It had just rained deep within the Kindergarden, puddles of water still littered the rocky terrain every now and then, and a crispness was in the air that might send shivers up ones spine. No sane gem would be this far into this ancient facility, the infestation of corrupted gems made passage difficult and highly dangerous. Yet, for whatever reason, there sat a lonely hut atop one of the many cliff faces. The structure was basic, made from very crude materials and seemingly done with very few tools. As well it seemed it was now missing a functioning door, the remains of it laying on the ground with much of the front wall as well. Through the roof now filled with holes water dripped, the only real sound audible in this seemingly empty wasteland. And inside was an odd sight, it was clearly not human and certainly wasn't any sort of gem. At least not fully...
Dolomite was sat with his back against the wall, his suit nearly crushing the basic support under its weight, waiting in morbid silence for what was to come. The end.
He had sought out a gem fusion named 'Pyrope', knowing they had worked with Obsidian previously. The two of them had never really talked much, as he never wanted to get too close to anyone since the incident, but still tasked her with delivering a message for him. It was simple, just something to get the message across and set everything up. "He's waiting for you to come home." Perhaps oddly poetic considering the circumstances, but considering this was likely to be his last fight he felt it was worth being a little dramatic.
So now he waited for her, back where it all had started for him. Barely over a year on this planet and to think how much things have changed from his ignorant first steps. He had actually spent a lot of time pondering over the past, mentally saying his last few goodbyes before... well. Before what was to occur after all this. In fact in his hands he held an old, broken Gameboy handheld system. He had nearly thrown it out and pushed the memory aside, but some part of him wouldn't let him. Despite it all this little gadget still held a place in his heart.
Time passed and he waited for hours, but he was in no rush. Any minute now Carbide would arrive and that would be the end of things. It was finally time to close this chapter, for good.
