Bloodstone had decided to take a day off from all the adventuring that seemed to have been popping up more and more for them and just took the time to explore Beach City again. The berserker had been quite busy with helping Light and Para with the gear that had been pulled out from the docks that Morion sent and..well even a gem like Octi needs some time to just do what they want, right?
"Let's see...might as well check out some of the shops and businesses, at least see what's popular and all."
Somehow in all of the time Blood had been near the city, she never took the time to really figure out what were the better spots in Beach City. Obviously there had to have been at least one gem who knew that, and..well it's always best to know what's important near your location. Octavia was trying to not stir too much trouble up but it's kind of hard for an at least six foot tall red gem to not get noticed. Whether or not there would be any other gems in the city today was yet to be seen.

Another day on the town in Beach City and Peridot was patrolling for her Lapis or Ruby friends. She needed help with her next assignment of assessing the Galaxy Warp and a lapis lazuli gem was perfect for the job, given their ability to control the surrounding waters. A ruby would make excellent protection as well. Having visited their apartment and searched the beach she was certain that the two were in the town somewhere. She witnessed further examples of humans trading and carrying out their normal business as she had seen last time she was in Beach City. Humans of various shapes, sizes and colors wandered the boardwalk, but none were short and red or tall and blue.
What Peridot did spot was a towering, dark-green skinned gem walking nearby. Peridot's eyes widened as she beheld the sight, noting that this gem, clearly a soldier type, was not adorned with diamonds nor stars. She remembered Lapis telling her that they had yet to be attacked in Beach City, so she assumed that whatever this gem's loyalty, she'd at least have a warning if she was hostile. 'This gem might prove to be just who I was looking for.' Peridot thought. She followed him for a moment until coming within an acceptable distance. "Soldier!" she called out, ceasing her approach well outside of arm's reach. "Are you currently unassigned?" she asked in a tone that was sincere instead of harsh.
Bloodstone turned around when she heard Peridot call out. Clearly a little bit surprised, Octi calmed down whenever she noticed that the smaller gem didn't really look hostile..if nothing else they probably wouldn't last much in a fight anyway.
"Erm...technically speaking, yes. Don't exactly have an affiliation anyway. What's it to you?"
Bloodstone walked over to Peridot, crouching down a little to get closer to her size. Enemy or not, Octi was trying to appear somewhat friendly at the moment. It would help either way.
"I've been by myself for awhile. I'm one of those gems that...tends to wander around however they want. If I may ask, who are you and...well what do you want from me? Just curious, that's all."
Peridot promptly gave a diamond salute to Bloodstone once she had asked who she was. "I am Peridot, Facet-5 Cut-9XN, technician under Pink Diamond." she stated and ended her salute, putting her hands behind her hips and looking up at Bloodstone. "I'll be brief... I too wander often and there are dangers along my travels. With reports of corruption and open rebellion my work of maintaining the gem infrastructure is greatly hindered. I require an escort with combat prowess capable of warding such dangers. You appear to be a capable soldier gem, a Bloodstone if I'm not mistaken. If you are technically assigned the I will not intrude upon your present duties. Otherwise, I must request your presence on a assignment with me." she explained. Her voice sounded like a normally quiet individual attempting to speak before a crowd. There was a hint of worry in her voice, though Peridot stood confident. Meanwhile she was calculating in her mind how quickly she could jump away from the giant before her.
Bloodstone smiled and nodded once Peridot appeared to finish speaking
"You are correct, I am indeed a Bloodstone. I'll admit erm...Facet and Cut numbers have sort of slipped my mind although I'm sure I'll remember them at some point. Anyway, I am not assigned to anywhere at the moment. Yellow Diamond has..erm...not needed my services for some time. So I suppose if you need an escort I don't mind helping out."
Octi didn't want to risk spilling too many secrets. She was..somewhat correct about Yellow Diamond not needing her, then again Bloodstone had decided to stop listening to her when she had essentially gotten stranded on Earth with barely any communications, whether it was the fault of sabotage or not. That and..well they still weren't a normal Bloodstone either way to begin with
A smile could almost be seen on the Peridot's face. She had expected some hesitation, perhaps some demand for authorization, but this Bloodstone had agreed without issue. It was also a relief that this gem wasn't outwardly hostile. She turned and walked off towards the beach, glancing back to see if Bloodstone was following. "Open communications with Homeworld have been down since the Hub was destroyed. Only the lunar base has a means of communicating to Homeworld at present... With your assistance, however, we may just be able to change that. For now my current assignment is to assess damage to the Galaxy Warp. Don't worry, we won't be warping there." Peridot explained, doing her best to contain her excitement and act professional. For a young gem she wasn't doing the best job of that.
