Pyrope was a little unnerved by Chip's reaction, it wasn't difficult to tell he was hiding his resentment for them. And his last comment sounded rather... sinister. Despite the fact, she continued on with XB in silence. She watched the rubies fly off in their shuttle, trying to remember when the last time she saw a ship fly like that was (without getting lost somewhere off planet of course). Her attention returned as XB spoke, "Hmm... a populated center eh? Well, there is a few places but... AH! I know, not too far from here there is a district that humans gather to purchase items of all sorts of kinds. A market area of sorts, lots of stores and people. Shall I lead?" Being the navigator Pyrope took the lead and began to walk towards the closest market square available. While XB didn't say it, she imagined they wanted to lose Chip in the mess of a crowd. Of course she didn't think it was her place to point out the gem could easily fly and find them again, but maybe XB had a plan for that... right?

"They seems to have no intention of coming to you right now... since it seems yellow Diamond sent them, that makes you wishes relevant, since you follow Blue Diamond? At least that was their logic... or something like that... I doubt their are going to acknowledge your dominion over this city..."
He said to communicator, while still following them from the air. He didn't try to be stealthy... he belonged to this city, they didn't... yet they acted like they own the place. The fusion actually looked quite reasonable... that other gem... not so much. He was looking more and more like a zealot... and letting a zealot running wild would be a mistake. He could potentially endanger a lot of innocent people...
"It is a bit unfortunate, yet somewhat expected... Yellow Diamond is the worst thing that happened the Gem Empire, and her followers, tho' not all of her Court are warmongering, egoistical brutes... the only difference from a Corrputed Gem Monster and an everage Yellow Diamond follower is the Monster's sanity..."
The Smoky Quartz murmured
"Anyhow, if they are loyal servants of the Diamonds, they will be treated as guests. Naturally I expect some civility from my guests... but if they are from the Yellow Court, then we need to be patient and understanding with them. After all, they are... Gems, like us. Just not that smart and refined, like you and me.
"Follow them... watch them, and help them. And if they disturbs the peace and harmony of our city, or endanger it? Punish them. Or call me..."
7XB was more than willing to allow the fusion to take point, they were the ones who knew the way, after all. And besides, it left the Quartz free to formulate a plan that would do away with their unwanted chaperone. They were unperturbed by the dainty, fleshy creatures that parted like a sea before, nor the occasional oblivious pedestrian that bumped into them like a simple ant, barely sparing a menacing glance. No, they were much too engrossed in their own thoughts, though they did notice the wall of humans thickening as they likely drew closer to this 'market' that Pyrope spoke of.
"You've been here since the beginning?" It was both a question and a statement, a serious soldier's attempt at polite conversation even as they cut their gaze skyward.
7XB had a idea, not something they were overly fond of, mind you, but an idea nonetheless.
They tried to appear more relaxed, pale digits curling against their palm as their gauntlets faded into stardust. "This entire planet reeks of..something." something only organic life ever seemed to produce.
Pyrope kept an eye on Chip as best she could, occasionally bumping into the odd human as she stole glances back at him. Every time she mumbled something like, "Sorry." "My bad!" "Excuse us." But they did eventually reach the market without incident, where she took a moment to survey around (glad her height let her see above the average human. As she was scouting around she almost jumped as XB addressed her, not fully sure how to respond. This gem didn't seem like the one for small talk, perhaps they were trying to figure out how much she knew? There was an awkward silence as Pyrope thought it over, "Well, more or less. We were deployed here with a few dozen other pyropes of our cut to serve as guards like I mentioned. We were sent here after the central intelligence was made however, so the colony was a number of years old already. But as far as things go, I suppose we were one of the first gems here." Again there was silence as Pyrope didn't know how to proceed, did they want her to keep up the conversation? Still trying to feel around this gem's personality she continued, "What about yourself, how uh... how long have you been assigned to working on Earth? I imagine this is your first time being here after all." She followed up by sweeping a hand around to gesture at the packed section of city around them, "We're here by the way, what now?"

Chip flew closer to both gems. He didn't care much that they didn't want him along... he didn't listen to their orders.
