It was early in the morning when a passing fishing boat had come across a simple raft floating in the water, it was crudely assembled out of logs and appeared to have a girl on it. No, a gem. Understandably cautious, as the crew came around closer with the intent of helping the first mate called out. "Hey, are you alright there!?" To which it was soon replied. "I'-I'm fine. I'm fine, I can... Being kept together." She would tremble, braids of her hair literally keeping the craft together. Coming closer a brawny fellow would reach over to try and give her a hand inside.
An explosion of water would send wood skyrocketing into the air. A howl breaks through the morning darkness as the ship is soon torn asunder. Men abandoned ship, grabbing life preservers. Many of them hurt, in the end. About a half hour later, a ship would wreck not far from the docks. A hideous monster with countless teeth constantly changing shape. Rosebushes clung to every inch of the vessel. Keeping it afloat while a handful of onlookers scattered.

Beach City was full of strange little places the humans enjoyed visiting. Restaurants, clothing stores, car washes in particular, all very peculiar. Although he didn't see the appeal of most of them, Spinel enjoyed the occasional reminder of his time living among humans. Walking up to a weird building that sold mostly fried potato sticks, he smiled and asked for a small bag. He didn't particularly enjoy eating, but it became a way that Spinel could reflect on how far he'd come.
As he sat on a bench next to the street and began eating, Spinel felt the presence of a corrupt Gem. Smiling, he rose, expecting to greet someone he had met not long ago, when people started running to and from the docks. Curious, he stood, walking quickly to see what the commotion was. The wrecked ship not far from the coast caught many by surprise, with a strange monster standing on it, a swirling mass of fur conflicting its shape.
The corrupt appeared to be in the early/middle stages of the affliction, figuring out how to maintain its new form. Spinel ran down one of the docks and dived into the water, swimming closer to the ship before jumping out of the water and onto the deck. He'd never helped a corrupt learn how to deal with its abilities, so he was unsure of what to do. Smiling softly, he held his hand out to the beast and stood patiently. He thought corrupts, even as beasts, were worth more than humans and regular gems; he felt he could trust the one in front of him.
Petals would be dedicated to tearing up everything in the nearby area around her. Ripping planks asunder and sending fishing equipment everywhere as several parts over her body made themselves into small pairs of drills. The instant she saw one of her own kind she expected them to flash a weapon, and she reered back immediately to attack them. But would stop just short. A new rose bush would swell and puff up near the calm gems feet before bursting out in a thick blanket of pollen and disintegrating. It would coat the gem easily if he did not move away and gave her a sense of ease as she came closer.
There was something she felt about the gem that she just could not explain, a kinship born of more than the rocks giving them form. She would stalk around him in a circle, a twelve foot long body easily making his look feeble in comparison. Before it would settle down. The ship would lurch to one side and begin to sink. An arm shaped piece of hair would beckon him off of the craft. As she slithered herself away while holding his hand.
The beast was ripping the ship apart shortly before noticing Spinel standing there on the deck with it. It quickly pulled back, and instead of attacking as Spinel expected, it made a rosebush appear at his feet. Unsure of what to do, he slowly backed away from the bush as it sprayed a strange substance into the air. The creature still seemed to be agitated, pacing around him as he stood waiting for what it would do next.
To his surprise, though, it stopped being so cautious rather quickly and grabbed his hand with a bundle of its hair as it lead him off the boat. Unsure of where it would take him, he allowed the monster to lead him for the time being so long as it kept acting rather docile. After all, it did seem to still have the ability to control the corruption, and those like him were rare.
The creature that had used to be Pettles was highly cautious, increasing their pace face after leaving the boat. She would quickly make her way to the edge of the docks and to a tall wooden fence. She would squeeze and impressively press herself into a small opening in the wall. After her partner was across she would cast him onto her back and suddenly surge through civilization as fast as possible. Soon leaving beach city and into the more secluded wilderness around it. She would slow down, the trip having done a number on her stamina before she lets him off and rolls into a ball weakly. Looking at Spinel quietly for a moment before an oddly gem like groan would emanate from the pile of fur. Slowly, it would revert into a girl.
Riding through beach city on the back of a large corrupt monster was a somewhat embarrassing experience. The look of shock on the humans' faces as the beast zipped through the town didn't help the situation. Perhaps eventually they'd forget any of this happened. As they made their way into the area outside Beach City, the creature let Spinel off and curled itself into a ball before losing its corrupt form. As he stood next to it, it reverted into its humanoid form, a pink female gem.
She seemed to be exhausted, simply lying on the ground. Spinel looked around before sitting on one leg next to the pink gem, quietly thinking on the situation. After a short silence he looked to the gem. It wasn't every day that he saw others like him, and with this came the opportunity to meet his equals. "Are you alright?"
Pettles would look to the kindly gem with a sense of familiarity for a moment, before she would sharply blush. Sitting up she would attempt to say "Yeah!" But would spit out a clump of fur instead. The tall gem would look enchanted at him for a moment, before she mumbles. "I'm just tired... My name is um... Pettles." She says as she would cross her legs slowly. She was wearing a dress of the exact same color of the beast, weaved from her own head of hair. She felt the sensation of the corruption in the boy before her, but was too distracted to make sense of it at the time. It was all she could do to flash a reassuring smile and to let him take the lead.
The pink gem seemed to be confused, and when it tried to speak it first spit out a clump of fur. Spinel looked down at the lump on the ground, slightly disgusted, before the stranger spoke. "I'm just tired... My name is um... Pettles." Spinel looked back to her, thinking little of the names that Homeworld seemed to give its new gems. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Spinel."
"You're new here, aren't you?" He asked, sitting himself up against a tree. "It's not common to find someone around here that can do what you did back at the docks." Spinel looked to the pink gem inquisitively, interested in what she would say. It wasn't often that he would find other corrupted gems, and he wanted to take full advantage of the situation.
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
