Warped into a a furious snarl, she launched her shield at the Quartz. It curved in a golden arc before becoming wedged between the opposing shield and the coral hands, shattering soon after. Quickly she resummoned her protection, her legs practically fastened into the ground. Again, and again she tried to break the Quartz's shield, for the majority of her throws had either wedged themselves and shattered, or just bounced off. Finally, one shield finally lodged itself in the blue barrier, staying for awhile longer than the other shields. 82 panted heavily, as summoning so many weapons had taken a toll on her body, and subsequently, her gem. But even then, the lodged shield would shatter soon. "My Clarity, you must flee here. I'm running out of options, and some of the few choices I can still make would cause me to leave your side." the Jasper spoke, not turning her head to address him, rather doing it with her words.
Sapphire remained unmoved the entire time. At least from the outside, who knew what was going through his head right now. But he was still an accomplished diplomat, very good at hiding his emotion.
"This is so absurd I shouldn't be even dignifying it with a response... but to avoid unnecessary conflict I will. My Diamond, her glorious majesty Blue Diamond herself..."
He showed the very apparent blue diamond symbol on his belt.
"Sent me to planet Earth with 4 ruby guard and one quartz soldier to... keep an eye on her interests... shortly after landing we were attacked by a large group of rebels, my guards fought valiantly, giving me enough time to escape, as this loyal Jasper is trying to do, as any loyal gem would do. But this time I won't run, I have no intention of leaving loyal gems behind anymore..."
He said with suprisingly strong voice. He completely ignored his threat of hurting sea creatures.
"I don't know if you're misguided, mistaken or are just looking for a fight, but there is enough unnecessary fighting among gems on this planet. I won't add to it by this wasteful conflict..."
The only thing that puzzled him was where did the gem got dolphins and baby whales this close to the shore... most unusual.
Ice stayed put. He was an engineer, this was no time for him to be butting in. Still, the whole situation bothered him, he looked up at the organisms trapped in the big coral hands. He had spent years trapped in an iceberg floating along in the ocean, but when he saw these little water creatures, they used to raise his mood, just a little. Now he felt mixed, he didn't want them to die for no reason, but he knew it wasn't his place to say otherwise. He wasn't sure if Blue Quartz would be able to hear him, but he tried to yell up to her from his ice platform. "Hey!" Ice took a gulp, getting worked up again, "Uh, maybe we should just let the organisms go, I... just don't think they're working" Ice paused for a moment before adding "Maybe he isn't a rebel after all?"
The sapphire in question was starting to seem less like a rebel, but honestly, Ice had very little knowledge about them so he wasn't a very good judge. Chip had spoken briefly about them, but as of now, he still had yet to see one. He did question why a gem who had betrayed homeworld would go around with the blue diamond symbol still on them, but he supposed that if they were a rebel they might use it to hide that particular fact.
She'd stare at the sapphire know listening to what he had to say, she would start to narrow her eye more hearing such false information, any rebel could make up a story of such just my playing the roles as they were made for. She'd then start to walk back and forth still not looking away from the sapphire while saying," You know.. you rebels amuse me to the fullest, show me your star.. I know that's the symbol.. of this so called freedom.., You are of no position now.. your even lower than a pearl! Unspeakable of such a gem lying even dare to equip the blue diamond symbol to lower our senses of know what you truly are.." Blue's intellect on the sapphire raised as the more she heard him speak. She would surely have enough talk and wanted to cause some action, however Ice would start to speak which then her glowing lime green eye looked downward to see him. Blue would have a neutral expression as if no emotion came across her face gazing upon Ice and listening to what he had to say," I know your an builder of some sort by my scanners but as you can see ones true thoughts lays within, this sapphire is indeed impressive with concealing but I know how to reveal.. listen to how this sapphire speaks of him coming with rubies and a quartz just as describing as what I was talking about.. he used common logic with my dialogue to ensure of that he doesn't get caught.. I'm an elite quartz.. trained..and prepared for things as such.. think about what this sapphire does.. observe.." she'd say while then facing back at the sapphire.