Bloodstone smiled and nodded, standing back up to her full height and walking after Peridot
"The galaxy warp? I think I remember visiting that before although I could not tell how much..true damage has been done. Perhaps you could make more sense of how much we could fix it up."
Octi smiled, seeing how excited the younger gem looked. It was somewhat obvious that Peridot wasn't used to being able to lead like this to Bloodstone, but she didn't mind following as an escort. It gave them something to do for awhile anyway. Besides, never know who or what might pop up on the way there
"So um...if I may ask, if we're not warping there, how exactly are we going to get to the Galaxy Warp? Just by walking?"
"You are observant, excellent! Yes we'll be flying there. Walking would be greatly inefficient when we're as pressed for time as we are." she explained as she opened a screen. Now standing out on the open beach, she tapped a few things on the screen before closing it. She stood there, hands on her hips and oddly confident about something she had done. Then, with little grace, a ship came crashing into the sand before, kicking up a small cloud as it had landed at a pace most would consider unsafe. A circular crack in the hull appeared and opened outward, making a ramp to enter the vessel. Peridot walked up the ramp and into the vessel without hesitation. "It may be a tight fit at first, but the interior is accommodating." she called out from inside, knowing Bloodstone would likely have some trouble with the entrance.
Bloodstone looked up in surprise when she saw the ship land onto the sand. Admittedly this made sense for a quick way to get to the Galaxy warp but it was still something that Octi had expected to see. This Peridot might be a much better ally than initially expected.
"Alright..you really have all of this planned out. I'm impressed."
She smiled as she crouched down a little, bending her back to squeeze through the entrance before making it past and getting into the ship. Bloodstone adjusted herself a little with her shapeshifting, just to fit a little bit better in the ship so that she would not possibly risk taking up as much space.
"So I feel like I must ask...well two things really. How long is it going to take to get there and..how good of a pilot are you?"
Octi looked over at Peridot, just wondering whether this ride may be smooth or fairly bumpy
The Roaming Eye ship had a deceptive trick about its size that, once inside, it was spacious and open. Peridot walked over to the command chair that was centered opposite of the entrance and sat down. There was a smile on her face that couldn't be seen, she always enjoyed praise even if it was minor. "One-hundred-eighty-three seconds. That's with going to an altitude of low atmospheric density for supersonic travel. While I'm no nephrite, I can handle simple planned flights. Nothing fancy." she replied as she pressed a button that closed the ramp. Toying with a hologram of the Earth she plotted a course, set desired vectors and finalized the flight plan. Tapping a few screens on the control panel before her it finalized the plan and ship hummed a bit louder. Standing up out of her chair, she took a few steps towards Bloodstone. As she did so the view from the window showed the coastal town outside disappeared as the ship launched into the air and sped towards its destination, with zero influence on the motion inside the ship.
Peridot stood akimbo, not really paying attention to the world outside of the window. Her question prompted her to take a glance around the interior to see the empty copilot seats. "Only when I'm assigned one." she replied, returning her eyes to meet with Bloodstone's. "This ship was assigned to me to enable me rapid access between the moon base and Earth while I moved between sites. Occasionally I would be assigned bismuths to assist with construction, rubies for escorts or quartzes for scouting. Most of my work has solo. A frustrating issue is that I've only truly required an escort with this rebellion business and I can't simply return requisition one. I've yet to encounter any gems desiring to kill me and I'd prefer that record was maintained..." she rambled on, her eyes looking at some concerning, nonexistent thing beside her.
"Fair enough. I can understand why you'd want an escort then."
Bloodstone looked down at Peridot, her mind wandering to how many missions she may have done on her own..who knows.
"So, do we have a plan for when we get to the Galaxy Warp? I know you'll look it over and examine the damage but..do you think you'll be able to fix any of it?"
Octi had no idea how much technical skill laid in one Peridot, but if they were able to fix any of the warps then..well it would be quite the big deal around the entire planet.
"I'll try my best to keep an eye out for any corrupted gems or..well other gems in general whenever we land there. As much as I understand why you feel you could use me as an escort, I get the feeling we won't find anyone trying to oppose us at the warps."
"That would be optimal. The rebels disabled the Galaxy Warp so they might guard it to keep it disabled. Not that I'd fly straight into a hostile force blindly. If there is opposition there I won't bother inspecting the site." she explained, turning to look out one of the side windows watching as clouds and continents drifted by below them for a moment. "I will not be able to repair it with just the equipment I have available. Assessing the damage is the first step in repairing it. If the warps have been disabled by brute force then some flask robonoids would be sufficient to restore the site to working condition, but I will still need to know a number to utilize. If it has been destroyed beyond repair then there'd be no need to bother with that location. If they're disabled by simply disabling the stream link then that's another issue entirely. Unfortunately we won't know until I'm there." she said, gesturing with her hands while she spoke. The Roaming Eye began its descent and the clouds below them grew closer.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
