Was the only thing Chip said. He was trying to help Ice, but he was probably just giving him a false hope. He still thought that his powers might help... since his healing fire would keep his gem from being damaged by healing it... but he wasn't going to force the issue... it wasn't probably the best idea to remind him that he was cold all the time...
"Well... I think there should be a big screen just one level above us... have you ever seen human prerecorded entertainment? We have giant screen with the best sound... better then most of the cinemas in this town... and like all the movies... do you want to check it out? Humans have talent for making entertainment... "
There were a few words that Ice couldn't fully comprehend, but it didn't matter, he was already in love with the next room. Prerecorded entertainment sounded sorta like the video clips he was shown before coming to Earth. They were really light on the information, probably because he didn't need to know about this part of the planet, but they were still cool to watch. This sounded different in a way though. The whole entertainment part, it was like they had videos that were made specifically for fun.
"Yes! That sounds amazing, let's go right now!" Ice turned and slipped on a small patch of ice beneath him, quickly jumping back up and pretending it never happened. He couldn't help but blush a little though, it was always really embarrassing for him to mess up, especially in front of Chip. He just stood up and waited for Chip, calming down a bit from his initial excitement.

They left the sauna and entered the elevator again. It was a short ride, just one level... he led Ice through some corridors and entered a big private cinema... the screen was as big as the entire wall... it was huge. And they had plenty of movies there. "We just have to pick one of those movies... put them in this slot... and it will begin to play. And we can choose from a big variety... like..."
He picked one random disc and quickly hid it again... on the box there was big letters spelling "FROZEN". Poor choice for always cold Ice...
"Like this one..."
He picked up another disc... this time it was Ice age... this was getting slightly awkward..
"Well perhaps not that one but how about Titanic..."
He read the next one before he looked what it was... A giant ship crushing into iceberg... this was getting ridiculous...
"Uhm... well... if you want you can pick one yourself..."
Ice just stared at the black screen on the wall, it was huge, the room itself was the largest of all the rooms he'd seen so far, but the screen was just enormous, taking up much of the wall. Ice brought his eyes back over to Chip as he started talking, nodding as he explained how it worked. "That sounds simple enough" He smiled, this was quite possibly the coolest thing he'd seen ever since he came to Earth. Aside from the beach, anyway.
Ice watched as Chip fished out a little rectangle. Ice looked at it closely and read the words on the cover. "Frozen?" He then watched Chip put it back and get a new one out. "Ice Age?" Ice laughed a little, he thought it was oddly coincidental that Chip kept getting ice based movies, but it wasn't actually bothering him at all.
When Chip told him that he could pick one, Ice gladly wandered over to the movies to see what he should pick. He grabbed one, reading the title and looking at the picture. "Jaws?" Ice looked at a weird monster on the front, questioning it a little. "Is this one good?" He barely understood what the things were at this point, and figured he'd get a little help from Chip.

Fortunately Chip's unlucky hand didn't ruin Ice's mood. Instead Ice chosed a new movie - Jaws. Chip saw it once, but since then he felt uneasy around water. Not that he was afraid of sharks... he could easily burn it to sushi. Well... not sushi, since... whatever. But he was afraid that he could be attacked by some kin of shark-shaped gem monster...
"Jaws is good movie... well the first one. They made like 4? Or perhaps even more... but the other are rubbish... but the first one is really fun. And a little scary... kinda... "
The shark in the movie was so funny... all plastic and stiff... but the music was what made him scary.
He took the disc and inserted it in the correct slot..
"Scary?..." Ice didn't like the sound of that, but it looked like Chip had gotten it started already by putting the disc into the mechanism. He decided to just go with it, after all, it was made by the humans, and their idea of scary was probably off a bit. "Okay sure, I'd love to see this thing in action!"
Ice walked back and sat down in a seat, watching the large screen intently. When it started up, Ice was startled by the loud noise, and found that he had trouble focusing on the screen as a whole, just because it was so big. But after a few minutes his eyes and ears started to adjust to it. The movie was confusing to Ice, he didn't understand a good portion of humans and their culture, and it left him with burning questions.
Ice asked away, with fairly vague questions. "What is that?" "What happened to them?" "What are they doing?" The beginning of the movie had some things that may have been scary, but Ice didn't understand them enough to be afraid.

"Well this is... humans call it "movies". Humans have talent to create entertainment and this is one of those ways. It's a fictional story, those humans are actors that are just playing their roles... so this is a story about humans on an island... and as you can see right now there is... something in the water... something that is dangerous... and humans are much more fragile then us, gems...."
It was so difficult to make Ice understand. Chip spent most of his short life amongst humans, he understood them better then he understood his own people... and he saw dozens of movies, if not more... "So, just try to watch the story... it will all become clearer soon... just wait and watch."
Chip had no idea if Ice will like the story... or even the concept of movies... but there was only one way to find out...
Ice was just a tad bit worried about the story after having heard a better description from Chip. Did humans really get entertainment out of a monster who would try to attack them? It didn't make sense to him, but he just decided to sit back and see what would happen.
When he saw a beach on the screen, he almost immediately thought it was the beach down by Beach city, quickly shouting out "Hey look it's the beach!" Not entirely aware of the fact that many beaches looked similar on Earth. But other than that random outburst he remained quiet, keeping his questions in his head. He quickly realised that the movie would actually answer his questions for him if he waited long enough.
He took a moment, in the middle of the movie, and glanced over at Chip quickly. He probably had much more important things to do than sit here entertaining Ice, yet, he took him around the tower anyway. Ice appreciated it, the way Chip helped him time and time again, he really was a nice gem. Someday, Ice was going to do something for him, he deserved something great after all.

