The Derelict ruled the skies of Empire City Protected the metropolis with her sheer size and presence The Smoky Quartz spent most of his time on the bridge, watching the City, the dozenz of holo monitors, siting in his throne like command chair But now, he had a new ally A Pearl It was time to call her So he activated the communicator
"Black Pearl? Please be so kind and come to the bridge..."
The Smoky Quartz asked then waited Morion was in his humanoid form, but not Gem "armor" He was a tall ('Quartz tall^^) Gem (but not bulky like a Jasper or Amethyst, his kind was slender) with long grey hair and silver eyes. It was evident, he was wearing real, human clothes, - black silk suit - Italian with maching shoes - shirt, tie and cane. - it wasn't his projection, since the shirt and vest hided his Gem. His skin tone was a bit grey...ish, like the smoke, but he could pass as a caucasian man. One hand rested on his cane, in the other was a glass of whisky. When Black Pearl arrived, nodded to her
Black Pearl was busy admiring her new room. It was small, but comfortable. There was a large rectangular prism at one end of the room, covered in soft blankets and a small cushion. Black Pearl had never even seen a bed before. She sat on it, swinging her legs absent-mindedly. Then she heard a familiar voice. Morion was summoning her. She wasted no time in leaving the room and hurrying to the bridge, where she saw the smoky quartz sitting in the middle of the room. She bowed her head.
“You called, sir?”
If she had a heart, it would be racing. Had he made his decision? Would she finally have a new master?
“The room is nice, thank you,” she said, and she winced as her anxiety showed in her voice.
Morion was certain that is the reason, why Black Pearl was so tense It was understandable tho'
"I have considered you... wish to be my Pearl. But I never had a Pearl before, not my own Pearl anyway. Part of the job, having a Pearl as an Infiltrator is a liability"
"I am still my Diamond's everwatching eyes... tho' it is possible she will shatter me. I have failed Her after all..."
Morion sipped from his drink
"So I came to the conclusion... and decision, I will allow you to be on my side, to serve me, like the Human "pearls". As I said, I saw great potential in you when we met. I want to help you to be a strong Pearl. Worthy to serve... a Diamond."
"This is my offer! You can serve me, IF you are willing to learn. I will train you... then it is up to you. Maybe a Diamond will choose you to become Her Pearl. But that is up to you. Untill then... I grant your wish.
"I can see, you are quite happy Black Pearl. Tell me about your dreams... now I'm curious!'
The Gem sipped from his drink A human came, a servant, to refill his glass Silent, obedient... efficient "I know you won't let me down Black Pearl... don't worry!"
The Smoky Quartz smiled gently "Now... after your dreams, please tell me about your late Master! Part of your training will be to avange her shattering! That is an important part to close your past, so you could have a future! Trust me, I know how hard it can be to have the spirits of the past hanging around... "
Black Pearl nodded. She could handle it. Or at least she thought she could…
“My biggest dream…” she said, looking down. “Is to be a loyal servant to a powerful Gem, and…” she blushed. “To love. My Kambaba Jasper was strong, brave… She was a bit hard on me, but I… I loved her. I loved her in a way that I could never understand. And I just want to find that again.”
Her eyes suddenly darkened, the purple turning to a shade that was almost black.
“Then, she met her. A Musgravite. She claimed to be from Home World, but she lied. She tried to take my Jasper away from me, so I tried to learn more about her. When I found out she was a rebel, Kambaba didn’t listen to me!” Black Pearl laughed. “She said she didn’t want me anymore. She said she didn’t need me. Then Musgravite… She destroyed my form, and Kambaba thought it was funny, that it was just a joke. But then the rebel scum struck her, and killed her, and when I came out, I was alone…” She gritted her teeth. “I saw her shards. I held them in my hands. I still loved her. Even after she abandoned me, I did… I felt so worthless, so angry. I wanted to die, but I wanted to kill her even more…”
"I knew a Musgravite once. She was a powerful Gem... with a bodyguard Jasper. He was a strong, but a bit rebelious... no... rebelious is not the right word. Wild! That is! He was like a wild horse. Or a force of nature. Untameable! That Musgravite wanted peace. Tried to reason with the Rebels... last time I saw her, she wanted to organize a summit, peace conference, to save Earth and the Gems from themselves. She had dreams and hopes..."
The smoky Quartz shook his head with a sad sigh
"She dissapeard. With my beloved Demetry. That was the name of the Jasper. I'm sure, the Rebels killed or bubbled them. But knowing Demetry, he fought to the bitter end, protecting his lady... so I know Black Pearl, how hard to live with such a loss"
"And how hard is to release your hatred. I tried to teach this lesson to my Apprentice, a young Fire Opal too. But it is for you too Black Pearl, so listen carefully!"
He walked to one of the monitors
"The road of revenge leads straight to the sun, hanging on the horizon. There are no wayside inns to give the traveller rest, there are no detours, byways or deviations. It is a long, bloody path that can only end in a grave"
After a little silence he shhok his head again
"Avenging Her shattering is not the same as revenge Black Pearl! And don't be silly, you are not worthless! You never was and never will be!
