It was getting colder and colder... small pieces of ice were dropping on ground all around him. The tempreture was getting far bellow zero, not quite enough to endanger gems, but quite enough to freeze all water solid.
"You are not listening to the voice of reason... unfortunate..."
He said. Once she run to him he just blocked her attack with his shield, freezing himself to ground to avoid being knocked down again. He had few more trick, after all he was an acomplished diplomat... they had to think of anything... because diplomacy was combat too... just with words instead of fists...
"I give you one last chance to calm down... and we could brush this off as a simple... training...
The moment she arrived, Sapphire had summoned his shield and frozen his legs to the ground. He faced the circular blue shield towards the attack. Going for the next best thing, she put one foot on the shield and pushed herself off of it, causing her body to arc, her eyes still locked onto him. Landing on two feet, she was now given a chance to recollect her thoughts. Lazuli noticed that her left foot -the foot she had pushed off the shield with- felt colder than the rest of her body, causing her face to become slightly worried.
That went well... he managed to stood his ground for this moment, which wasn't all that bad given how powerful Lazuli gems could be. "Are you prepared to listen to reason now? Or do you want to continue this pointless endeavour? There is literally no reason for two of us to fight."
He said while the ice around his feet disappeared. His shield was still ready to deflect every attack Lazuli could throw at him, or so he thought. He was still puzzled about why she reacted so violently, he spoke the truth when he told her that he didn't see anything. At least anything substantiation, just quick images without any context, that meant nothing to him. One thing was certain, this Lazuli wouldn't make it as a diplomat... too quick to anger...
Her eyes wandered around, glancing between his feet and the shield. A smirk emerged on her face and he rushed at him, her arms swinging in front of her body as if she was trying to gain momentum with them. Seconds later, she crashed, the pair flying through the air before skidding along the ground, edging closer to the drop-off of the stadium. Lazuli, now pinning down Sapphire by kneeling on him, began turning over the few appendages she had until she found the deep blue gem , keeping its respective appendage overturned as she searched frantically for a broken rock before he recovered from the hit. He started to move ever so slightly, and her eyes darting around the scene in an effort to find the sharpest rock.
This was getting really annoying incredibly fast. This gem was clearly unstable and dangerous and Sapphire felt that he had nothing to gain by staying here. With Lazuli charing to another attack he moved incredibly fast, avoiding he attack and moving himself on the warp pad, his shield still prepared...
"And with this I am leaving... this unfortunate situation no longer holds my interest... we both said and done things that you are going to regret... of that I am certain. Attacking a noble is punishable by shattering... as you are well aware of..."
He said, standing on the warp pad, prepared to use it to get somewhere safe. He still had no idea why Lazuli went completely mental, but she probably had some misguided reasons. Right now he was giving her last undeserved chance to appologize for this... though he didn't expect it...
She felt her knees hit the smooth ground before she realized he had escaped her grasp. A scowl made itself present as she turned toward the warp pad, where the other gem's voice was coming from. Confident she had won, she called out to the short gem. "Regret? As if! You're just afraid! Too weak to finish a fight!" She gained footing, and swiped her hand in an almost crescent-like motion. "No point in fleeing coward! Why engage in a fight you're unwilling to finish?" she mockingly taunted. "So you might as well stay awhile!" a glinting shimmery rock zipped towards blue gem, clicking off his shield. Lazuli's previously amused face dropped a bit until she found another suitable rock to attack with.
Sapphire was surprised, to say the least, when Lazuli accused him of "not wanting to finish the fight". Was she crazy? Or perhaps she was just cracked?
"You are the one who engaged in this fight... I am no warrior and I don't pretend to be. I offered you my help, you attacked me instead. Therefore I see little reason to remain here... and a small observation... attacking diplomats is quite cowardly move, hence it seems that you are actually the coward here... "
He said while a stone bounced harmlessly of his shield. It was completely empty gesture, especially since a single thought could take him far away from here... Lazuli was quite crazy, but she was talking once again... perhaps he could learn something more before he departed?
"I assure you, fool, I am no coward, just the same as that you are no diplomat! Who cares if you're a warrior or not; leaving a fight is cowardly regardless!" her tone gained an edge to it. "And if you see no reason to remain, why are you still here?" she inquired curtly, eyes still locked into a malicious glare, still tracked on his every move as if she was some sort of predator. Her stance was low, and she was attempting to anticipate wetter her would attack her or simply warp away like the coward she perceived him to be. She waited for a moment to strike, a moment when he would lower or at least move the small protection he had, allowing her to strike on a whim.
