After looking around for several moments, Spinel decided to continue along the ravine, knowing he would eventually find something that would lead him to the warp pad. Sifting through the memories of the green gem, he learned about these "broken gems" as they called themselves. Knockoffs. Thugs. Children pretending that they're something bigger. Much has changed while he was gone, and he intended to learn more.
It would take some time to reach the warp pad with how fast he was going. Every once in a while, Spinel would stop and look around to see if there were any monsters around, and eventually noticed that far above him was the same thing he saw from before. Flying high overhead, there wasn't much Spinel could do, and so decided to keep it in the back of his mind, looking up to see what it was doing every now and again.
Sulfur wasn't very surprised at this reaction from the automaton. He had no clue as to what it's purpose was, but there were many reasons that would be able to explain it. It could have been fleeing, after the other gem, or some third goal that interested it. Sulfur however decided that he should destroy it and examine it. He too valued data. If it were just some machine and he couldn't gain any information, then it would make a cool decoration. Once spiffed up of course.
He started to jog after the automaton, drawing two blades from his gem. He was easily able to keep up with it by running. While a quick jump and slice would have probably been enough to scrap it he decided to follow it for now. He wanted to see exactly what it's goal was before slicing it out of the sky.

The automaton flew up in the sky, trying to catch up with it's fellow mechanical brethren that was already recording Spinel . The Mad Scientist sighed, she should've assumed that Sulfur would destroy one of her automatons. "I'm just not going to bother with him, it's not like he can find me or anything." The mad Scientist sighed, not wanting to spend any more automatons on this mission, she did not send more after Sulfur and let him be.
Meanwhile the other automaton managed to successfully scan the area for resources, having it's job completed, the automaton floated it's way back to Obsidian ship while the other automaton continued to watch Spinel from the skies, not letting it out of it's sights.
As Spinel traveled along the ravine, he felt compelled to go a certain way, as if a familiar presence was in that direction. He stopped only for a moment before turning and moving where his instincts told him to. The farther that Spinel went, the more uneasy he got about the thing that flew above him, watching him. Suddenly, with seemingly no provocation, Spinel sprung up through the air and grabbed the machine in his mouth, pulling it with him to the ground before coiling his body around it and tearing it apart like an animal.
Whatever this thing was, he didn't want it to find out where he was going. After he had finished, he looked around to see that he was alone once more. Somewhat relieved, he quickly reverted back into his humanoid form and continued to follow the strange but familiar "scent" that he was compelled to find. The farther he went, the more he gathered on the strange feeling. He could tell that he was getting close.
As Sulfur followed the being he heard a crashing noise. This caused him to become more wary. The machine in front of him didn't seem to be slowing down, so he continued to jog after it. Up ahead he saw the source of the noise. Another machine of the same type had been smashed down out of the air. Next to it stood a purple corruption that looked like a snake. Sulfur grinned, perhaps his hunt wasn't in vain.
Apparently the beast hadn't seen him, he was still at a considerable distance, and many rocks could have concealed him from view. As he tried to get closer to the corruption more rocks blocked his view as the corruption transformed. He continued to follow the automaton that was after the corruption.

This was expected of a mindless creature such as Spinel corruption, however this did not surprise Obsidian since she had seen corrupted monsters roam about little times when she had sent her automatons in scout runs. At least the returning automaton had finally reached back to the ship so Obsidian wouldn't have to worry about resources any time soon. The automaton entered through the ship's little port where all Automaton leave from the hull of the ship and into whatever they were ordered to do.
The automaton that ignored Sulfur soon took the place of the other late automaton that was met with a untimely demise from the corruption, Obsidian had hoped this time, the snake corruption had not seen this other automaton sneaking from behind and continue to "Record" data for Obsidian.
As Spinel examined the machine's remains, he realized this was gem technology, more advanced than he had ever seen, and decided that he needed to leave before something happened that he didn't want to be a part of. As he made his way to the exit, however, the pull toward the familiar sensation stopped him in his tracks. The feeling took him away from the warp pad, leading him deeper into the Kindergarten.
As he continued, he realized what it was that he sensed, and began moving quicker than before, practically charging where his instinct lead him. As he pushed on, he eventually saw a landed ship not far off in the distance, and slowed his approach; it was close. He'd never dealt with Homeworld ships before, and he hasn't talked to any Homeworld gems for some time now. As he approached the ship, he stood there, unsure of what to do, before hesitantly knocking on the side as if it were a door.

