Ice listened as Chip explained what would happen if the shark did come to the city of Empires. He often forgot how powerful Chip was, probably because of his kind nature. Ice probably hadn't even seen the least of what Chip could do, but from the explosion he'd seen him create not long ago, he was probably capable of a lot.
Ice wondered again about the other gems in the tower. "By the way, who all lives in the Tower anyway? I feel like there's quite a few gems, but I've never actually heard about who."
Ice was curious about the other gems, just as he had been with Morion. Morion was the owner of the tower, so it made sense for him to be a little scary, but he wondered what the others might be like.
He looked over at the screen, quickly turning away when he saw a man being attacked by the shark.

"Who is living at the tower right now? Well... uhm... there is me and Morion of course... then you... there is the fusion general... and there was Spider... but I haven't seen her for ages... there probably some other but since I am mostly in my room... and I usually leave and enter through my window... I think only Morion knows how many gems are living here... you could ask him, he is quite reasonable... "
"You are not just a guest Ice, this place is your home now... "
"But Morion would never allow some crazy gem to enter this tower... so you really don't have to worry about that."
He explained. It took him some time for this tower to felt like home... but he didn't have a friend around. Only a teacher...
"A spider and a fusion?" Both of those sounded kinda... well... terrifying to Ice. But it seemed odd, more than anything, that Chip only knew a handful of the tower's residents. And he could come and go out of his window? "Those are really the only two you know other than Morion and I?" The tower was awfully large, so it made sense that Chip didn't know all of the gems in it, but only knowing four? "And wait, you can just come and go out of your window?" Ice had a habit of questioning things, he always felt the need to understand, even if at times it was nothing but a weak urge. He tried to picture the window of his room in his head, wondering if it could simply open and close. He hadn't really considered it at the time.
The window put an entirely different thought in Ice's head too. The view. He didn't just have the entire tower to explore, he had the whole city. Ice had a fondness for exploration. He loved to discover, to feed his curiosity, but it was often held back by his stronger desire to stay safe. However, in the City of Empires, he was safe, it was just as Chip said, it was his home now.

"Yeah, the fusion general is weird... I think she is not entirely right in the head... but she is basically harmless... and Spider was actually really really nice... but she left for some mission or something and didn't return yet... and yeah, I think those are the only ones... but the tower is HUGE! There could be dozens gems right now and we still might easily miss all of them in our tour..."
There were hundreds of rooms in this tower on dozens of levels... it was a maze hidden in the enigma... Chip visited perhaps a 10% of this tower so far...
"And you know that I could fly, right? So I have windows that can be opened so I can come and go as I please... but most windows in the tower can't be opened... it would be too dangerous..."
After all most people were unable to fly... and besides him and Lazuli there were no gems he saw who could fly unless transforming to birds or helicopters...
"Wow, it really is huge, I didn't really get a good look at the whole thing when I came in, but from what I've seen so far, it's super massive, like I could see this thing from almost anywhere in the city." Now Ice felt like going out and having a better look at the tower, to get a good idea of how large it really was. The only issue was that he didn't really know how to get out. The tower was still fairly confusing to him.
Lucky for Ice, he knew a gem that might be able to help him out, and he was standing less than a meter away. "Oh Chip, there's something I've been meaning to ask you..." He was slightly embarrassed by the fact that he didn't know how to exit the tower, and it made it difficult to actually admit it. "I, uh, I don't really exactly know for sure how to maybe, umm... exit the tower..." He had to look down while he said it, but quickly looked back up when he finished. "Do you think we could go out so that I know how to do it myself for next time?"

"It's the highest tower in the city... it should be seen from almost everywhere in the city... that's the idea. People know, that they are being protected from this tower. So they can look at the sky, see the tower and know, that they are safe... it's a symbol of hope."
At least it was the way Chip saw it.
Ice had another problem though, it seemed it was something he was embarrassed about. Chip listened carefully. It was a little silly, but Chip took it seriously. "Of course, I will show you exactly how to get out and how to get right back. And I should really get you a communicator, so you can call me from everywhere it you need my help..."
Ice was glad to see that Chip didn't laugh at him about it. The whole 'not being able to find his way around the tower' thing was pretty hard for him to get out, and he appreciated how Chip was so nice about it. Ice responded with a simple smile before Chip continued. "I'm okay with going now." Ice looked over at the screen, still not completely okay with the scenes from the movie "Unless you want to finish it?"
The highest tower in the city sure was confusing, it was just so large that Ice figured he'd need a map to get around it inside. But there had to be some way of getting down really quickly, because he remembered going up some contraption to get up the tower in the first place. He just had no idea where or how to work said contraption.
Ice watched in amazement as Chip ended the movie with the press of a button on a remote. Then he followed as Chip lead him out of the room and towards one of the elevator things. The idea of asking humans for stuff scared him, he was dangerous to them, and the very thought of getting up close to them made him incredibly uncomfortable.
When they arrived at the elevator and went inside, Ice just stared at the buttons. He felt an incredible urge to press them, to find out what every single one of them did. When Chip pressed a lower button, causing the elevator to go down, he became aware of what every button likely did. Ice took a second to process this, before randomly exclaiming "That's a lot of floors" and having his eyes go wide open.
After arriving back on the ground level, Ice listened as Chip explained the stairs to him. The whole time he was imagining himself having to scale all of the stairs, and it started to make him feel a little weak in the knees. He wasn't sure if he'd make it up that many stairs. "That's a lot of stairs..."
He then ran over to the exit, calling for Chip to follow him. He was more than excited to see outside, he'd been watching it from his window for a while now, and couldn't wait to see it up close again. "Come on, there's something you've gotta see!"

