Meta arrived with a resounding boom as she dropped below the sound barrier, but, aside from that, glided with eerie silence to the entrance of the forge, casting an eerie green light on the all-encompassing grey stone with her presence,
This meeting was a long time coming, in a roundabout way. Namely because if not for Meta's frustrating year of indisposition, it would have occurred a long time sooner, and, Meta suspected, with this Gem at her side, the cause of the Crystal Gems might not have sunk to such a sorry state.
Meta raised one gloved hand, and brushed the doors open.
She did not knock, shout, or search. Anyone within would have heard the thunderous noise of Meta dropping back below the sound-barrier upon her arrival at the forge.

It was a somewhat relaxed day at the Forge, the inhabitant(s) of such place were currently taking a 'day off'. It couldn't really called a day off though, inside a certain Padparascha was hard at work tweaking her main project in one of the side rooms. The front door had been left shut to indicate business was closed (not that it stopped many gems) but a rather loud noise disturbed her work. Glancing up from what she had been fiddling with Para listened for any further disturbances, finding none until the distinct sound of the front door sliding open could faintly be heard.
She motioned for whoever she was with to stay then entered into the main room, "Whoever is present, the front door was shut for a-" as Para rounded the corner to be greeted with the sight of a gem she had only heard of in stories. She couldn't be one hundred percent certain, as she had never seen a hologram of them, but if the tales she was told were true this certainly seemed like... "Meta Autunite?" The surprise on her face was evident, clearly she had never expected to see this gem.
Quickly she recomposed herself and bowed, "Forgive me, but you are the one and only Meta, correct?" The two had certainly never met, yet it seemed as if Para knew of her. And in her eyes was a mix of caution and awe...
Meta's searching green eyes glided over the space behind the outer door, dancing over floor and wall and ceiling, tracing the corridor....
The voice drew her attention, and Meta's eyes snapped to the direction it had come frome. She didn't have to wait long before a svelte, multi-eyed Gem with a wide-coverage visor emerged, the evident source of the voice, and, if Meta was correct, the Padparascha Gem known as "forge-master".
"I am Meta Autunite."
The tall green-and-purple Gem replied matter-of-factly, head dipping by way of confirmation, eyes never leaving the other Gem despite the motion.
"The other three of me have been dead many times longer than almost any Gems have been alive. Which indeed makes me "the one and only".

Para held a cordial smile, "I will be honest, your reputation precedes you. I have heard stories of you, about how you we'r- er... ahem, I should simply say that if even half of them are true then it is great seeing you alive. Though I am sorry to hear about the others..." She motioned to some chairs stacked up in the corner, "If you are going to be staying long then I can set up some chairs, perhaps get a refreshment for you? I am curious what brings you here to our humble forge here." Already she was grabbing two hairs and setting them up at the anvil that dominated the center of the room, using it almost like a table.
"If the stories you'd heard of me were more than half true, I think your optinion of me would be much lower."
Meta didn't really have any desire to sit, but it had been a long time since she met a Gem this... Courteous. Prim. It was refreshing. It made her feel almost like she wasn't slowly losing her mind on a festing organic fringe-world, pressed in on all sides by Homeworld, with nothing but Gems even less sane than her for company.
So Meta took the chair gratefully, and even smiled slightly.
"I need your help, Padparadascha. The Crystal Gems... We aren't doing well. Homeworld is growing bolder. I'm encountering more and more Gems working to their ends, and I've only been back about a week. While I was gone... Things... Things fell apart."

Para's smile remained, "I'm sure you aren't doing yourself a service, a number of gems have spoken highly of you." despite the topic her smile remained, one full of pride, "It is true that things have escalated, I personally arrived here because of it. But as for things falling apart... I would like to say I've done a good job keeping things running for the most part."
She gestured to a number of weapons along the walls and some barely visible hanging from the roof, "In my relatively short time here I have made all sorts of armaments already, and have even managed to 'guide' the group along the right path." Her smile lowered, "It was not easy I admit, but I imagine you're here to help with that. Yes?"

"We would be animals without a bit of order dear, and we certainly aren't going to be winning any wars without it." She then listened in silence to Meta as she went on, enjoying where this conversation was going more and more. Securing Meta as an ally would do wonders for her standing within the faction, the supposed 'chosen champion of Rose Quartz' supporting her...
Something else struck her, "Very well, I am willing to do as you require in return for supplies." Again her pride showed, "In fact I have already began producing something that should be instrumental winning us the war. With your return, morale should be at an all time high. Things are looking up indeed. I am curious if you had anything currently mind though."
"I thought we'd see eye to eye. It would sound like sacharine flattery if I told you I'd heard you were a smart Gem, but it would't be a lie."
"I need something a bit tricky from you. I need a cloaking device that will hide me from modern-day Homeworld sensors. And it needs to be able to do the same thing for an Era-1 Lightstrider ship. It has its own stealth measures, but they were made to foil detection systems from 16,000 years ago, and I don't even know if they're in working order."
Meta's eyebrows climbed her forehead.
"If you need anything on this earth to make that happen, I can get it. Anything. Once I have my ship back, I'll be able to fetch things from any world in the system."