This was bad, Obsidian knew the target was reaching to her ship and there was no time to start the ship before the creature would reach here. The automaton however continued to watch the creature from afar.
And this is how the great scientist dies, from a knock of a door only from seconds of smashing wide open.
well that would be the case if she didn't feel the need to comply to open the door, which was illogical to do for her standards. Her mind was sensing something from the other creature as if they were connected by something. After hesitating for a while, she opened the door to let the creature in and possibly kill her..
(OOC: Alrighty, because of my long time not replying and a bit of inactivity from all of us recently I kinda wanna get this thing rolling again. Ima restart the order and just go ahead and post.)
Shortly after knocking on the side of the ship, the door slid open and revealed a female gem looking down at him. Spinel was unsure of how to react; something as important as this hasn't happened in a long time. He stood still for a short time before smiling, and he immediately skipped the pleasantries. "It's been a long time since I've seen one like us." He took a step back, giving the stranger room to step out of her ship. "We have a lot to talk about." As he said this, he walked a few meters away from the ship and waited for the stranger to follow him. Although he didn't show it, he was so excited he forgot to read the gem to see what kind of person they were.
It had been so long since Spinel had last seen another corrupted gem, he almost surrendered himself to the idea that he would have to live among the inferior gems for the rest of his life. Now that there was another, he had to reevaluate what was going to happen. With new possibilities flying through his mind, he decided he wanted to actually meet this new gem and go from there. As he waited, a single thought raced in his head: The corrupted could unite once again.

Obsidian stood there, confused at what this intruder was talking about, "Excuse me?" was all that Obsidian managed to say at this moment. She took a moment to collect her thoughts, one of us? Lot to talk about? It's as if this person has met them before and befriended long time ago! "Do i know you!" she asked once again, taking a step out of her ship. "First thing, why aren't you going to attack me and devour me like all these corrupt monsters do? Second thing, What in the Diamonds name are you referring about!?" she yelled, her head in a state of confusion.
It also didn't help that she had been through a rough week after she had found out a certain data file regarding her and her old teammates from her past.
"Excuse me?" Spinel turned to the gem with a small smile still on his face. She seemed to be somewhat confused, which was understandable if she had gone as long without seeing another corrupt as he had. "Do I know you!" The smile on his face dimmed and he looked somewhat puzzled. She talked like she didn't know what was happening, like she was one of the others and asked him why he wasn't a mindless beast. "Why do you ask that?" He said, starting to walk back towards the ship.
The situation was deteriorating but it could still be salvaged. "I'm Spinel. We don't know each other, not formally. We're familiar, though; you wouldn't have opened the door otherwise." Spinel approached the gem with a somewhat sad look on his face. "You don't know what you are, do you?"

"I'm Obsidian, the elite scientist of Home-" she cut herself short, her mind stopping as she mentioned Homeworld. How can she still associate herself with Homeworld after what she had found out.."I was a Elite scientist Homeworld, I'm just Obsidian." she murmured, her depression hitting her hard once more. She had attempted to cure this depression by forcing more projects and work upon herself, even lying to herself that she was still working with Homeworld and ignoring the truth of what her relation with Homeworld is.
"How are we familiar.." she asked, curious, she knew this was true, the fact that she feels a connection of some sort with Spinel despite not meeting him once in her entire life.
The Obsidian cut herself off when explaining herself to him, and Spinel found himself feeling something interesting; a duality he'd never felt before. As comes with his personality, he felt the need to manipulate her into being something useful to him, trying to pull on her apparent sentiment of being cut off from Homeworld. On the other hand, he had never truly felt sorry for anyone and actually wanted to help them. However, this was the first person he'd met that he considered an equal in a long time. He decided to restrain his scheming ways for the time being.
Spinel smiled as she told him her short story, however limited on the details it may have been. "How are we familiar.." He looked around for a moment, suspicious of whether or not the two were truly alone. "It would be better to talk somewhere else." He said, holding back contentment from his voice. "I would enjoy seeing you again, and I think you'd enjoy answers." Spinel began walking back towards the cliff leading down into the Kindergarten. Meeting later would give him time to think on what to do and how to explain the corruption to Obsidian. "I'll still be in the Kindergarten for a while. It should be easy for us to find each other." Just as he finished his sentence, he slid down the face of the rock wall and deeper into the Kindergarten.

"Wait what do you mean i-" she stopped as the corruption snake slithered away from her grasp. "...The Kindergarten huh?" Obsidian murmured, this gem or corruption was different from all the other gems she had met so far. This one was full of excitement and could barely contain within himself.
Nevertheless, she stood by the door of her ship, deciding if her next move should be meeting up with this corruption. It was a 50/50 chance that it was either a trap or he had some information that are valuable to her. Obsidian snapped her fingers, the remaining automatons returned to the ship and a new set of three automatons appeared, this time being shield variants. While new reinforcements appeared, two stelleria drones appeared beside her. She had assembled her little bodyguards and simply head deeper into the kindergarten, determined to find out what this corrupted snake gem has to say about her.
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
