Peridot looked at Bloodstone's chains and a subtle smile appeared on her face. The view from the windows showed the Galaxy Warp in the distance, approaching rapidly. The Red Eye lacked any form of of grace or tact in it's approach, zooming up to to the platform at high speed and stopping almost instantly before it. Spinning around, a hissing noise could be heard as the ramp opened up. Peridot walked over to the ramp, waiting for it to open completely. The ramp finally folded outward, touching the edge of the Galaxy Warp and Peridot stepped out to look around, not initially spotting any gems, creatures or anything moving. "When was the last time you were here?" Peridot asked, taking a few cautious steps out on the platform of the Galaxy Warp. She hadn't bothered to look back at Bloodstone, her eyes were still scanning the scene for any gems that might be around.
"Hm...I'd have to say a few weeks ago if we're going by Earth time."
Bloodstone shrugged and followed Peridot down the ramp, looking around herself for any gems or enemies in general that were possibly around.
"So..now that we're here, how exactly are you going to assess the damage? I know you have tech and stuff but, tell you the truth I don't think I've ever seen a Peridot do work like this before."
It was true, even in what memories there were from Homeworld, Octi had always been kept in the more...well, strength and army related parts of the world. Never really saw any gems work on other tasks unless she snuck off and even then that was limited to some degree
Peridot made a lap the central warp pad in her walk before coming back to Bloodstone and stopping there for a second, opening a screen and verifying the number of warps. "Assessment is rather simple; if something is functioning then I won't bother with it. The rest I'll simply estimate the repair costs of and move on. The power source here still seems to be operational, though I suspect that any rebels would actually want that to work anyway." she explained with her eyes fixed on her screen and tapping away at an inventory checklist. Her attention shifted and she walked over to the nearest warp pad. Standing atop it, she could tell that it was still working without so much as a scratch on it. She marked it off as pristine condition and moved on to the next one. The next had a giant crack that split it in to, but it wasn't missing any major pieces. She marked it down as needed one flask robonoid and moved on to the next. Standing on the main warp pad to Homeworld she walked around and looked at the various cracks and noted that chunks of it were missing entirely.
"For example... The requirements to repair the Homeworld warp would require a dozen flask robonoids at minimum, not to mention it might require a stream reconnection. Once the Communications Hub is operational again that will be easy." she spoke aloud before marking her notes on her screen. Hopping down, she went to another busted warp pad. "While these ones might require only one flask robonoid. Or replacement entirely. Simple fixes, really." she rambled on, her eyes still fixed on the screen.
Bloodstone nodded and followed Peridot around, observing her curiously. It was a first for the big berserker to watch a Peridot go around and examine all of the damage.
"I see...well I suppose it's good that they're simple fixes. Makes you work a little bit easier."
Octi smirked and looked at the warp pads herself, trying to figure out just what weapons had been used to damage them. It would give the Bloodstone a good idea about what the rebels may have..or had at their disposal at some point. Who knows how long it may have been since the wrap pads were taken out all that time ago.
"So, Peridot, I feel like asking, um..do you remember anything from Homeworld about..experiments or anything like that? Just asking for um...r-reasons."
(I guess it takes place after "Between a rock and a hard place")
Light used to come to place were he could think... think about he past, present and future. These places were empty, no gems or humans could see him. Or at least there was no point in it. Sometimes he was in his gem room, sometimes in the meadow and sometimes here- in the warp pads.
Warp pads are destroyed, it is not posible for homeworld gems to come here by them. Pearl used to come here very often when he first landed here. He was hoping that he will find a way to come back to his old home. However Crystal gems found him first.
He was siting behind the pillar. He fall asleep. Light was sleeping like that for probably like 2 houres. A converstaion woke him up. Gem freaked out and was forced to cover his mouth with his hand so he wouldn't yell. After taking a few big breaths he take a look. There was Bloodstone, his old friend. There was no point in being scared. Pearl stood up and decided to approach her. "Oh hi Bloody! What are you doing he-" He froze, there was a Peridot with him.
Peridots created Light and tried to kill him later. He was scared of them. Light looked with akward face at Bloodstone "Bloody... who is she?" It was easy to spot that he is scared, he pointed at Peridot when he ended the sentence.
Peridot carried on about her business of marking the busted warps off her list and denoting their repair requirements while Bloodstone spoke with her. "My time there was brief, but--" she began to say, not really bothering to speak up for her escort who was getting increasingly further away. Hearing another voice, she froze in place and looked around. Her eyes met with Light's with an equal amount of shock. An awkward moment passed as she looked between Light and Bloodstone. "Bloody..?" she repeated. Closing her screen, Peridot stood to face Light and looked him over, making note of his strange appearance. She had never seen nor heard of whatever model of pearl he was supposed to be. "Pearl, identify yourself. Who is your master?" she asked in an authoritative tone.
Seeing that Peridot is 100% sure loyalist just made Light feel even more nervous. His knees were falling. He was also acting like he lost his tongue"Well- I -aaa- you know how it is when- uhhh... PLEASE DON'T DELETE ME!"
