After few steps Chip was surprised by some weird transparent eel. Before he even knew, what he should do he stabbed it by instinct. It wasn't enough to poof it, but it was enough to get it angry! And it ate the artefact! The stupid eel attacked Chip, wrapped around him... but this wasn't working on Chip anymore! Once it was enough for him!
"You stupid transparent fish! I am an eternal flame! You can't poof me!"
He yelled while flaming wings emerged from his back, burning the stupid creature. Once it let go he just stabbed it again! This time he kept stabbing it.
"You can't play with fire without getting 3rd degree burns!"
He yelled to cover the fact, that he was scared to death.
The Eel continued to constrict, seemingly unharmed by the flames. For a moment it was as if Chip was going to be poofed. Suddenly the Eel hollered in pain and leapt off of it's prey. It had been pretending to be strong, a similar façade to Chip's. It continued to burn and squeal until it poofed. It's gem and the glove dropped on the floor where it had been. They weren't even damp from the sickly residue that would have been inside the eel. It's gem was blue and in a trillion shape. It was hard to identify exactly what type of gem it was, but it was clearly a Quartz. Lightning flashed outside, the storm showed no sign of subsiding.

The stupid eel was much tougher than Chip suspected, but the fire eventually got him. It just took more time... Chip sat down for a moment to catch his breath... so to speak. He bubbled the gem and sent it home. His second bubbled gem... hehe...
After few moments of resting he picked the artefact. One done, two to go... this time his target was the fifth floor. That he remembered clearly. But the last one was still a blur... it was something ending with "teen"... probably. Instead of thinking he just walked to the elevator. At first he went slowly, but the creepiness of this place urged him to go faster and faster, last few steps he ran. Once he was there he started quickly mashing the button to 5th floor...
The doors opened, giving their ominous clanging sound. The second artifact was nowhere to be seen. The room was bare except for more paintings. The paintings were of more humans, none were very remarkable. None except of course, the largest. A painting of the creepy man. A piano was before him, one would have expected it to be playing itself, but it was silent. What appeared to be blood dripped from the floor above onto the piano. At first, the landings of the blood droplets seemed improvised, but with closer examination one could see that they held to a pattern. Were they playing a song? This would be a strange occurrence due to the fact that the loop of the 'song' was quite short.

The elevator door opened to another room. And it was a creepy one, what a surprise... there were some painting, which were, even bigger surprise, also creepy. And there was a blood leaking from the floor? Shiny... the problem was, that Chip did't see any artefacts around here... he double checked, but still nothing...
"Uhm... hello? Anyone here?"
He said quietly. He didn't want to say it quietly... it just came out that way... he walked into the room, looking all around, trying to find the artefact. It had to be here, somewhere... well if the creepy vanishing guy told him the truth... how the heck did he even know where the artefact were? Chip was getting frustrated very quickly...
The blood dripping onto the piano made an odd pattering noise. The noise only aided to the frustration and dull atmosphere. It was strange how the blood dripped in a sort of pattern. There was a possibility that the piano was somewhat related to the artifact. The Piano was linked to some haunted and mysterious actions, could the artifact be somehow hidden in the Piano or related to whatever caused the blood's rhythmatic dripping? Suddenly a low moan was heard from far above. The moan was high above chip, several floors up, but it was bone chilling. A cold wind blew through the room, Lightning flashed, the rain was coming down harder. The piano keys were somewhat clean, the blood strangely trickled off of them every time it hit a key.

Chip wasn't one to solve mysteries... even in his room where he was as safe as he could be he always skipped all the riddles and mysteries in his games... or looked for solution on the internet. The slow dripping was slowly driving him crazy, the rain and lighting outside was just reminding him, that he was locked in this stupid manor. When he heard the moaning it was the last strew. He just held his lance in both hands and started to fire well... fire all around him.
"I WON'T BE DEFEATED BY HOUSE!!!"
He yelled and sliced the piano in halves with the mighty blade.
"YOU ARE PLAYING WITH FIRE, HOUSE!!!"
He continued to yell, not even realising he just threatened an inanimate object.
The Piano crumbled as lightning struck outside. As the blinding light burst into the room a small key fell out of the piano. It was the artifact! Just then, the blood dripping from the ceiling lost it's pattern and went erratic. Blood gushed from the sixth floor, quickly filling the room. It was almost as if the Piano was keeping the blood moving at a medium pace, and without it's absence all was brought into discord. The blood filled the room at an unnatural rate, it soon became imminent that the room was about to flood. Lightning struck fiericely outside. Then, if that wasn't enough, the elevator doors began to shut on their own. Chip had a small window of time to grab the key and to escape the room.

