Name: Fire Quartz
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 20-25
Gemstone: Ruby and Amethyst (Permafusion, both Marquise cut, I.e Football shaped)
Gemstone Location: Under her functional eyes, Ruby on her right, Amethyst on her left.
Faction: Crystal gems
Corrupted: No
Appearance:
Fire Quartz is a permafusion half a foot taller than Garnet. Her skin colour is a light maroon, a fair bit lighter than Garnet's. She has bubbly black hair falling to her back. She has four eyes, two larger ones, and two smaller blind eyes down and closer together, Fire Quartz usually keeps these closed, but will occasionally open them to signal that Amethyst is doing the talking. She has dark "veins" across her body. This effect was brought by Amethyst who's hole was quite uneven in rock composition, with veins of another mineral trailing throughout.
Personality:
Ruby:
Ruby is a somewhat naive character, doing often without thinking. Being lifelong friends with Amethyst, she has always relied on Amethyst to be the smart one. She much prefers to take orders rather than take charge, relying on Amethyst when fused to make decisions. She cares for Amethyst greatly and tries to be fused with her at all times to protect her. She will do this with the utmost of effort, refusing to give in.
Amethyst:
As even when she was quite skilful in her other senses, she would often get very hurt. She is known the smarter of the two, learning to analyze what she can from her environment without even seeing it. While often being calm and collected, she is often blunt in what she says, being painfully honest, not caring much for how she might harm one's feelings, as she believes that the truth should come first. When with Ruby, she feels responsible for her, wishing the horrors of the world would not fall on her naive friend.
Fire Quartz:
Taking more from Amethyst in perception, with working eyes in this form, Fire Quartz can analyze what is going on very quickly, rarely missing details. She calm and strong-willed, she won't back down. She can become very protective, even of things that don't necessarily require such action. She is a lot more playful when she's just by herself, as she does the task at hand first with little emotion when around others, preferring just to be in her own company.

Ability 1: Heat generation
Fire Quartz (And Ruby to a lesser extent) can heat her body to extreme temperatures, while this usually won't poof a gem outright (Possibly if Fire Quartz was holding the other gem down) it can damage and weaken another gem quite easily. While it is often used for combat, it may just activate when she is angry. When she uses it, a telltale sign is that very quickly, the "veins" along her body begin to glow, as the mineral they are formed from is much more conductive of heat.
At this point, with the stems lightly glowing, she would be hot to the touch, this would be somewhat painful to be in contact with but won't cause much damage. This stage can use almost indefinitely (An entire thread) however this has little to no combat use.
The second stage is where the stems would be glowing quite brightly, and you would also be able to feel the heat up to five meters away. This stage is very painful to touch and can cause minor burns to a gem. This stage would be the most used for combat and can be sustained for 5 posts before tiring her out. After being tired out, it takes about 3 posts to recharge, however, the second stage won't last as long until she's rested for 5 posts. At this stage, her weapons become very hot, adding more damage to her attacks.
In the third stage, her entire body glows red, including her weapons and the stems would be white hot. Touching her for even few seconds can cause 3rd-degree burns. With the heat generated, prolonged contact with the lower melting point metals will cause them to melt. This isn't used often as it is extremely exhausting to use, it can only last for 3 posts maximum, after which even the second stage wouldn't be usable for most of the thread. This would only be used in last resort.
Fire Quartz can't make fire, she can light tinder if she is hot enough, but she cants create fire. This ability can be used with Amethysts Spin Dash ability, to make herself into a fiery projectile.
Ability 2: Heat vision
While not normally part of Amethyst's skill set, while in fusion, Fire Quartz can see through her blind eyes to see thermal energy, tracking down targets with ease. This can be sustained for 4 posts, but it rarely needs to be. It takes 3 posts to recharge (to use again for 1-2 post, not full length) In this form of sight, Fire Quartz feels quite connected with herself and the world around her, as it allows her to see the life in things, in a way. However, she does not use that as an excuse to use it constantly, for important use only. While in use, Fire Quartz opens her blind eyes, revealing them to be glowing slightly, however with a glass see-through look. In this state, the stems across her body glow lightly as well.
History:
While in the rock, Amethyst suffered a defect due to rock composition in the hole she was created in. Inside the rock layers were veins of another mineral scatted through her area. With the problems, her gem was chipped at creation, making it completely unrepairable, causing complete blindness. Amethyst was barely functional as a soldier and received endless criticism of being "A waste of a gem"
Her only friend was a ruby of the same earth battalion. This Ruby was little different from the rest of her kind, except for clearly being more sympathetic. Their bond grew very strong over the time they spent together and became nearly inseparable. However, there had been always a little empty space between them that could only be closed one way.
Eventually, they fused.
It was in a secret, secluded space, away from prying eyes.
For the very first time, Amethyst could see. She could see everything.
Their time fused was short-lived, they couldn't stay fused forever, but they took any spare time they had to do so.
Sight had become Amethyst's drug, she couldn't get enough. She quickly became obsessed, wanting to see all she could. It was only a matter of time till she fell in love with reading.
With obsession, came recklessness.
Fire Quartz was eventually discovered and brought to the commanding Agate to be separated, with force if necessary.
The stress and panic brought a fiery blaze from the fusion, who escaped amongst the chaos. They were now trapped in the wilderness, hundreds of miles from any kind of civilization, and without a place to call home.
Fire Quartz journey for years alone, searching for little but rumour, of those who opposed Homeworld, those who might accept her.