As Black Pearl listened to Morion, her eyes eventually began to lighten. This was a Gem who knew her sorrow. "Road to revenge, huh..." She murmured. It sounded... scary. But it was a road that she was willing to travel. Her grief had lessened over the past few years, but she could never forget the hatred that she felt when she found Kambaba's shards... "But... I'm just a Pearl," she said. "My duty is to serve. That's what I was made for! I want to avenge her, I really do! But I can't... I'm not strong enough. I can't fight! How do you know that you can teach me?" Then, realizing her mistake, she bowed her head humbly. "Forgive me. I didn't mean to doubt your abilities. I am only doubting my own. Your words are kind, sir, but there is only one thing that I am worthy of, and that is being a simple servant."
"You are just afraid to be strong. Pearls are servants, but the Diamonds realised their potential, this is why some of them are choosen to be on the side of the poewrful Gems and even the Matriarchs! Think my little Pearl!
He poked Black Pearl on the forehead
"If Pearls would be weak... how they could serve a strong or important Gem? It wouldn't make much sense, am I right?"
"You are free to doubt Black Pearl! I don't need mindles drones to nod to my every words and comands! Use your head, and give voice to your doubts! A good servant is always keeping her master's interests before anything else! And standing there and just nodding? Watching as your Master makes a fool out of herself? That is the opposite of a good servant! A Pearl is more than a simple servant! Robonoids and drones are simple, mindles things... a Pearl? A Pearl is more than that! A Pearl is in a sense, a partner.
Pearl scratched her arm, looking down. What he was saying made sense… But she still couldn’t help but be afraid. Then she frowned. Voice her doubts? Voice her doubts?! This Gem was asking her to do something that nobody had ever asked before. Pearls were supposed to be quiet, humble servants, but Morion was calling her a partner. An equal. It was too much for her to understand, but she kind of liked the idea. It made her feel like she was more than just what she was made to be. Blasphemy! She thought with a small smile, but she had never felt so encouraged. Perhaps Morion was seeing a potential in her that she didn’t. “Okay,” she said, looking up at him. “I guess I’ll try! I’m going to try to be strong!” She had never felt so powerful than when she said those words.
"You need no armor, you need no sword. You need only to know that you cannot be defeated..."
The Smoky Quartz smiled and turned to a monitor
"Winds blow, nations change, Empires rise and fall, but the simple folk will always be asked to shoulder the weight..."
He nodded "Like the Rubies and the Pearls... but when you last saw a Ruby next to a Diamond? Quartzes, Agates, Peridots, Lazulis... none of them are worthy to be with a Diamond all the time! Just the Pearls. The simple minded Gems see only servants, pretty things... but as I said, a weak and useless Gem would never be on the side of a strong Gem!"
"I tried to teach this lesson to Light Mocha Pearl too... but he refused to listen and learn. Poor Pearl..
Black Pearl couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She had never realized it before! A Pearl to every Diamond, how could she have been so blind? Now she was starting to think. What had those Pearls done so that they rose to the rank of serving a Diamond? Perhaps they were trained… The same way that Morion was planning to train her!
“I think I get it,” she said, her eyes flashing as she smiled. “I actually think I can do this! I’m going to be the best Pearl ever! Under your guidance, of course. But… I still have one question.”
And it was a very important one. It had been on her mind since she met the Smoky Quartz.
“It's a little off-topic, but... Why did you save me from that corrupted Gem?”
"I'm glad you understand it... I always told Chip, my Fire Opal Apprentice, the truth of the world can be found sitting at the riverside, The river never begins, the river never ends. All of life is like the river, lessons never begin and lessons never end"
The smoky Quartz nodded with a gentle smile "A question? Good! Goooooood! Questions make the world go forward!"
It was nice to see Black Pearl was happy
Then Moiron listened and then nodded
"Why did I saved you from that Corrupted Gem? I will tell you but first... I am curious, what do you think, why did I saved you?"
The Smoky Quartz rested on his cane The Pearl was on the right track tho'; it was indeed an important question
The Smoky Quartz watched Black Pearl She was so cute Blushing all the time and all... it was really cute He gave his glass to the human next to him, who walked away with it, like a good little obedient Pearl Human servants were good in that The smoky quartz walked to his Pearl and gave a soft kiss to her forehead "Because you are a Gem Black Pearl. Like me. Rebel. Independent. Monster. It is no mater. We are all the same. We are Gems. And Pearls life is as important as a Quartz's life! I had the chance to kill that Corrupted Monster... our fight was a bloody one and I was merciless! You were there; basically I have teared that thing apart. Claws, fangs, powerfull blows... but in the end, after it poofed, I didn't shattered it. It was and it is a Gem also, like me.... like you. You and I are the same. Gems."
Morion caressed the Pearl's cheek And winked
"...and you are cute. Letting a cute "girl" to die would have been a crime^^"

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
