So many lines had been crossed that it left the sapphire completely flummoxed. She stood, dumbfounded by what she heard as her temper practically lit the grass around her on fire. Her fists shook, her teeth clenched, but her eyes were fixed on Howlite. An utter failure, this assignment had been. Her knees were weak, she wanted to let them give out, and let her fire burn down the whole field. She'd tear them apart if she could. But she couldn't be shattered here, she couldn't let them get away without a witness. Her rage was getting the better of her, and she realized she would have to hold herself together if she was going to make it off-planet. The sapphire closed her eyes, and centered herself, before parting her lips to speak. It would only serve as catharsis for her, she knew, as Spade's look of resolve was unquestionable.
"It's not out of place for the Diamonds to have confidence in their assets. It's you who has inflicted this fate upon yourself-- yourselves. Do not blame the highest authority in the universe for your failings. You had a directive, and you tossed it away." Padparadscha's voice was absolute and severe, projecting forth all of her wrath. It was a blow through her heart to think that Spade could so easily leave behind her sisters, everything she'd known. No matter how she thought of it, the sapphire couldn't wrap her mind around it. What could compel Spade to abandon everything for a life of scraping by in the wilderness, with gems she'd barely known? After a moment, the hurt was again replaced by the pang of anger, and it no longer mattered to her. This was a transgression the sapphire wouldn't soon forget.
You think you're safe now, 9XR...Spade...but one day-- She grit her teeth as adrenaline coursed through her-- your heinous past will catch up to you. Spade...you utter fool...
