent out scouter bots to its coordinates. The machines came back with interesting results: the new planet, apparently called Earth, was located in sector galaxy 217 approximately point 75 degress East of facet galactic center-point K, and held so much promise considering its resources and materials. It seemed promising, really, to make it into a Gem settlement. Imagine all the spires and hubs that could be based there, and all the new, stronger Gems that would come out of it! The only possible problem would be the organic life forces there, but the droids revealed that they weren't too very advanced -having only the knowledge and instinct of survival, and of course some sort of heirarchy system in their settlements and civilizations, but nothing as remarkably advanced as Homeworld. Nothing could be as advanced as Homeworld. Nothing could be as advanced as the Diamonds.
Calls were sounded, orders were given, and Homeworld prepared. Information was still needed to be gathered, but that was the job for the scouting Rubies and a few Peridots that were going to be sent to the planet personally for further research. Until they come back with their much-needed results, the rest of the planet was preparing. New Gems were being made, others were being trained, and nearly all were getting ready for deployment.
For some, this would be their first mission since their birth -for others, it would be just another number. The former, though, was true for a specific individual that went by the name of Amber. 12F6LT Cut 7XH, ovoid cut, Amber. She had been around for a while, not too long of a while, but a while. She was a small healing Gem -and when described as small, she was very much that: small. She was rather short for her specific cut. She wasn't much like other Gems of the same type. Other Ambers were a bit taller, and more skilled in their craft. This Amber? She was small, and tried so desperately hard to perfect what she can do. The higher ups, the officials, never really liked her. They all laughed at her. But this WILL be her first mission, and she will be sure of it. She just had to work hard. She just had to get better. She just. Has. To be. Useful.
Currently the mentioned Gem was in one of Homeworld's many halls. These halls, unlike the halls across the field outside, were meant for the common Gems. Amber, sadly, was a common-enough Gem. Not too common, like Pearls -Ambers were very much higher than them; but they were of a common race, common enough to deserve common supplies and treatment. This hall was smaller than the aristocratic hall across from them, but it was huge in its own right. The floors were polished and clean and reflected those who stood upon it. The pillars were fancifully detailed and seemed almost transparent. The hall was for training, recreation, and respite as Gems awaited their daily assignments and missions. Amber was never called to one of these, but she still waited everyday.
The sky outside was a pale pink-blue. Stars were clearly visible, along with their solar streaks and mini twinkling suns that inhabited galaxies far, close, and wide. There was no wind; everything was still. Everything was normal. Everything was busy. Everyone was busy. It was Homeworld. Or at least, a section of Homeworld. These baracks were just a small part of something so grand, so big, something so prideful that all of its inhabitants followed its laws without second-thought or question, no hesitation, no worry. Everyone knew of their purpose. Everyone knew of their skills, as little or high they may be. Everyone knew their purpose: to serve the true and only pure beings of the universe, the Diamonds.
Amber closed her eyes.
Gotta serve Pink Diamond, her Diamond, Her Majesty.
Sighing, she turned to the common rooms of the hall. She wanted -no, needed- to find a sparring partner, or some sort of dummy to practice her healing magic on. She needed -no, wanted- to prove that she could do it; that this somewhat of a defective Amber can indeed play with the big dogs.
That she can be useful.
Perhaps she could practice with a Ruby, or a Spinel, or anyone, really. She just needed to work. To train. To earn.
To be useful. For her Diamond.
