It was about a week after the construction of the Broken Gems' castle. The green gem dragged his injector across the floor of his castle. He had stolen in from the kindergarten, but stealing would have been a strong word. It was broken down and not often used to say the least. Sulfur was only making use of what was left behind. He sat the injector in the middle of a room that had dirt walls. He had built this room with the intention of growing gems. The room was lit by eerie purple blacklights from above. As he set the injector up he noticed that it needed some new parts. Fortunately they were all items that he owned. After a few hours of work he had managed to repair the structure.
He looked at the plasma inside of the injector, with a sigh he placed his shoulder on the injector. As the injector scanned his gem a sharp pain shot through his body. Sulfur grunted but endured the pain. Once the pain faded he examined a blob of plasma that had separated from the rest. It was shaping like his own gem. Content that he was successful, Sulfur left the room as the injector started to work.
About two months later Sulfur returned. It was time for the gem to emerge, he hoped. On the wall in which he had planted the gemstone the needed minerals and depth were included. Sulfur had given this gem an excellent location, to make sure that it wasn't defective. He wanted a gem he could identify with. Sulfur stepped back and folded his arms. He hoped that it wouldn't stay in the ground too long, all of his work depended on these few seconds.
Suddenly a yellow Sulfur gem popped up in front of Sulfur's feet. His experiment worked! Light began to surround the gem as it took shape. Sulfur looked at her new creator. She smiled warmly at him.
"I'm Sulfur. You must be my father."
She extended a hand to him then looked around the area.
"Where... Am I?"
Something seemed odd about this place. It didn't feel like somewhere gem should be created. But her father lived here so she would too. She got so excited that she triggered an accelerated decoy. She was standing behind Sulfur as the decoy remained motionless.
"Oops. Sorry. Didn't know I could be that fast. Hmmm... What else can I do?"
She concentrated and a Gladius appeared, floating in front of her.
Sulfur was ready, his nonexistant heart pounding. It emerged, it was yellow. How!? He had tried so hard to make sure that it wasn't defective! He tried to notice any mistakes he had made. Sure the hole wasn't perfect, but it was good enough to not be defective! He repaid her warm smile with a disappointed frown. He looked at her hand and didn't move.
He turned around to face her behind him. She was not like him at all. She was bubbly and seemed to be more like Flurry than any gem he had met. Sure she could use her blades without being tortured, but she didn't have the spirit he wanted. He had to get rid of it, he didn't want to be associated with it. However, as he considered destroying her, he felt a sense of compassion for the gem. For one, he had created her and felt a sort of pride in his creation, but also he felt somehow that he was not alone any longer. He gave her a faint smile.
"I am your creator not your father, don't humiliate yourself... you are a Sulfur, like me." Sulfur said. "What should you be called... we can't have the same name... I suppose Sulfur Jr. or perhaps Sulfur II(The second). What do you wish to be called?"
"That is kinda cool. Now I can be in 2 places at once! Hey Dad watch this!"
The Gladius began to spar with a second Gladius. They blocked and thrusted at each other as if 2 imaginary people were dueling. After awhile, the left blade thrusted and the right blade hit the ground as if the opponent died. They both vanished and she laughed playfully. "
Isn't that cool Dad! Maybe I can be just like you! Will you teach me?! I'm so excited!"
She bounced around with playful energy and then calmed herself down. She looked up at her father with innocent eyes.
"You cannot be like me... I was broken and I died inside. I lose everything and everyone I cared about, and through my death I was reborn. I despise this world and it despises me... you do not want to be like me..." He said in an ominous tone. "If you want to make me proud you will first, call me Sir, not 'Dad'. I will teach you how to do things that I do. Examples include preparing food and becoming well versed in literature. There is more to life than fighting, and fighting is death itself. Suffering as I did will not make me proud. It may cause you to be a brutal fighter like I am, but you will only reach this state once you are completely crushed. Perhaps if I am to perish and leave you alone you may learn to be like me... but as long as something exists in this world that brings you please you will never... be like me."
"What do you think about this name... Saki. It is of Asian origin, it is a human name, but I needed something to call you." Sulfur said. "Perhaps your training could begin with a lesson on making coffee..."
"Uh...good..." Sulfur said, forcing a smile again. She would always call him dad... he simply hoped that she wouldn't do this in public. It could cause some confusion. Sulfur gasped as she hugged him. He made an attempt to remain calm, this was another Sulfur, he had to get along with them, or remain alone in the universe. He did still twitch a bit. "...Right...but I don't plan on using you as bait for my enemies. If any situation arises in which either of us are threatened, we will fight alongside each other."
This was meant to be an emotional speech, but it came out sounding almost like an insult. At her next question he sighed and gently removed her arms from his body. He ran his fingers along the bridge of his nose.
"We don't... I produced you a few minutes ago. All of the others of our kind have been destroyed and harvested." He said with a sigh. "In other words... we are all that is left."
As Sulfur finished speaking he raised an eyebrow. This... little yellow ball of energy seemed to be very enthusiastic. At this point most of the gems he would have talked to in this fashion would have been irritated, but it seemed almost as if she was enjoying their conversation. At least he wouldn't have to choose his words carefully.