"You are mistaken. I am neither coward, nor a fool. I just have absolutely no desire to fight you. I can't defeat you, and you would need a lot of time to defeat me... also I care very little about your artificial rules of combat. You were made to fight... I was made to be a diplomat... that is the only reason I remain here, because I still hope you will regain your composure, which would allow us to end this pointless skirmish. I warn you though, I will leave this place the very instant you move in my direction. And one further addendum... I was visiting enemy territories for hundreds of years, often for months, surrounded by enemies from all sides... and if I didn't fear them, why do you think I would be afraid of you? There is just absolutely no gain from fighting you..."
He said, standing firmly without moving. It was quite frustrating, like talking to a stone after lobotomy. Warrior gems were like that... no brain, just fighting... solving all problems with punching. And this one probably got punched back too many times. On homeworld this gem would be shattered even for speaking with Sapphire this way... actually attacking him would earn her a much grimmer fate... and much slower. Homeworld had some perks to be sure...
Frozen fractals formed around her, slicking the ground in their wake. Her lips twisted into a small snarl, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. She dropped into a crouch, nearing no closer to him. Unbeknownst to even herself, the transparent ice melted and quietly rushed towards him, surrounding his feet and quickly froze, creating a barrier between Sapphire and the pad. Lazuli's anger faded, replaced by surprise, as she gazed at him, ice covering his feet. Still in a partial happy surprise, she lunged at him, attempting another tackle. Her gem gleamed in the cold, midday sunlight as she kept her eyes tracked on the blue opponent. Arms outstretched, the Lapis Lazuli was moments away from impact. Blue masses collided, and both went tumbling, skidding towards the edge.
Lazuli had some tricks up her sleeve... but not enough. She surprised him with the ice, but problem was, that ice was kinda his whole thing. With single thought the ice shattered, freeing him. Lazuli charged him, prepared to attack him again. Even if she succeeded she would achieve nothing... she could poof him with just punching... even if she overcame his shield and her water powers were useless against him.
"You made a powerful enemy today..."
He managed to say, before he activated the warp pad. He had absolutely zero interesting in staying here. Fighting was something for rubies... quartzes and brutes... he was above such primitive means of solving problems. Yet he was still quite puzzled as why the Lazuli acted so agressively...
Her lone body began to uncontrollably spin out after Sapphire returned to the pad, the world running circles around her. She gained stance quickly enough to see him leave, A smirk appearing on her lips, quickly devolving confusion. Her eyes wandered down to her hands as she crouched alone on the platform and wondered How'd that even happen? Never seen anybody like m'self do somethin' like it. One could almost say her eyes were gleaming with joy, as if the Sapphire had never even arrived. A large grin appeared on her face as she opened her blue palms and reached for the sky.
The sun was now dipping out of the lavender sky as the moon rose once more. More small cracks had been made since Sapphire had left, giving the impression that the battle had been much worse. One more ran across the broken marble as the nearby Lazuli let out a cry of frustration. All day she had been trying to use her newfound powers from the battle, but had since had little luck in doing so once more. If you were to observe the cracks carefully, you could see condensation forming around the edges, newer ones still expelling mere wisps of steam.
Her breath was visible in the chill of the night, her blue exterior bathed in moonlight. Finally, the blue lady allowed a sigh of defeat to escape her lips. As she gazed at the tops of the clouds. Her eyes fell upon a gap between the white masses, and she could see a large, glimmering body of water, far off in the distance. Lazuli dropped into a squat, her hand touching the cold marble-like surface as it became a sturdy beam, supporting the rest of her body in its position. For hours she merely sat, watching the clouds roll by, periodically revealing and covering up the open patch of sea.
Lazuli's crystalline eyes drooped comically as she rose to her feet for the first time in what seemed like weeks. Sluggishly, she lumbered over to the glistening warp, its surface clear as ever. Blue light engulfed her weary form, and soon, nothing was left of her.
Morion: Oh, there! I must say, you look fabulous in this purple/magenta colour! You would look better in our Imperial, Homeworld-loyal sky-blue tho', but... nobody is perfect. Just the Diamonds

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