"You will be pleased to hear, that Morion consider you guests in his domain. He won't try to stop you as long as you won't disrupt the harmony of our little city or endanger any of his subject. He instructed me to help you in your quest... and also to keep an eye on you... so please, don't even try to loose me... it will be much better for all of us, if we cooperate... we are on the same side after all..."
He said to both of them. They didn't start exactly well, but if Morion wanted Chip to help them, he would help them. And if he wanted him to punish them if they do something bad he will do his beast to do so...
A conglomeration of strong, alien smells assaulted them at once, their pale features twisting in sudden, surprising disgust. "Oh my stars!" They practically wretched as they covered their mouth and nose with their palm, desperate to smother out whatever this stench was that permiated this market, radiating from the greasy wheeled carts the humans seemed to gather around like cattle.
"What..What is that? Ugh.." after a moment it was more bearable (but certainly no more pleasant!) "Oh, um," it seemed they had forgotten about the meaningless conversation they had insisted on a moment ago in their displeasure, "ahem..We are not quite sure, I reported in at the Moon base three days ago and was briefed about the..Situation here on earth." The Quartz inclined their head towards their floating third wheel. "I am at Pink Diamond's serve until she has no need of me, or Our Diamond recalls me. It..May be awhile." They fully expected to be on earth until this insurrection was put down, and by the look of it, that would be some time. 7XB was, in truth, relieved, "And here I thought this would be another boring post."
And then it spoke, the Opal.
Their teeth ground in frustration at the both the unwelcome surveillance and the interruption. " If you really serve Pink Diamond," they began loudly, turning quickly on their heels, "perhaps I can find some better use for you." The mission. Took. Precident.
Pyrope nodded along as XB explained their assignment, silently noting their disgust of the human food carts. She thought to maybe introduce them to the idea after they had seen a bit more and got more comfortable with their surroundings. Although, judging by their interactions so far, XB didn't really seem like the kind of gem who got comfortable with anything. Before she was able to continue the conversation Chip came back into range, she turned towards him with a neutral expression about her. To be honest, she didn't exactly mind the gem following them (after all he wasn't doing any harm) but she worried he was likely going to be making enemies in the wrong places if he didn't watch himself around XB. Content to play the guard role she stayed silent and let XB do the talking.

That quartz was still quite distrustful. Chip decided to tell him truth... or... parts of it anyway.
"Yes, I was made for Pink Diamond... but I emerged after the Kindergarden was destroyed... so I never met any Diamond yet... but since my Diamond is now on this planet's Moon I think it won't be too long before I'll come to her service. But until that happens I will continue to help Morion."
He explained. He did conceal some minor details. "But you seem eager to continue with your mission, so let's continue... whatever it might be..."
He said. He was told to help this quartz so he will, but protecting this city took precedence for him. So he was basically here to protect this city from this gem's mission. But as long as his mission didn't put the city or it's people at danger he was going to help him as much as he could...
In the mind of this particular Quartz soldier, it was far more prudent to distrust those that may prove truth worthy than to foolishly place faith in someone with ill intentions. You live a lot longer that way, 7XB had found. The mention of the kindergarten was of some interest to them, interested as they were to see if the rumors were true.
"Then perhaps you should return to the Moon base with us," they drawled quietly, or as quietly as one could to a listener several stories in the air. " I'm sure your Diamond would be pleased to finally have you return to her." By 'us' they meant not only themselves but, presumably, the Pyrope fusion as well. They must be eager to return to civilization, right? They never felt the need to ask if they were returning to the base.
They had assumed. After all, they shared the same Diamond, they were practically part of the team already.
"We are looking for gems, non combatants," they felt the need to emphasize, " technicians, kindergarteners.." anyone that needed to be off planet when the match was finally struck. " Soldiers too, and anyone else who has gone missing on this planet." Despite what the Opal may thing, there were thousands of unfortunate gems trapped here. And worse, many of them had no business fighting.
Pyrope's attention was constantly elsewhere, keeping an eye on the surrounding area for any other gems making their way to them. While she didn't exactly distrust Chip, she certainly didn't want to leave their safety to chance on the off chance another gem (whether or not they were affiliated with this 'Morion') came and started trouble. Without turning her attention to the both of them she spoke, "Completing the mission would be a good idea, while the rebels have no idea what we're up to." She did however snap back as XB mentioned going off planet. The idea first sounded ridiculous, everyone had been stranded here for the longest time after all, but she realized it was entirely possible. After so long on this planet she had the chance to leave! And yet...
