Flurry had finally worked up the courage to enter Empire city. Being a shy and soft-spoken gem, big cities weren't her thing. As she walked into the city she took a look at her surroundings. Cars buzzed about wildly, and there were so many lights that even at night the city was as bright as day. Humans were sparse, as most of them were working or at home at this hour. No Building was short, even small shops were built together with other small businesses to form skyscrapers. All of the skyscrapers appeared to be black, contrasting to the light. Lights lined them, also some electronic screens, oddly advanced for humankind. The sheer height of the buildings created a foreboding feeling as Flurry gazed at the sky above.
As Flurry walked down the street she approached a dark alley. A shifty-looking human started to follow her. She tried to ignore him, assuming that he might have just been walking the same direction at the same time. She occasionally looked over her shoulder, he wasn't too discreet, but he was discreet enough that nobody else noticed him. She started running, but it only lasted about two seconds, she tripped on some loose concrete and fell flat onto her face. The Human was almost upon her.

Chip was flying around the city. Empire city was quite large, but Chip was a quick flyer and was able to circle it quite quickly. His primary goal was guarding the city from corrupted gems, rebels and others. He took this responsible extremely seriously, but it looked like another boring day - after all what silly rebel or monster would try to enter city guarded and ruled by gems...
He chose to shorten his flight back to M tower through some... shadier alleys. Since he was flying, he didn't have to worry about anything... (or smell anything...). As he was flying he noticed something disturbing. A small person followed by less then respectable looking person. She was apparently worried enough to start running, but she fell soon afterwards. Something like this won't happen in city he was guarding!
He landed right between the girl and the weird person, his fire wings spread to block the entire alley. Chip may appeared as a small redheaded boy, but right now he was small redheaded boy with wings on fire, that was holding big flaming lance and also very, very angry. If that human had at least two working brain cells he was running for his life... and if he didn't Chip helped him slightly...
Then his weapon and wings both disappeared as he turned to the girl.
"Hey there... are you ok? Do you need help?"
He said, smiling, and offered her his hand to help her get back on her feet.
The human was definitely surprised by Chip's abilities that he displayed in showing up, but not as surprised as one would think. He almost looked as if this was the sort of thing that happened to him often. He mumbled something under his breath and took off down the street, a black car stopped in front of him and someone opened a door. The man hopped in and everyone in the suspicious vehicle drove off down the street. Their car was oddly silent for how fast it was driving.
Noticing that the danger was gone Flurry pushed her body up with her arms, but turned around in surprise when she heard Chip's voice. Apparently until he spoke she was unaware that someone was behind her, much less a gem with flaming wings. She turned to face him with wide eyes. This revealed her star barrette and the star on her oversized shirt which was the only clothing she had. The Star was clearly the logo of the crystal gems.
"Uh... well not anymore I guess!" Flurry said, smiling at him. She took his hand and got on her feet. "I'm White Spinel...but everybody calls me Flurry..." She said, running her hand through her hair. She produced a small, floating cloud and sat on it, crossed-legged. "This is my first time in Empire city...it sure is a scary place here...I heard that there were no monsters though... if there were any then someone brought them there."

Chip was a little surprised, that the girl he just saved was not just a gem... but apparently a crystal gem. That was quite... strange. After all it was well known this city was under a rule of Blue Diamond's personal assassins... not the safest place for a crystal gem.
"Hello Flurry, I'm Fire Opal, but everyone calls me Chip, I'm sorry your first visit to Empire city started like this... but don't worry, I will find who that was... but... I have a silly question though... you are a crystal gem?"
He asked right away. If she was he should probably stop her... or bring her to Morion or something... not that he would do that. Morion probably had eyes everywhere...
"Oh! yes! I am!" She said, smiling happily as if it was exciting to talk about. it was now that It was apparent that she had a bit of a British accent. She floated around as she spoke, apparently unable to keep still on the cloud. "You are a crystal gem too right?! I don't know... I was just taking a wild guess because you're not wearing the diamond sigil." She moved closer with her cloud.
"My team is so overprotective of me, they never let me go on missions... so I thought that I would go and do something amazing without them and then they would see how useful I am!" She gave no room for Chip to interrupt, spouting out information that would could be valuable to the crystal gems freely to a homeworld gem. "What's your team like? I'm sure that they let you go on missions and stuff with those fire wings... everybody has a cool power except me..." She said sadly, simply assuming that he was a crystal gem without allowing him to explain.

Chip's jaw almost dropped, she just admitted freely, that she is a Crystal gem... like nothing was wrong. He was actually pretty sure now, when there was no possibly way to say that he didn't know... she didn't make it exactly easy to not capture her...
"Uhm... well actually I am not a crystal gem... and I am not sure, if you should just tell it to everyone... after all you don't know me... I might be an apprentice to some powerful assassin gem, who hate crystal gems. I might try to poof you... or shatter you... or poof you and use your gem as a battery... or something terrible like that..."
He should have capture her right now... but she was so... naive... he just couldn't do it... he could also lie to her, tell her that he is a crystal gem and perhaps get some useful information from her... he felt even worse about that...
Flurry's eyes widened more every time he listed one of the possibilities of danger she put herself in from talking to him. Her lips quivered a bit by the time that he was done talking. She looked at the floor for a moment, in deep thought. Suddenly, she looked back at him and smiled happily.
"Well I sure am glad that you aren't any of those things! " She said, sighing of relief. "You're too nice to be somebody like that, but do you really think that gems like that are at a safe place like this? That's scary...we should be careful huh?" She said, tapping her head gesturing that they should think carefully. "So...if you're not a crystal gem...that would make you a homeworld gem right? Oh no! That's impossible, you're probably neutral. I should have guessed that! Silly me! Gems like you wouldn't wanna hurt humans."

