A tiny, dark brown squirel makes itself known, cautiously sniffing at the air, before jumping to the ground. After a few seconds he takes up the courage to run towards the water, it's fluffy tail flapping behind it. It reaches the edge of the water in a few quick jumps, and then dips it's nose in the water. A curious, curious little thing with shiny black eyes and a soft coat, it drinks for a few short moments. Then it paws at the water for a bit, a few seconds at most. Once it's finished, or once it no longer dares brave the edge of the water, it turns over to scurry away, leaving behind a small trail of small, watery footprints.
Suddenly a song was heard. It was being played by some sort of electronic device, but sung by someone who was there.
"Crazy- but that's how it goes.
Millions of people- living as fooooes!
Maybe, it's not too laaaate.
To learn how to love!
And forget how to haaaaate.
Mental wounds not heeaaaaling!
Life's a bitter shaaaaame!
I'm going off the raaaails on a crazy train! "
Sulfur waltzed into the fountain's gates, he had a human phone that was playing the background music. He walked toward the water to look at himself. His clothes were different, he had poofed. Curious at his new outfit he wandered close. He saw Light as he was nearing the pool. He knelt down beside the water.
"Come out Pearl, I need to speak with you." he said.
"Insolence... I am not with homeworld, just because I am not a pitiful rebel such as yourself doesn't mean you should lump me with a legion of brainwashed quartzes!" Sulfur scolded. "I want something that you are very bad at giving, information. I want to know how things went with the gem I gave you to. This is of importance to me, do not ask why as the story is long and you are too dull to comprehend it. Leave the interrogation to me. If you do not give me a reason, I will bubble you and return you to your new owner. I am not sure that he will be as merciful as he was last time."
Sulfur moved closer to the water and looked into Light's eyes. His stare was piercing, like a knife. "Speak."
Howlite needed to recover from his beating from Agate. Supposedly the fountain of Rose Quartz could heal. He started heading in when suddenly he heard singing. He recognized Sulfur's voice. He came in running while singing. "I've listened to preachers. I've listened to fools. I've watched all the drop outs. Who make their own rules. One person conditioned to rule and control. The media sells it and you live the role. Mental wounds are screaming driving me insane. I'm going off the rails on a crazy train!" He then cackled and saw him with Pearl "What goes on boss?"
Smithsonite wanders into the fountain and admires it's beauty. He wonders what kinds of things await him on Earth, it was a very strange planet after all. He takes notice of the other gems and hides, he doesn't trust them. He crosses his fingers and hopes that no one will find him.
"Why does my luck run out at the worst possible time?!"
He eavesdrops on what they do to see if they're hostile, but considering his experience so far on Earth, they'd actually be pretty nice. But he was still not going to risk it. He is always scared of everyone for some odd reason.
"One of these days, one of these days... I'll finally get the alone time that I deserve."
Howlite smiled at Pearl. "That's right! Now what exactly is the problem here? If it's information you seek Sulfur.... I could break Pearl. Maybe get some payback for all his hatred towards me. I'll carve him up real nice." He licked his lips then walked up to Pearl slowly. He then whispered. "Be lucky we're friends or I'd have him kill you." Then he took a step back. "Hmmmmm... I don't have any tools from my ship... But then again all I really need is something sharp. Probably a piece of glass. Yes, that'd do nicely."
As these events were transpiring a small rodent of the Sciuridae family made it's way throughout the surrounding areas, until deciding, quite by accident, to enter a small and secluded niche that was overshadowed by the ceiling, where the light shone strongly through a small hole in the ceiling. The furry creature made it's way towards that light, drawn perhaps by a kind of magnetism that brings the doomed man to stand up and walk into the middle of the road at night and be run over, quite without reason, by the only vehicle that came that day, because somewhere someone decided to take the road at that moment, and the paths of the two intersected, and left only one to speak.
There are those that say victims are naturally drawn to the site of their demise, when, against all odds, against all possibility, law of probability be damned, they decide to be in this place, at this time.
And the squirrel stood up, looking at a large, coarse boulder that was brightly illuminated in the sunlight.
A moment later a most terrifying thunder shook the ground, a cloud of dust rising high into the air, with the kind of catastrophic, earth shattering clatter that one only hears from the inside of a falling building.
Smithsonite sees the squirrel and becomes intrigued. He had never seen this odd looking rodent before, it was enticing to watch. He slowly appproaches the squirrel and tries to grab it.
"Here you little... thingy... Come over here! I won't shatter you! I promise!"
He does not realize how loud he is speaking right now, but he does not seem to care very much regardless. The squirrel has consumed all of his attention, and whether or not there were any gems in the area did not matter to him. What a strange and mysterious creature that little squirrel was...
"Ok thingy, I'm gonna get you, and you're gonna LOVE ME!!!"
He really does not seem to realize how loudly he is speaking. All the other gems are distant memories as far as he is concerned.
Emerging from the cloud of dust, one noticed a massive hole in the ground where the squirrel used to be.
What IS there now is a red, gooey mess with tufts of hair in it. A few drops of blood fall back down, from the the large, absurdly thick head of a mace, held aloft in a burly, gray, stoney hand, that looks as gentle as fiber glass.
The arm, muscular in an odd, even absurd way, is dressed in a gray, dirty outfit with tattered edges, the rest of which covers a body that is not athletic per se, but instead bulgey and angular, almost a comic parody of an athletic build. The outfit itself is a one pice suit, covering it's wearer from neck to just below the boulder like knees. The person in question stands on bare feet, which look more like they were roughly hewn from rock by a blind man than deliberately designed by their wearer, towers at some 11 and a half feet (3.5 m). The hair, black, is matted somehow, and rests on one shoulder in an accidental ponytail, full of debris and dust.
The face of the person is turned from view, until it slowly turns around to regard Smithsonite. It's eyes are vacant, like old, scratched up glass, it's face looks like it's components fell in place by sheer accident, the nose existing as a mere suggesting, represented by two overly large and unnecesarry breathing holes.
As it observes Smithsonite it opens it's crooked mouth and belows out a hoarse scream, a sound like the splitting of metal beams, like a wild bull breathing it's last, impaled by many lances, like a caged lion springing to freedom to devour a small child. The ground shakes as it's scream cuts a large, trembling line across the air.
Melody: as usual, just waiting for posts

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