Light grabed his head "I am gonna pass out..." He decide to grab Bloodstone arm. That way he was feeling more safe. Bloodstone was much stronger after all. Light whispered something to her ear "Why are you working with her?"
Light wasn't sure how to indentify himself. He looked at Peridot with shy look and than looked at ground. He was standing behing Bloodstone "I am Light Mocha Pearl, the prototype of Mocha Pearl nr 0001." Light wasn't made in a kindergarden like most of the gems. He was made in a lab and he was an experiment that wasn't suppose to live longer than few years, he had no idea what his gem cut is. His creators saw no point in telling him this.
Things had changed far too rapidly for Peridot's liking. The key words that truly caught her attention were Bloodstone saying friend and unofficial. The mystery pearl that had appeared had also identified himself as a prototype and failed to render a diamond salute to her. Peridot had shifted to a rather defensive stance without thinking about it and her eyes quickly darted between the other two gems. "A few change of masters? A prototype pearl? This makes no sense. How is he your friend? Wouldn't a pearl like him be with his master? Unless he was sent here on an errand... Or... Bloodstone... your friend doesn't has no diamonds on him." she called out, her tone increasingly suspicious. She was practically standing on her toes, ready to jump away at any second.
Bloodstone looked between Peridot and Light, sensing the tension in the air between the two of them
"Peridot, I know you may not immediately believe me when I say this, but Light here is sort of...free roaming if you wanna go with that. The reason he doesn't have any diamonds is I believe due to the fact that he was never formally assigned one."
Octi looked down at Light, patting him on the back before back at Peridot
"Either way, even if he's with the Crystal Gems, I promise he's someone you can trust. That's the thing I've discovered about all this stuff going down on Earth, you have to be prepared to make alliances that might benefit you in the long run..that's how i think of it at least"
Peridot was becoming more and more scary. Light had no idea what could he say. He was so nervous that he even forgot about the diamond salute. It couldn't be worse.
Luckly his friend Bloodstone decided to say something. Light had no idea what could he say without telling Peridot that he is a traitor without owner. Light is a really lucky gem isn't he?
Pearl jumped on Bloodstone and covered her mouth with his hands. He started to lauh like he had serious problems... "Huh? Crystal gem? Here? Whaaaat? Hahaha don't be silly! Haha... " Light looked at Bloodstone "She is defective! And I am also defective! We are all defective! Hahaha... sometimes she tells weird things! How many times I need to tell you Bloody that there are no Crystal Gems here! Why are you so green..." Pearl fall and passed out.
Watching the strange display before her, Peridot was simply confused. She didn't know whether to shoot, fly away or disregard the situation entirely. The mention of Crystal Gems made her eyes narrow and her gauntlet shifted to its blaster configuration with sparks of energy zapping occasionally. When Light passed out it took Peridot a moment to register what had just happened. She dropped her stance and her gauntlet returned to normal and a baffled Peridot tried to make sense of it all. "Well that was certainly... odd. Given that you know this pearl, Bloodstone, please ensure that he doesn't become hostile. Not that he's currently a threat doing... whatever he's doing now." she said and re-opened her screen. It was obvious she was more annoyed and confused than angry.
She continued walking around the Galaxy Warp, annotating which warps were broken. "But if I might suggest, Bloodstone... the only alliance that benefits any of us in the long run is that of our own, as gems. The Crystal Gems have confused the humans for being a matter of permanence. The poor clods are simply confused, which explains why they break things like their access to Homeworld or the Communication Hub." she ranted before finally closing her screen to look at Bloodstone. "I believe my assessment of this site is sufficient." she stated. Her attention shifted to Light and pondered what to do with him.
Light's gem summoned a hologram. It was probably from Pearl's memories.
Light was on the operation table on the right there was a poofed gem, the gemstone was similar to his. There were also 2 Peridots "We did it, the Mocha Pearl is in the prototype's gemstone." The other Peridot looked at her work mate with a relief "So now we only need to..." First peridot looked at Light with emotionless look "Yes" Soon she grabed a weird device and place it on Light's gem. Pearl started to yell "No... No! Please no! I-!"
The hologram was gone because Light woke up. "No!" He looked at Bloodstone "I just had the worst nightmare ever, first I was in a comunication hub and-" He saw a Peridot "I am still dreaming, punch me in the face or something."
Walking off towards the ship, still hovering silently at the edge of the Galaxy Warp, Peridot motioned for Bloodstone to follow. "I suppose we can put him on the ship while we return to the human settlement of Beach City. No reason to leave him lying around if he's a good gem." she stated, not really paying attention to anyone as she walked into the Roaming Eye. Once inside she tapped a few buttons and began planning the course to return to Beach City, practically repeating the last journey in reverse. Her attention was diverted from this task upon hearing Light speak once more. Turning away, she approached to watch the strange projection and eyed the pearl curiously when he awoke. "That can be arranged. Though I'm curious what a prototype such as yourself is doing running around the Galaxy Warp." she commented.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