"With all due respect XB... I think my skills are better used here, I think I'll stay planet-side and do what I can." As much as she was nervous, she kept a somewhat calm exterior hoping XB wouldn't find her request too strange. In all honesty it was true, she was by no means skilled in other fields, but her reasons for wanting to stay were less than normal.

Chip was stunned for a second by the offer. It was strange... since he didn't really need anyone to reach the moon. He didn't try to fly to space yet, but he knew he could... and Moon wasn't that far. Morion told him, that Lazuli gems were able to cross galaxies on their own...
"Yeah, possibly... "
He answered. The truth was he was afraid to meet Pink Diamond. He was after all incomplete... his gem was fixed, but his knowledge wasn't... he still missed a lot. And he very much doubted, that this was his intended form... then again this could have been Pink Diamond's plan all along? He didn't know... "Well as far I know, most kindergardeners, healers and technicians were wiped out at the beginning of the war... and if they are some in Empire city they are masters of hiding... since we keep quite the watch over this city..."
Then again this city was HUGE, it wouldn't be hard to loose Godzilla in this city... much less few gems. Morion had servants, surveillance, the invisible ship... and much more, but even he couldn't have eyes everywhere... could he?
After all Chip met several non combat gems... like Ice, Obsidian, Flurry, that one strange Lapis... so there probably were a lot of gems like that out there...
"Then again there shouldn't be any Crystal gems here... so this city is a safe port for all gems... so as good place to start as any..."
The Smoky Quartz stalked the city in the form of a the big, black (alien) feline ( closer to a Thanator than an Earth panther, but close enough) ; hindig in the shadows, leaped from tree to tree, runing on all six His strong paws, sharp claws helped him on his way Monstorous form climbed on the side of the buildings, warped in smoke and darkness, shadows and silence Silver eyes watched the streets from time to time, while Morion rested on a roof, or a balcony, or simply diging his claws deep in the glass and steel, on the side of a building After a few puwerfull jumps the Smoky Quartz perched like a gargoyle on the top of a roof, watched the streets below He had complate faith and trust in the young Fire Opal, but liked to keep an yes on his young apprentice From his dark hiding spot, in the shadow of a balcony the Assassin watched Chip and the two new Gem... watched and waited, listened
And there it was again, the fire of suspension illuminating their expression as the Quartz turned their attention away from the Opal,as if some alarm had gone off, causing 7XB to scrutinize the fusion all over again; yet again the seemed strange when they were the sole focus of the Quartz gem's attention.
"What?" They questioned rather demandingly, a brief quirked for a brief moment before they were blissfully distracted by another bothersome musing from the skyward gem and..Something else. Something out of the corner in their eye, in the distance..Perhaps nothing, perhaps not. "War? The real war hasn't started yet, didn't you both just insist that yourselves?" They motioned vaguely about with their left hand, "regardless, if any do the remain you may be correct. This city is an optimal place to begin my search. A real search." He wondered how 'under control' this city really was, humans wandering about..Easy enough for survivors, or rebels, to go undetected. "Your assistance would no doubt be pleasing to your Diamond." Was that not enough of a reward?
There was a sort of surprised jump from the fusion as XB whipped around, unnerved by the direct questioning. Luckily before she began to stutter over her own words XB's attention drew elsewhere, Pyrope letting out a little sigh of relief. She did feel like Chip's point had to be backed up however, "Well, technically there has been no fighting... as of late. At the first cut off point things were relatively violent, a sort of a hostile take over of the whole joint. After that, most Homeworld gems have been in hiding." She nodded along, "Exactly, a full search would be smart. All the loyal gems who are in hiding need to be assured it's safe to return back." She imagined that thankfully, once word started spreading, more and more gems would come out of hiding and return to service so they could finally start operations on this planet once again. "No matter the situation, this city is as good a place to start as anywhere else. Especially if it is indeed rebel free, Homeworld gems should be all the more... prevalent."
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