He was trying to help Ice, if he needed he would repeat what to do, he didn't want Ice to get lost in the tower or something. But there was one more thing he needed to tell him. "Our guard should recognise you by now and let you in, no problem. But if there would be some problem... and I hope there wouldn't, just tell the guards to fetch me... I will solve it. But there shouldn't be problems... they know who you are and that you are living in the tower..."
Ice was right, there were a lot of floors and even more stairs in this crazy tower. Chip was quite surprised when Ice wanted to show him something...
Ice carefully avoided touching any of the people as he made his way outside of the tower, stopping for a moment to marvel being outside. "Okay, okay, it's this way!" Ice started jogging off in one direction, before coming to an abrupt stop. "No no no, sorry it's that way." He turned around and then started running in the exact opposite direction. He was taking unusual paths, as if in an effort to avoid people, but luckily for Chip, Ice wasn't too overly fast on his feet, and it probably wasn't very hard to keep up with him.
"We're, umm, I think we're almost there maybe." He stopped in his tracks for a second to look around, before continuing his rather random jog. If someone were to plot the route that Ice was taking on a map, it would look like an interesting squiggly line at this point. A wonderful combination of his lack of direction and his efforts to take the less busy paths.
It didn't matter though, he saw something amazing out of his window, and Chip had to see it.

Chip was following Ice. He was extremely curious, what he wanted to show him. He noticed, that Ice was carefully avoiding humans. It was very responsible from him. After all humans were mostly water... freezing them could easily kill them. Ice changed direction quite suddenly, he probably had trouble finding his way... "Take your time, I'm following you..."
He said. He could easily follow him by air, but for now he was just following him on ground. He had absolutely no idea what Ice could show him, but he suspected it was something he noticed from his room? It would make sense, especially since he had troubles finding it right now. This city was quite different from this point of view then from the high ground...
Ice heard Chip tell him to take his time, but it didn't really change anything. Chip HAD to see whatever random thing it was that he'd found outside his window, and he had to see it as soon as possible. There was nothing that could stop him now, not even his lack of navigation.
He went in circles more than a few times, and took far longer than he should have, but eventually he got to the spot he wanted. It was in no way as amazing as Ice made it seem, but it was still incredible to him. It was an old fountain. It wasn't even fancy like some of the other fountains in the city, but Ice seemed to be fixed on it.
"Isn't it amazing?" He walked up to it, finally getting to see it up close, but not too close since he didn't want to freeze it. "I saw this from my window a while ago, it even lights up". The fountain was actually quite plain looking, a stone circle with water shooting up from the middle. The area was empty, just the fountain, a few trees and a bench. He only took his eyes away from the fountain to see how Chip would react.

And so, after a small search, they finally found the object that Ice wanted to show Chip. It was some kind of old fountain. Chip never saw it before... from his window it wasn't visible... and he never paid any attention to it while flying. It was older then most of Empire city though.
"And this is what I love about Earth... if we were on Homeworld this thing would be either scrapped or modernised... but here on Earth people cherish their past... they learn about it to learn from it... to avoid the negative things they might have once experienced. On Homeworld history isn't important... only parts about how Diamonds are great and about their conquest... but what do we know about the creation of our species?"
Ice smiled brightly when he heard Chip talk about the fountain and the Earth. Chip always seemed to understand why he was so attracted to random stuff like the fountain, even when he didn't know himself. It was so true, Earth was incredibly different. It was changing all the time, just like Homeworld, but at the same time it was staying the same. They learned new things without forgetting old ones, and Ice thought it was pretty cool.
Ice suddenly remembered something that he seemed to have forgotten, This fountain was going to be destroyed. Earth was going to become Pink Diamond's planet before the rebellion took place. Ice was staring at the fountain again, but something was off, he had a very serious look on his face now. "Chip. I'm not sure that colonising the Earth was such a good idea... Humans are intelligent life forms, and there's other life here too, lots of it. Then there's stuff like this fountain... I don't think Earth was ever ours to take..." Ice looked down now, still facing the fountain. "But then there's no good way to stop it. The rebellion... That hurt gems, but if it didn't happen then what would've happened to Earth? It's like there's no good way of anything turning out. No matter what someone gets hurt." There were very thin ice drops forming at the edges of Ice's eyes, the whole thing had him frustrated now.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
