"Truly tragic," She gave a heavy sigh, not wanting to speak on it any more deeply than she already had. It was becoming burdensome to think about the crushing weight of such a reality, that these were once gems. A shame that Homeworld didn't know more about corruption, its cures or causes. Then, the ground began to tremble, and Padpara halted when Em threw up her palm. She remained silent, her eyes darting around the canyon as her anxiety grew. As Em continued to speak in her hushed tone, the sapphire gave a quick nod to confirm her understanding of the situation. Upon the emerald's description of the creature, Padpara was too curious to stay in the shadow. She too peered out, and her eyes widened when she saw the lumbering beast.
In contrast to Em's giddiness, the sapphire was feeling dread well up in her gut. Never had she seen such an enormous corruption, such a monster would be able to crush them swiftly if they made a mistake. I'm always regretting it! the sapphire lamented to herself, why didn't I bring a few soldiers?! Still, knowing that Em was a capable fighter gave her a little piece of mind. She gave another curt nod,"I-I can try to slow it down, and perhaps, if it's not resistant to high temperature...I can deal some damage from a distance as well," She glanced back out at the creature,"Here's to hoping this one isn't so...sentient,"
With that, the sapphire began to generate a huge amount of her glowing plasma. In the heat of the day, the intense light from her wasn't so pronounced, but she still hoped she was hidden enough to keep it from glinting into the corruption's beady eyes. She threw it out as quickly as it could go, and the plasma slithered across the sandy floor of the canyon. She attempted to surround the creature without it noticing, but the farther her plasma went, the slower it formed, and the more viscous it became as it dried.