Seeing that the Jasper attempted an attack on Blue she would be completely infuriated internally by this," So.. you dare become a traitor to your homeworld.. huh.. well then you shall acquire the safe fate as this Sapphire!" she says while suddenly gripping the pink coral fist to squeeze all the aquatic beings she had in her grasp, oozing droplets of gushing blood and organic flesh dropped down into the sea, some clutches still were I the grasp of the coral hands, she'd then sway the coral hand to release them in attempt to burst the remain pieces of flesh and internal organs onto the sapphire and jasper, if successful it may cause them to stumble by the weights and speed of the bodies heading there way. Blue had enough foolery and took action, seeing that she had four giant coral hands ready she would smile," Hmmm.. lets see how longer can you stand.. shall we.." she'd say while snapping her finger on her right hand, this resulted to three out of the four coral hands to shift and form into exact replicas of them, it would be Two forms of the Jasper and only one of the Sapphire, they however were this pink and seemed to look spotted with sea weed dangling on there shoulder. Blue would then start on the command of attack, making The two Jasper gems form a shield of both of there arms, so both jasper had two shield on there left and right arm similar to the shield the original Jasper summoned. The Coral Sapphire would form its right hand into a sword shape while the other hand formed a shield as well. Blue started to laugh examining her creations," Poof them. both.. and retrieve more there gems so I can bring them with me to the Diamonds.." she'd say while holding out her arm in indication for them to strike.
Seeing that ice was of no issue at the moment she would spare him however if he would cross her she would not hesitate to strike him down as well, as blue folded her arms to watch this battle proceed she would await the see the results. One of the Jasper gems dash forward to the original Jasper, it would eject the coral shield towards him aiming for his abdomen to give a fatal shock while then with its other shield and with enough distance it would attempt to use to shield to push the Jasper back towards the farther sea to remove distance from the sapphire if successful the original jasper would be hit internal but wouldn't poof however at his current tiring pace the instant possible push would cause more damage by the impact if hit. Blue would then command the other quartz and sapphire to attack, the coral sapphire dash forward while the other coral jasper followed in pursuit, the coral sapphire would continue to close the distance gap to close enough he'd attempt to use the shield to attack on his while then coming with a slash to pierce through the body area of the Sapphire, if successful both hits would cause enough damage to possibly poof this original sapphire. She would also use the Quartz as a double attacker if he were to some how dodge the coral sapphire intent attack the coral Jasper would instantly rush in to the original sapphire location of which he may move in to use the shield like sword and swing them downward to bang his head into. Blue had no intentions of shattering a gem as her mission was smile, however if a gems goes to the extent to where it comes to that she wont hesitate to kill.
Blue would begin to look back down at Ice while nodding towards him, she would continue to face the fight however still speaked towards him," Your a homeworld gem.. prove it to me.. assist me with this capture.. I'm sure your and intelligent gem and are capable of making something out of spare parts.. look around I'm sure that's many you can use to build and make something that would be beneficial indeed to get these traitor into there gems.. unless... your getting persuade by them to change?.. I do hope not.. I'd hate to shatter a homeworld gem.." she'd say with a s calm yet form voice as if she was quite serious on the matter.
Sapphire, without any emotion, gracefully dodged the pieces of sea creatures that were just murdered.
"Don't be ridiculous... the only traitor to the Homeworld are you. What are you trying to accomplish here? Even if you managed to beat me, Blue Diamond will have you shattered for this! Are you really that delusional?"
Sapphire said, standing his ground. He wasn't going to entertain this fool any longer, since he was apparently beyond reason. Sapphire stood on ice, waited. He summoned a shield, blocking the attack that was suppose to hit him, then the ice around him melted... not for a long though, only long enough for the doubles to fell in the water. Then it froze once more, trapping the coral doubles in very thick prison of ice. Fighting a Sapphire on water was foolish...
"Now, will you stop this madness?"
He asked, while checking on his Jasper guardian. Seemed like she was doing well.
"Earth is... strange planet, some suggested it makes Gem... confused, like the rebels... end this now and I will attribute your behaviour to this planet's influence... continue and my only choice will be branding you a traitor to the gem Empire..."
Ice turned away as the organisms before were crushed by the coral hands, he understood why, but he still didn't agree with it. He watched from his platform as the gems fought with the blue quartz. When he was asked to help, he wasn't sure what to do. It had nothing to do with him questioning his own loyalty, it was the sapphire he was unsure about. He simply wasn't convinced that they were in fact a rebel, sapphires usually have it pretty good so there was no reason for them to rebel, it just didn't seem to add up.