"...I appreciate your concern, but your existence confirms that I am no longer alone." Sulfur said. "Please...don't do anything reckless..."
Sulfur lead her to his elevator.
"Enter if you would... the kitchen is not on this floor. I look forward to versing you in the art of life... " Sulfur said in a monotone voice. "If you see any... well, beings in the castle... be careful and try to stay calm around them... they might be alarmed."
Saki giggled happily and entered the elevator. As the music played, she tapped her foot to it. She looked at Sulfur with an affectionate smile.
"Sure thing Dad! I'm totally calm!"
Suddenly the doors opened and she saw a short human in glasses. She wasn't sure what the girl was doing. Her first human! She was so excited that she triggered a decoy and appeared in front of the human faster than one could blink their eyes.
"Hi there! Oh wow my first human! My name's Saki what's yours?"
She extended a hand to her and giggled.
"So how do you know Dad? Is he like your friend? That's so cool! I've never been friends with a human before! Then again I was just born like 20 minutes ago. But nevermind that."
She was so excited to meet this human. She hoped there were more.
Sulfur looked over at her with a bland look but then continued facing the elevator door. He sighed. Perhaps there was hope for her, if not, there was some consolation, he was not alone. The elevator stopped, and of course it had to be peridot. Most people would have attempted to stop this from happening, but he wasn't the most affectionate master to his humans, so he decided that it wasn't worth the effort.
Peridot gasped as the energetic yellow gem appeared in front of her out of thin air. She gasped and fell onto her back, startled. She sat up and looked at the gem. Her mind was swimming with the spontaneous gem's words.
"Uh... M-My name is Peridot...pleasure ta' meetcha... " She mumbled nervously, standing up. She wobbled a bit as she stood, having a poor sense of balance. She looked at Sulfur with a distressed expression.
"That is my...um... creation. She will now take my wing was residence." Sulfur said suavely.
She was about to say something when suddenly something caught her eye. She zipped over to a painting. She saw someone she didn't recognize. He was short, appeared to be a lot younger than Sulfur. He had blue skin, white hair and some kind of hooded outfit. She thought he seemed like a friendly guy until she looked into the painting's eyes. Seeing them sent a chill up her spine.
"Hey Dad,... Who's this?"
She pointed at the painting.
"He seems.... Horrifying. Like he looks friendly but those eyes... Like he's thinking about something horrible and enjoying it. Do you know this guy?"
She continued to stare at the painting. Who could this be? And why would Sulfur have his portrait?
Peridot looked very unsure of how to react to Saki, and was about to say something to her, when she zipped toward the paintings. The painting was of course of Howlite. Sulfur folded his arms as he looked at the painting. He took a moment to reflect on it, as he realized that he didn't actually know how he felt about Howlite. Howlite was untrustworthy, he was unloyal, and he was friends with all of Sulfur's enemies. He was a complete liability, yet Sulfur kept him around. Why was the only friend he had...Howlite?
"That is Howlite, one of my subordinates.. friends? Whatever you call them." Sulfur said with a gesture. He smirked a bit. "He's quite the opposite of what you think. He does some strange things sometimes, but that is only a fault in his mind. Howlite is actually quite soft when you really get to know him. He decided to become friends with one of our enemies because he was guilty about betraying them. He acts tough, but in the first instant of confrontation the facade crumbles. If you see him, I still recommend you keep your distance. You don't want to end up like him."
Saki suddenly developed a serious expression. Almost as if with lethal intent.
"This gem... Did he hurt you? If he did I will destroy him!"
And she meant it too. She had to protect her father. And if this gem hurt him, he could do it again. If he hurt Sulfur in any way... That Howlite guy was dead. She'd drive her Gladius straight through his gem if he hurt Sulfur! She was normally non violent but NOBODY messed with her father. That was a death sentence. She then returned to her happy go lucky attitude.
"But enough about that! Let's make coffee!"
She started zipping around the room with excitement! She could learn from her Dad! After a while she returned to his side.
"He didn't and if he did you wouldn't..." Sulfur said, rubbing his cheek with a bored expression. "He's too charismatic... if you interacted with him you would grow attached to him like everyone else... and you would end up like him, unloyal and insane... "
Sulfur nodded when she suggested going back to the task at hand. At least she focused on what was important. He walked to a kitchen, not the kitchen because there were several in his wing of the castle. He pulled out an old fashioned coffee maker, which was not electronic, and a bag of coffee grounds. The coffee maker was somewhat like a net that he poured the coffee grounds into. He motioned for Saki to observe as he continued. Sulfur plucked a cup from a shelf and moved the net over the cup. He placed the net there and fetched the teapot from the stove. He poured the hot water through the net and into the cup. He moved his arm in little circles, carefully producing the coffee. Steam rose and the smell of coffee was in the air. Once he was done he took a sip of the drink he made. He seemed satisfied. Not long after he nudged a second glass to Saki. "Now, follow my movements."

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
