Calcite, initially, was so shocked by the sudden rudeness of the spinel soldier's entrance that she couldn't process what was going on fast enough to form a coherent response. Her jaw jacked up and down as she tried to formulate a sentence through her fury, and she clenched her fists so tightly that her arms shook as if the temperatures were frigid.
"...I beg your pardon?"
Calcite passed Coral Pearl and stomped into the threshold of the workshop, blocking Red Spinel's entry so that he could not take one step within her workshop. One of Calcite's height does not make a menacing presence when stomping anywhere, but the fire of discontent inside her more than made up the difference.
"I wasn't informed of any spinel grunts being stationed at the Moon base. And I certainly wasn't informed of any spinel grunt with a high enough clearance level to enter this laboratory. You will cease fraternizing with this pearl immediately, as she is under my jurisdiction. Do you understand? She has been relieved of her previous owner as per my command, and until I relinquish ownership unto her true master, her duties are to me and this work place."
Calcite had practiced a, "I swear I'm not kidnapping someone else's pearl" speech a hundred times before, and has the rules of indentured pearl ownership and servitude memorized. Everything she said would check through even if a diamond tried to challenge her on it. She shot a concerned look to Coral Pearl, and whispered something to the fidgeting gem.
"Keep behind Beryl, alright sweetie?"
As she returned his attention to him, Calcite jabbed at Red Spinel's chest with one furious finger, her eyebrows angled downwards behind her visor.
"Back to a much more pressing matter. You are, as you claim, Red Spinel, hm? That means nothing to me. Please state your facet and cut alongside your formal introduction. As you know, there are hundreds of red spinels out there, but you, apparently, are an elite bounty hunter. Quaint."
Calcite paused for a moment to rub away a smudge on her visor. How undignified - especially when dealing with an intruder.
"I am one of Yellow Diamond's top strategists. As such, I am informed of every single unit that is deployed to and from this command post so that I can more thoroughly take control of her forces and spearhead the effort to reinforce our soldiers deployed on the planet's surface. I was not, Red Spinel, informed of your deployment to this command post."
Calcite performed a quick re-assessment of the staff catalogue, skimming through hundreds of quartzes and pearls and corundums. She didn't see any spinel on her brief flick through the list, and despite how unthorough her sweep was, she continued.
"And another thing. Yellow Diamond has no need for bounty hunters. Not when she has hundreds of thousands of perfectly powerful and capable quartz soldiers, who exist for the express purpose of eliminating Yellow Diamond's enemies en masse. If she wanted something dead, she would have me send in a platoon. Not some scrawny, freakish-looking corundum lackey. Do I make myself clear? Or will I have to alert security to a disturbance in my sector?"
Her visor was alight with dozens of quickly-moving windows and pop-ups, as she continued her work on Earthly research even while dealing with an intruder in her laboratory - she had to make up for lost time. She was on a very tight schedule, because wars do not wait.