The blue quartz seemed pretty angry, they were keeping it together, but they weren't in the mood to fool around to say the least. Ice could tell that the blue quartz certainly wasn't a rebel themself, and that they sincerely thought that the sapphire was a rebel, but for him it just wasn't enough. He needed some sort of actual proof, until then, it was probably better to not get involved.
Ice turned his gaze back up to the blue quartz. "I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced that this sapphire is a rebel, maybe it would be better if you stopped fighting and tried giving them a chance to explain themselves better?" Ice figured that this was all quite possibly a simple misunderstanding, and that a little communication could solve everything. However, it's a lot harder to get a fight to stop than it is to get one started, and Ice wasn't too overly confident that the blue quartz would end the fighting and listen to him just like that. If he could stop the fighting and get them to talk about it, there was a good chance that he'd get a better understanding of the situation, so he supposed that it was worth a shot
Seeing that the sapphire wasn't trying to comply with the demands of Blue she would start to yawn slightly while fanning her mouth in indication that she grew bored of such incompetence, as her narrowed eye looked towards the sapphire and her frozen incased coral creations she would start to feel even more apathetic. However while observing these gems she would come to a series of conclusion along with a few ideas, there was still no doubt that she would think this sapphire would be a traitor however soon enough this world will perish once she speaks with the diamonds on the moon base. Blue would start to wonder partially on the matter of fusion, what if gem shards fused? she thought, soon a mental plan would be ready and soon it would change the world as they know it. As Blue would finally speak would start to clap her hands echoing this sound throughout the area," My My My, it was fun playing but know since you bored me I have no choice but to proceed with my next plan.." she'd say while snapping her finger in her right hand in which resulted her creation shattering into pieces.
While still standing on her giant pink coral hand she would nod towards the sapphire while smiling, this smile was evil beyond comparison which was something one may never forget, she would soon obtain other gems and shatter them know to use there gem shards for force fusion creations, it was more of a quick experiment to see what will happen. As she'd then look down towards Ice Blue would start to smile," She is of no use to me.. for now.. however I may be of in need of your assistance later.." she says while glowing her eye brightly in a lime green variation in which then the hand would consume Blue entire body and yanked her into the sea, she would maneuver the coral hand through the sea to venture off else where. If she was in need of Ice she would surely send in a visual message from her visor. The start of the creation of gem mutants would soon come to reality once Blue started shattering gems and forcefully merging them.
Her vision whirled round her, and as she regained her senses, a coral double pounded her, bringing her to the point of dissipation. Blindy, she swing back with her shield, unsure if it had made contact or not. Eventually, her swinging removed enough of the fish guts from her head to where he could actually see. As the small jasper removed more fish guts from her person, she grunted and noticed she'd been pushed away from the crowd, and the opponent she had been fighting was MIA, and Sapphire had made a sizable chunk of ice in the ocean. She slowly strode up to him and asked "Do I want to know what happened or should I just not've asked?"
Seemed like the quartz finally saw reason... or perhaps she just understood, that on water Sapphire had quite an advantage. But quartz's final look gave him all the answers - she was insane, possibly even corrupted... with that she disappeared under the water. And hopefully she was gone.
Sapphire came to the beach, where Jasper was. She seemed a little puzzled about what just happened. "I had to rely on aggressive diplomacy... I hope you didn't think we Sapphires are completely defenceless. I thank you for your assistance and loyalty. The other quartz was insane it seems... perhaps even on the bring of corruption. Otherwise I can't explain why she acted the way she had... "
The truth was, that if they fought on land he would be in all kinds of troubles...
"When the communication is restored I will make sure you loyalty and bravery is noticed."
He said. After all this quartz quickly understood the entire situation and did what she was suppose to do - she protected a noble gem from the unfair attack of a crazy quartz. Well... more or less ... there might be unimportant minor details...
"Will you accompany me? I wish to speak with the other gem here... hopefully he won't attack me too, but after the irrationality of the first I don't want to risk needlessly."
