Sulfur grunted and crossed his arms in front of his face to shield him from the searing wave of sand hurled at him. He brushed the sand out of his hair and off of his clothes, grunting in disappointment at the gem's careless takeoff. He gave Howlite a bland look as the gem cackled. Sulfur then ignored Howlite's joking remark and allowed the gem onto his back.
"Of course... try not to get too sappy. One can only take so much." Sulfur said, trying to kill the sappiness Howlite was creating. They then started to pursue the other gems. Sulfur noticed that the wind was blowing in his hair and tucked it into a ponytail. "That's better... Which direction are they in? I may lose them if they turn."
It was fairly likely the two Gems would lose Meta anyway at the rate she continued to gain altitude and accelerate.
Now cruising at 15,900 feet and cresting speeds of Mach 17, Meta boomed across the sky at more than three-and-a-half miles per second.
Luckily for the Broken Gems, tracking Meta directly would not be an issue, even though they were liable to fall far behind. So intense were the effects of her passage that the Gem left a long, smoldering contrail in her wake, slicing through clouds like an ethereal blade, and leaving an angry-looking cut across the blue of the sky that stretched out hundreds of miles behind her. As long as they could keep the blazing contrail in their sights, they could track Meta, though it would very likely take them a much longer time to cross the distance she was.
Howlite had lost sight of them. Fortunately they left a trail. "Follow that smoke Boss." He was silent for a few moments when so he spoke again. "So this is a weird question but... You think, after this, we could do something together? Frankly I don't care what just something. I've missed our adventures together. You remember that duel we had on Mask Island? I was convinced you were gonna let me win that one. But you didn't. To this day I find that hilarious. It tells me how unpredictable you are. Like me. Then there was the time we met Variscite. She's so great. If I wasn't with Mocha... Oh well. That's something that stays between us you hear? I want no one to know I said this."
After glossing ver the Earth's natural beauty, Prasiolite then looks to Meta for some answers, since they don't have much else to do while flying across the world. Holding her hand out and passing it through a cold cloud, she looks up to Meta and, curious about current events, asks "So what's it like? The temple, I mean. Howlite said that there are traps and weapons that protect it from onlookers. Hey, are there think chambers? Are there jail cells? Do we...take prisoners?" A thought then washes over Prasiolite as she thinks about prisons, prisoners, and what happens after that. Slowly and sounding more distressed, she asks "Do we...Shatter? I...I don't think I would ever..I don't think I could ever..."
(EDIT: Myself and Meta are moving to another thread now over at the temple. I don't know if you want to continue, but I'm just letting you two know.)
As Howlite spoke Sulfur didn't turn back, he simply looked straight ahead. Once Howlite had finished Sulfur rolled his eyes. He turned slightly toward Howlite, watching him from the corner of his eyes.
"I don't quite see what's so unpredictable about that. The duel was for the purpose of training, and because you asked of course. What kind of training would involve your opponent going easy on you?" He asked skeptically. As he continued to speak about Variscite and Mocha Sulfur was very silent for a long while. At least a minute passed and the only sound that could be heard was the swishing sand that Sulfur disturbed. He finally looked back toward Howlite with a blank expression. "I believe you should consider letting this maid go. She isn't the one for you."
(Maybe after the Howlite and Sulfur dialog finishes we`ll join in, you two can start without us.)
Howlite smiled. "Thanks Boss. I knew I could talk to you. And you're right! Mocha is not the girl for me. As soon as we get back home, I'll dump her. Perhaps then I can pursue the right girl for me. I think.... I think I'm going to tell Variscite how I feel. But enough about that. We have work to do. I saw we play this like a crocodile. We start a fight verbally. Throw some insults. Perhaps personal comments. Make them strike first. Once they do... We hit then WITH EVERYTHING we have. Total Shock and Awe! A Blitzkrieg courtesy of the Broken Gems! How's that sound Boss?" He smiled evilly hoping for his approval. That dark half was starting to creep it's way back.
Sulfur seemed to barely acknowledge Howlite's appreciation for his advice. He had half expected Howlite to attack him on the spot. Then again, they were traveling quickly on the desert and an attack would probably have hurt Howlite more than him, but he was still glad that Howlite had decided to be grateful. It was solid advice after all. Sulfur simply nodded as he spoke.
It was then that Howlite started to talk about how he wanted to ambush these rebels.
"How about you insult them and I watch. Once the fight begins go all out and I`ll go fifty percent. Showing off my abilities will only benefit them. I doubt we even need my abilities to trounce these barbarians."
Howlite cackled. "I love the way you think Boss! We'll slaughter them!" His eyes went pitch black and his teeth became like the mouth of a shark. "I LOVE THIS JOB!" His dark half which Sulfur had not seen in a long time was finally waking up. Howlite starting to twitch a little as his personality shifted. He summoned his rifle and loaded a round. Then he desummoned it. He laughed loudly then licked his lips. He then started to sing. "1, 2, a butcher's crew. 3,4 Bloody floor. 5,6 I'm gonna get my fix. 7,8 gonna end their fate. 9, 10 gonna start again." Then he laughed again. This was not something he usually did. His shifts weren't typically do drastic. But right now Sulfur had managed to pull out Howlite's other half.
Even with Meta's half-bubble to shield them, the wind and heat was intense, and Meta couldn't fully make out what the other Gem was saying, despite her face being only a foot or two from Meta's.
She didn't take her eyes off the task at hand, but she did shout back over the noise:
"It's not smart for me to try to answer your questions while we're flying this fast, and I can only hear half of what you're saying anyway. We can discuss whatever you want when we get back to the temple."
((Yeah, at this point, I think we can consider this thread entirely concluded. Let Prasiolite and I have a few more turns posting, since it'll take you much longer to get there, and then pick all this up there))
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