Para winked, "Flattery at the right times can get one rather far."
Then almost uncharacteristically she laughed, "Oh you really are a lucky gem dear, it would just so happen that I was recently working on cloaking technology for a friend of mine. I stopped pursuing it as they... well let's just say they no longer required my services. However I still have the prototype, it would be a simple matter to modify it for your specifications. If you can bring me the ship, or at least a blueprint of it, I could optimize the device for it."
She picked up a datapad and began scrolling through, "As for personal use, I could create a smaller version that would be more portable. The only issue is power, the device is very power intensive. A field your size would require an external power source. Or..." there was a long pause as she thought to herself before shaking her head, "Hmm, no. The alternative is not preferable. The best way to go about this would be a battery of sorts. Specifically, this-" She slid the datapad over to Meta, showing a schematic for a kindergarden injector. The model seemed to match the era of those on Earth, "One of the internal parts could serve as a single use battery. If you can collect a dozen or so of them I could get to work."
Her hand extended towards Meta for a handshake, "So, is it a deal?"
At Para's mention and dismissal of an "alternative", Meta's eyes twinkled with stubborn curiosity and interest. She nodded along with everything Para said, and, when she was presented with the schematics for the Injector-components needed, it was clear she was comitting the information to memory.
But she wouldn't forget this "alternative" either.
"We have a deal,"
Meta grinned a sharp-edged little grin, and stretched out her hand to clasp Para's in return.
Meta Autunite's grip was firm if not terribly strong, but, what it lacked in power, it made up for in almost uncomfortable heat. Even through a thick glove, touching Meta was rather like touching sun-broiled asphault.
"But when I get back, we're going to discuss that "alternative", because, if it's what I'm thinking, it'd be very useful to know.

She was always one to be secretive about her business, after all her methods were often along the borders of what most would consider ethical. Yet something about Meta's response led her believe that this was a game much like her. One willing to do whatever it took to do the right thing, perhaps she could trust this one, "Most excellent, I look forward to your return. Hopefully successful in finding these parts, but the alternative is indeed there. It can be discussed then however. You will find dear that I always have an alternative. A 'plan B' you could say, it never hurts to be prepared."
Para stood herself up, "I hope to find you are a gem of a similar mind. In any case, unless there is further business those injectors wont scavenge themselves."
"As a matter of fact. There is. But it's brief business, I assure you."
Meta reached into the inside of her coat-like uniform, and brought out a slender hard-light tablet.
On its transluscent surface were two schematics: One for the ship she intended to bring back.....
And one for an archaic early-peragree sort of Gemvessel. This was... The schematic for the ships that had brought the first Gems to earth, before the Warp had been constructed, many thousands of years ago. The data was highlighted where there were issues, breaks, structural degradations... The ship shown in the schematic was a mess.
"Could you make one of them fly again? With a load onboard? It wouldn't have to be for long. Just in-system. I could supply any part or material to be found on this earth or in this solar-system for the repair-process."
Meta's expression held a dangerous mix of curiosity and calculation. There was something implied in the question, it seemed like. More to it than what Meta was saying.

Para's eyes quickly scanned the schematic of the ship, within a short while it was memorized and could be copied for her own use. The next one however, she didn't even have to spend any time really looking at it. She looked back up to Meta, "You really are a gem of conveniences aren't you." There was almost a bit of suspicion in her tone, while she wasn't expecting any sort of malicious intent it certainly was one convenience after another with this gem.
"I simply say because it is funny that you mention this, as another gem has already done just this." On her own datapad Para pulled up images of a colony ship floating over a human city, Empire City. "A Morion quartz, over a long while and with a team of humanity's brightest he was able to get the vessel working. Sadly that vessel, and its owner, is leaving if it hasn't already." For a moment she almost sounded sentimental, "But the point still stands that it is possible, but it would require a team. First a somewhat intact vessel would have to be found, which will not be easy considering at least one has been taken, and then that one will have to be fixed. The one in that image is in a somewhat fixable state, but it is not pretty."
She flipped the datapad off, "Suffice to say, it is a monumental task. Almost impossible without a full team of engineers or a miracle. And I put much more faith in a skilled team than miracles. Might I ask why you require such a ship?"
Meta listened as Para spoke. She frowned as Para detailed the work necessary, but did not look the slightest bit surprised at the requirements to get one of the broken-down vessels running.
"Well then, I shall either assemble a team, or force a miracle. Perhaps both."
She tapped at the arm of the chair she sat in, expression thoughtful.
"I have knowledge of ship-mechanics myself. I am not a technician-Gem, and I am not versed in construction, but I was around when those ships were cutting-edge, and I can work with a lot of the engine-components and help move the process along."
Meta's eyes settled back on Para as she questioned her.
"If I told new friends all my secrets, would I have managed to grow so old?"
Meta questioned her, one side of her mouth turning up in something that was not quite a smile.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
