At first, just more silence. Meaning business as usual... But then he tried breaking through one of the barricaded windows. Perfect! That was making a hell of a lot of noise, so she began to move swiftly into position. Pink Star was standing close to the window, but not TOO close. And she was careful to stay out of his line of sight. The only way he was getting inside would be to leave himself wide open to her. "Come on in, you bastard...", she would mutter quietly to herself, bracing herself for the confrontation. With any luck, this was going to result in her victory.
But it was still too early to just make that sort of claim. For all she knew, he still had tricks up his sleeves that could turn the battle into his favor. She felt bad about the house becoming an absolute mess, but it wasn't important right now. Getting her family out alive took priority, then she could start setting things right. In order to do any of that, she needed to beat this guy. It was starting to feel like those scenes straight out of action and horror movies. Protagonist finally geared up to face their attacker.
Frankly this was more excitement than she wanted. It was just going to be one more solid strike to get through that window, and then... Then what? Was he actually going to strike through the window and try to climb in? He had to be expecting that she was ready, and that he had no distinctive advantages in continuing his attack. So why was he? It completely went against logic. Then again, Howlite didn't seem 'entirely there' either. A part of her was afraid that she might lose the fight, it would surely cause her family sadness if that came to pass.
So she resolved herself. No dying here. It simply wasn't an option.
