Prasiolite smiled as she gained even more adoration for the rebellion. Yet again, she was surprised by how inviting and protective the rebellion is, and it gave her hope that perhaps one day her friend and fellow rebel - A peridot gem she'd been thinking of ever since she had helped her escape to earth - would be able to join them. Still lying on the sand, she pointed at a certain group of stars, Homeworld's galaxy, and began to think of not only her friend, but the many other rebels she'd encountered while imprisoned.
"Up there, there are more Gems than you know that want to join the rebellion. When I was imprisoned, I'd heard stories of the rebellion, and they had to have emanated from somewhere, right? Homeworld had tried to snuff out any mention of it, but It's obvious that there are gems that still want to get down to earth. I was lucky; I had a friend to help me out. I have no idea where they are now, but I fear the worst. I can only hope that she wasn't shattered for her crimes."
"Sometimes, hope is all any of us can do. That's a lesson that I took many millenia to learn-- no matter how fast, how strong, how powerful or cunning or tough or well-loved you are.... Control is always relative. This universe we live in is old and vast and there will always be powers and obstacles in it that we cannot contend with beyond the matter of hope. I-"
Meta paused. Squinted.
"I... Sense something. Two somethings. Two.... Someones. Prasiolite, stand up."
Meta hovered off the beach, the air suddenly filled with a strange, feverish heat, originating from the now-agitated Crystal Gem.
"Be ready. I think we are soon to have company."
((And I think this is the point to introduce Howlite and Sulfur.))
Howlite jumped off of Sulfur before he reached the temple. Then he used the water to go around the temple. He came in from the back as Sulfur came from the front. Howlite planned to ambush these rebels. He slowly and silently made his way to the beach. He used his Tracker Vision and saw there signatures. He summoned his rifle and loaded a clip. He took aim. He aimed for Meta since she was the biggest target. He lined up his shot with her gem. He took a few deep breaths and then stopped breathing completely. This was it. This was the day they crushed 2 rebels. Perhaps he'd torture them for Intel. Who knows? All that mattered now was Sulfur's signal to engage.
Sulfur seemed to vanish after Howlite leapt from him. He had made some quick movements but after that he had seemingly vanished. Some sand had been kicked up and created a large cloud that blocked the front of the Temple from sight. Shapes could be moving about in the cloud, but they were slender and metallic, not at all like the gem.
Suddenly a five blades darted out of nowhere toward meta. It seemed that Sulfur had a similar plan. The blades all came from a different direction, yet none of them near Howlite. One blade even came from above. This harshly cut off almost any sort of dodge. One blade darted at Prasiolite from behind. The blades darted about yet no trace of Sulfur could be seen.
((I'm more or less breaking the posting order here in order to deal with responding to the initial attack from Sulfur, as religating a response to two separate players' actions to a singular post risks being clunky or over-wrought. I may have to do this more, depending on how things progress. Sorry Prasa.))
Meta tensed, response lightning fast, and whipped her hands around her 180 degrees, in a compounded, fluid gesture that almost resembled some sort of violent dance. Where her hands traced lines in the air, white fire split molocules of nitrogen and carbon dioxide and oxygen and bloomed with scorching, dangerous beauty.
Four of five blades seeking Gemflesh found only unforgiving fire, and were burned out of existence, only sparks and charred ruin reaching the sand below.
Having missed the fifth blade that came from above, Meta was forced to do her best to dodge. Even her reflexes were not enough to save her entirely, however.
Her lightning-fast backstep prevented the blade from impaling the Crystal Gem through the shoulder and possibly severing her left arm, but it still skimmed her as it descended, pealing open the thick fabric and polymer that covered her flesh and leaving a long, shallow scar down the soft meat and delicate bone-structure below.
Baring her teeth in a combination of rage and indignation at the blade's touch, Meta jumped and was abruptly 100 feet above the sand, hovering on a pillar of hot air that wavered and danced with pale sparks.
She gestured again, this time clenching her right fist in the direction of the section of sand shrouded in mist, and abruptly the sand and concealing mist detonated in a deafening roar and blinding light, a massive, expanding pyre of bluish flame hot enough to melt sand into glass. The explosion was large enough to consume a small house utterly, and its flames rose perhaps 60 or 70 feet into the air before darkening into acrid black smoke.
From it was born a shockwave that smashed like a riptide, rippling out for dozens of feet with enough force to knock an unwary gem down and stirring up hot sand mixed with smoke and clouds of sparks.
Melody: as usual, just waiting for posts

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