"Well... it's a beach... not THE beach... there are plenty of beaches around the Earth. This one is on an island."
He explained. But after that they both fell silent. The movie was quite good and engaging. It was a little sad seeing humans get eaten... if this shark even tried to go to Empire city (somehow) he would make a roasted shark for a dinner. Fortunately there were no sharks around... there were no corrupted gems anymore...
When Ice glanced at him, he didn't even notice. The movie was just too interesting, even though he saw it before. But the truth was, that he didn't mind helping Ice at all. It was so nice to have a friend around. When he emerged from Kindergarden and fled from the peridots he was hiding in a city. He saw a little human boy falling from his bike, injuring his knee. Then his brother came and helped him. From that moment he felt like having someone who would help you around was really nice. But now he was in the position to help someone... so he had to do his best...
Ice replied with a simple "Oh..." when Chip explained the beach thing to him. He felt a little silly for having thought that it was the only beach in all of earth that looked like that. He'd been on Earth for a while now, but his understanding of the place was still pretty awful. That was just one of the issues that came with being assigned to a completely different part of the planet. People, cities, movies, there was none of that up north, so they never took the time to teach him any of it.
The movie was slowly but surely terrifying Ice. While he didn't know much about Earth, he knew that he was now afraid of earth sharks. People had been killed by the viscous things a few times in the movie now, and Ice wasn't entirely aware of the fact that it was fake. He got that Chip said it was fictional, but he was unaware of the fact that people were using effects, he thought that they were purposely dying on screen for the purpose of making the movie, and the whole idea was making him feel slightly uncomfortable.
Suddenly the massive shark jumped up on the side of the boat, attacking the people aboard the ship. At this same moment, Ice jumped up and hid behind the seat. quivering in fear from the shark that appeared massive on the huge screen.

It was almost funny, watching Ice watching the movie. For him it had to be something really new. Chip saw the movie but thanks to Ice he was seeing it differently now, almost like he was seeing it for the first time. Perhaps that was the reason humans were usually watching movies in small groups? Possibly...
"There isn't really a reason to be afraid of sharks... since you know, we're gems... they can't eat us without breaking all of their teeth... plus I read somewhere, that falling coconuts kill more people every year then sharks do... "
He said. It was almost funny... though humans dying was tragic, not funny. "I heard you can watch the movies in 3D... it means that the shark will jump out of screen... somehow? I am not sure..."
Chip had some... not reliable information about this...
Ice turned to Chip, sniffling, while Chip explained why they had no reason to be afraid of sharks. Chip was right, the shark would freeze instantly if it tried to attack him, in fact, Ice wouldn't be able to enter the water in the first place. So why was it so scary, maybe it was just him fearing for the humans, putting himself in their shoes, and that was why he was scared. He wasn't honestly sure, he just didn't like sharks.
There was one thing though, that seemed far more terrifying than sharks. Coconuts. Falling monsters that kill even more than the sharks, he quivered at the very thought of it. Earth had a lot of danger outside the tower, corrupted gems, rebels, sharks, crazy gems, and now coconuts. It even had nuts in the name. "There's no coconuts around here though... right?" There was pure terror in Ice's eyes when he asked Chip, hoping for him to say that coconuts only lived in far away lands.
When Chip told him that the screen could make sharks jump out of it, Ice lost it. He was both interested and terrified of the machanism. From an engineers point of view, he wanted to know how it worked, but at the same time he didn't want it to shoot a shark at him. "You mean to tell me that thing can shoot sharks out?" Ice took one step away from the screen.
No coconuts, and the stuff coming out of the screen would be digital, which meant it was harmless didn't it, Ice was pretty sure at least. "Phew, that's good to hear." Ice relaxed, having been tensed up for the last little while. "It's really great how you guys protect this place so well, all the people living here must feel super lucky..." Ice gave a mixed face towards the screen, looking at the unsafe people on the boat. "I know I feel super lucky."
It was so great that Chip and Morion and, come to think of it, Ice didn't know any of the other gems who lived in M Tower. But it sure was nice that they kept the city out of harm's way. But he wondered sometimes, about those humans. If Pink Diamond really was on her way, how safe were they, really? Ice didn't like how the rebels went about doing things, hurting gems who couldn't have known any better, but he sort of understood them in a way. The Earth was possibly worth protecting, but they were going about it all wrong, and possibly even going to start a war. Ice wanted anything other than war...

On the screen the sharks just starting to nom on one of the heroes... the chatty guy whose name Chip forgot. He was stabbing it, it was eating him...
"For example, if this would happen in Empire city somehow the shark would get stabbed by my lance, the guy would be healed quite quickly... and in few hours he would be eating fresh shark soup and would be enjoying his new shark skinned wallet..."
He was exaggerating a little, but not much. This place was really really safe.
"Well we are doing our best to keep this place safe... for humans and for gems alike... though only our best friends and closest allies can live with us in M tower. In fact you're the first gem I invited to live here... and I'm so glad you accepted..."¨
He smiled while watching the shark eating the boat...
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