Chip grabbed the key quickly. He turned to leave this room before something terrible happen... he was too late. An ocean of blood started to fill the room. It was... nauseating. And the door to elevator started to close quickly. Chip's anger was too much... he burst into flame, literally. Blood around him started to boil, his wings shoot forward, both grabbed the door, keeping them opened.
"You can't beat me HOUSE! I AM THE ETERNAL FLAME, REMEMBER IT!!!"
He yelled as he squeezed himself in the elevator. Once he was there he just let the door close. He was getting exhausted quickly, this place was draining him... both physically and emotionally. He just closed his eyes and imagined he was back at his room in Empire city, playing his games, eating cookies...
He had two artefacts... one was missing... but what level was it on? He had no clue...
"Hey! Weird dude? Are you there somewhere?! Which level was the last artefact on, c'mon!!!"
The elevator seemed to start moving on it's own. The button "thirteen" was pressed. the elevator started moving slowly, but it quickly picked up speed. Eventually the elevator was moving so fast that Chip could feel wind on his face as he approached the cursed floor. There was a loud thud when he arrived on the third floor. The doors opened ominously. the room was mostly bare, a crystal ball was on a table at the far end of the room. Incased in the crystal ball was a hole that looked like the shape of a gem. The crystal ball had a hole in it, hinting that the gem had left that spot. The man, St.Pierre was on the floor next to him. He was of course, drenched in blood, most likely dead. He had a piece of paper in his hand.

The elevator started to move on it's own to the floor thirteen. It was apparently the floor with the artefact... otherwise why would the elevator move there? Or was it the floor that he had to avoid? It wasn't important, he was the Fire Opal Chip! Some stupid house could not beat him!
Well until the door opened and he saw weird room with dead guy near the crystal ball that once housed a gem... if Chip could throw up he would... if he could faint he probably would do that too.
He gathered the rest of his courage and went to the corpse. He had no idea what happened here, but he didn't care much. He just wanted to be gone! He noticed, that the dead guy was keeping a paper in his hand. He pointed his lance on him, in the case he would try to get back to life... with other hand he picked up the paper and look at it...
The paper appeared to be a list that the creepy man had made. It fortunately listed the artifacts and their locations.
Artifact 1, the glove. located on the third floor
Artifact 2, the key. located on the fifth floor
Artifact 3, the clock, located on the fifteenth floor, the roof
NEVER ENTER THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR
At that point it seemed appeared as to why one shouldn't enter the thirteenth floor. Lightning flashed outside, illuminating St.Pierres corpse. A cold wind blew through the room. Suddenly, the moan was heard again, directly behind him. Before he could turn around, a mirror in front of him caught his attention. His reflection had shifted into that of a green gem with shoulder length hair and pale green skin.
"It seems...that a young gem has gone astray..." The gem in the mirror said.

He picked up the paper and read it content. It was the list of all the artefacts. Well the good news was, that he now knew, where he should go. The bad news was, he was on thirteenth floor... he was about to run like a wind, when heard the moaning again... and some other gem appeared in the mirror before him... even started to talk to him. That, strangely, calmed him a down a little...
"Yeah... and who are you? And why are you in a mirror? What is going on here?!"
He asked the mirror / gem. He didn't know, if he wanted to help, or just laugh at him about how much screwed he was... it remain to be seen.
"Me? I am Sulfur... and I am the reason for all of the... movement so to speak in this manor." He said calmly. "Goodbye gem... it was nice of you to drop by... something leapt at Chip from the darkness behind him. It's arms were visible in the corners of his eyes, swinging it's claws at him attempting to impale him right in the gem. St.Pierre recovered, but had lost quite a bit of blood. He rammed his body against the elevator with all of the strength he had left. The elevator door opened, inviting in the pale green light. Sulfur glared fiericely at the human.
"RUN! SAVE YOURSELF!" yelled St.Pierre. The beast sprung toward St.Pierre and lopped his head off. In the pale green light it became visible.

Once he said, he was responsible for this, Chip turned to leave, only to see something attacking through the shadow. He jumped sideways to avoid it. He was saved by the rude human... thanks to him Chip had the time to make it to the elevator. But the human paid for it with his life...
As he pushed the right button in the elevator he pulled up his lance to bath the entire room in fire, but in last moment he stopped. He hated violence, he was never going to shatter any gem, even if that gem tried to kill him. That wasn't who Chip was... or wanted to be. Only one floor... and he could hopefully leave this creepy place... and then nuke it from orbit... somehow...
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