The jasper winced when Sapphire mentioned corruption, causing memories of the fight with a corrupted gem, which seemed to be so long ago. "I will stay by your side without a doubt, My Clarity." 82 responded, ridding herself of the wretched memory in the process, her mind clearing back to the task at hand. Wordlessly, she took her place behind Sapphire, and waited for him to begin the short walk over to the other gem, who she hadn't noticed much of in the heat of the -rather short lived- battle. But between the heavy fog and the clobbering via marine intestines, so she wasn't surprised she hadn't gotten a good look at him. As time dragged itself on, 82 could see the ice farther away from Sapphire was beginning to melt. Promptly, she tapped Sapphire on the shoulder gently and began to speak one more. "The edges of this floe are beginning to melt, should we step off?"
The fighting seemed to stop suddenly, the blue quartz seemed to give up the attack, for now at least. It wasn't his doing that ended up stopping the fight, but luckily it seemed to have ended anyway. Ice let out a huge sigh and then face planted on the icy platform.
When he looked back up, the sapphire wasn't where he was a second ago, Ice jumped a little before noticing him walking over to the other gem. They seemed to be regrouping from the short battle. He wasn't sure where this left him, he was still so unsure about them both. According to the blue quartz, the Jasper was being tricked by the sapphire, and the sapphire was a rebel, but he wasn't completely ready to agree with those thoughts, not without some solid evidence.
His body was still shivering, but it had returned to its normal amount, as far as he was concerned, there was very little to worry about in this situation. If the sapphire was a rebel, he wasn't going to expose himself with this jasper around, so as long as he played it cool, nothing could go wrong. Sadly, Ice was ironically terrible at "playing it cool".
"Yellow Diamond is lucky to have such a loyal gem in her court."
He said and went forward. Sapphire should probably feel bad about this whole thing, but he didn't. He still had no idea how that blue zealot found out, that he was in fact a Crystal gem. The "smell" was of course a total nonsense. Possibly a lucky guess? Sapphire was positive, that he didn't make any mistakes that would reveal his true allegiance. "Your caution is exemplary. But don't be afraid, I control the ice... I will make us a path..."
He once again frozen the way between them and Ice. He acted strong, but all this freezing was draining him. He came before the gem Ice. It was obvious, that this gem wasn't allied to that zealot and Sapphire wasn't surprised, that he stayed out of the conflict. After all he looked like a worker gem, not a warrior. Sapphire just stood before Ice and waited for what he has to say about it...
Merely nodding to his responses, Bumble followed Sapphire over to Ice, who upon closer inspection seemed to be generally near her height. She wondered where the other quartz had gone, and began to have the notion that nothing good would come out of seeing her again. Slowly, her line of sight was tugged towards the ocean horizon, a minuscule shadow of a boat passing the horizon line every now and then. The spotted jasper raised her hand as a visor, as if she was trying to peer past and see where her temporary adversary had slunk to, vision narrowing as time went by. Soon enough, she saw odd waves forming, but due to their small size and distance from shore, she thought nothing of it.
The sapphire came over to him, freezing the water elegantly below himself as he walked across it. The jasper followed closely behind. Upon closer inspection, both of them were shorter than he thought, the sapphire was expected to be somewhat short, but the Jasper wasn't overly large for a quartz, not that it seemed to hinder her in battle. They slowly drew nearer, until they eventually stopped just a few short feet away from him.
At first Ice just stared at them blankly, just standing up and shivering in front of them. Eventually he figured he'd say something, to break the silence and hopefully bring himself back into his comfort zone. " so, uh, just to be clear, you guys aren't going to attack me, capture me, or any other bad stuff like that, right?" Ice looked at them with concern in his eyes, ready to make a break for it if they didn't answer how he wanted.
The fog around them seemed to clear even more, allowing the sunlight to poke through above them.
Sapphire's expression didn't change at all, but deep inside he had to smirk a little, when Ice spoke. "Some in my place could do that, to punish your hesitation to come to our aid during the battle with the insane quartz, but I'm not one of them. You're obviously not a warrior, and if I'm not mistaken your talents are more suited to... colder enviroments... or am I mistaken?"
Sapphire's knowledge of different gems was limited, since he was more off the Homeworld then on and every colony had it's own unique gems... but he saw similar gems in the Blue Diamond's court. He then turned his attention back to his temporary guardian.
"I suspect he is not a threat, but I would like to know the opinion of an expert."