Chip smiled at her a little nervously... yeah, it was good thing he wasn't an apprentice to a loyalist assassin... lucky her. And if Morion ever find out about this Chip would be in quite some trouble... so that whole "not an apprentice" might actually become truth...
"This place is quite safe... but not exactly for Crystal gems... there are some gems here that don't like your people... quite strongly actually. You might be in danger if you stay here... "
He told her. He was pretty sure, that she didn't have any ill intentions... she was just confused? Or she didn't know that this city was off limits for Crystal gems. "Yeah, I'm neutral... I am not a loyalist... nor a crystal gem... so you don't have to be afraid. I would never hurt a fellow gem... or a human... or pretty much anyone... "
At least this time he was telling the truth, though he became more and more "loyalist" even when he didn't really want to.
She seemed scared at the fact that Empire city was under so much loyalist control. Her fear quickly faded to disappointment and frustration as she looked at him.
"Go back!? I cant! Not yet at least... I need to do something amazing to get my team's attention! Then they will take me on missions. You see, they think that just because I'm small and a support gem that I can't do anything in battle... which isn't true! " She said indignantly. "I know you want to help me, but I've got to stay here! The reason I came was to do something that only a good crystal gem could do, and since this is such a dangerous place then maybe it would be good for me to stay. I don't know what I could do though, it's not like I wanna pick a fight with any gems though... ooh! Maybe we can hunt down that guy who attacked me! Then we can be heroes and I can tell my team all about it! " She said, inviting him to join her, assuming that he wanted to.

Oh boy... she was positively suicidal. She wanted to gain respect of her team, which Chip respected... but going to the lion's den... she was playing a dangerous game.
"Well you really should go back though. This place is not safe for you. Most Crystal gems that entered this city never left it... the longer you'll be here the bigger the chance that you will be discovered, poofed and imprisoned. Or worse..."
The sad thing was, that she was found out already... by him! And that weird guy might as well been one of Morion's human quartzes. Who else would follow gems in Empire city?!
"Those friends of yours have to be worried sick about you... you should probably go back... the fact you were in the Empire city and got back safely is no small feat. If you want I will go with you, so that weird human won't bother you anymore. I will take care of him when I get back..."
Flurry looked a bit angry, and crossed her arms. She looked around, avoiding eye contact, humming in frustration. She occasionally looked at him, scoffed and looked away. After a while of this she finally sighed and her expression became neutral.
"You're just like them... It's dangerous but I can handle it! Well... maybe? My point is that I hate it when people underestimate me like that... I just want to help out my friends... " She mumbled. She looked at the floor for a long time but then suddenly her eyes widened and her expression became stern. She pointed at Chip dramatically. "I`ll leave on one condition! You need to promise me that you`ll give me a mission that we can do, something cool that my friends will respect me for! Yeah... And then I`ll never come back! " She said haughtily, as if he had something to gain by doing this. "Here's my phone number, if you don't call me I`ll just come back I swear! "

"I know you're brave, but this is not about being brave. If you are found, you would NEVER stand a chance. You would be poofed before you could even notice you're in danger. Proving yourself is one thing... this is a foolish risk though."
He was trying to explain. If Morion wanted this girl gone, she would be gone in an instant. He would just strike from the shadows before anyone could even notice him. It was actually quite scary...
"A mission? From me? Uhm... but I have no idea what kind of mission. And I am not trying to get rid off you... I am trying to keep you from getting yourself killed... which you might not like, but I don't like seeing other gems getting hurt... "
Flurry clenched her fists. "It can't be as dangerous as you think it is, they're all gems right? I'm sure that if I just talk to them that they`ll understand. I like to think that somewhere inside they don't want to fight like this... because if opinions are the only difference between homeworld gems and crystal gems then... what would happen if friends changed opinions, it's not like they could just hate eachother. We aren't like that! " She said, shouting by now.
"I'd appreciate it if you brought me along on a monster hunting mission or something... but I'd much rather be imprisoned by somebody just so that I could have a chance to talk to them... If everybody thought like this then the war wouldn't even be happening... that's why I'm a crystal gem. "

"Yes, there are some gems, that could be talked with... and there are some, that are devoted to Diamonds beyond reason. If Diamond say "jump to you death" they would... and yes, there could be friends on the different sides... but what if they meet in battle? They would have to fight their friend... and by that betray the friendship... or don't fight them... and by that betraying their side... "
He said. He didn't want to say, that it wasn't natural for gems to have friends... gems were suppose to do what they were made for, not making friends...
"And if you want, I can take you to monster hunt... I am hunting monsters quite often... I could actually try and find some right now if you want... "
He offered. There were monsters around the city from time to time... not too close to endanger humans of course, but there could be some...
Flurry kept pouting a bit as he spoke. As naïve as she was, she was set on her way of thinking about gems. She didn't like the idea of some gems being impossible to deal with, and it irritated her that he was talking about it. She wanted to be nice to him anyway, he had saved her life, and he was nice to her. The truth was that he believed any gems who weren't coldhearted and evil, but also weren't a crystal gem were cowards. She never told anyone that though, feeling that making other gems feel bad about themselves wouldn't help end the war.
"That would be great! " She said smiling. She easily dropped the subject, she was brave but she was still scared. She planned to talk to more gems a some point, even if they were evil and coldhearted, but now wasn't the time. "Let's go! " She said smiling and pumping her fist.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
