"IT'S NOTHING!" Ruby shouted, apropos of nothing. Then she winced as she realized how loud she was, looking up at Lapis apologetically. "I mean - I mean... d-don't worry about it." Ruby said, very clearly forcing herself into a neutral expression, looking down at the sand. "That was all my fault - we can just, go and... do whatever you wanted to do. I'm sorry for my outburst, ma'am." Ruby said towards Peridot, a little dismissively. Clearly, whatever had happened had affected her emotionally, as she left her arms down at her side and stayed quiet after that, shuffling uncomfortably now. She could not look at Peridot, no matter how hard she tried, so the sand would have to do for now.
Peridot stood for a moment, uncertain of how to proceed. She gave a dismissive wave towards Ruby, as if brushing away a problem. "It's truly no issue; it's been my experience that you can't be around any ruby without expecting at least some shouting." she said as her gaze drifted off thoughtfully, finally returning to look at Lapis and Ruby. "Most of the rubies I've met are assertive, loud and goal-oriented, so nothing seems to be abnormal. Well, other than learning about the natives of a planet from a lapis and ruby that live here. I suppose that's outside the norm of gem operations but nothing has been normal recently." she rambled on, tapping a finger to her cheek. Finally she snapped back to reality and looked to Lapis again. "Ah, I digress. I came here simply with a mission to observe. Was there something either of you would like to do?" she asked, a tad eager.
Ruby slowly looked up to Peridot as she started talking, especially when she started talking about 'any rubies.' Ruby stared at her, and once she said 'I came here simply with a mission to observe,' Lapis could probably spot the sand underneath Ruby's feet beginning to solidify, turning to glass, creating a jagged glass platform underneath her. Steam rose off her forehead as she clenched her fists and shut her eyes. Once Peridot was done speaking, Ruby let out an anguished shout, opening her eyes to stare at her. "You don't get it! I thought you didn't get it, but now I know you don't! You're just another stuck up Homeworld gem that doesn't care about any other gems, you just care if your mission gets done! You're just here to get to know us because it's your job!" Ruby shouted, stomping her feet. She was radiating heat now, and glanced up at Lapis. Realizing how angry she was, and how that might look to Lapis, she just shouted, "FORGET IT!"
Ruby turned on her heels and stomped off, leaving glass circles underneath her feet wherever she stepped.
Lapis blinked at Peridot's words, then felt Ruby swiftly heating up. She hardly had time to pull away before Ruby became painful to touch, and afterward simply resigned to watching her with an astounded, hurt expression. She hadn't seen Ruby like this before. When Ruby stomped away, Lapis started as if she were about to go after her, but turned back to Peridot out of some obligation. "Sorry—wait, no I'm not—uh—I don't know what happened at first but that was definitely because Ruby's hurt." She paused and checked over her shoulder for how far Ruby had gotten, then spoke with a little more urgency. "I mean, I'm upset too but-" She checked back again to see Ruby approaching the boardwalk, and likely skipped ahead a few sentences. "-we've done a lot to become our own gems during our time on Earth so to hear you say 'any ruby' is—sorry." Having decided she couldn't afford any more time in catching up with Ruby, she turned tail and hurried after her. But she continued in shouts back to Peridot. "—Wait no I'm not! Enjoy your animal though! Ruby wait!" and likely jogged out of earshot.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
