The Eudialyte twin fusion was still quite new to the strange planet, the event of their arrival happening mere weeks before. Upon the crashing of the ruby ship carrying them, the two immediately fused for self protection, and stayed like this to the best of their ability for the majority of time. Only really splitting up when they fell apart, be it from falling, or a simple internal conflict. However, the two quickly found peace exploring the honestly quite beautiful land. Certain places had really seemed to pick the fancy of the fusion, so they quickly began hanging around certain areas. The fusion had begun to understand why the entire planet went dark and the reasoning for talk of a rebellion. Though now that the fusion had been unaccounted for a few weeks, they definitely were being hunted by SOME homeworld gems. They knew quite well they would be split up if found, so going back to homeworld was unfortunately no longer an option for them. Nor was joining the rebels. Sure, this meant they didn't have any allies on this strange world. However, despite this the two found peace in a certain area of the strange planet. A series of floating islands. The view stretched for miles, this being greatly appreciated by the twin fusion. They found themselves staring out into the wide beyond, completely unaware to their surroundings. In fact, thats where they were currently. Sure, anyone could approach from behind and simply kick them off the small land mass, but they weren't afraid!
Melody had been wandering around the Sky Temple, taking time to explore for herself. The Chrysocolla had been confined to the city for awhile now and wanted to branch out, see who all was out there
"Hm...who's this now?"
She looked up when she caught sight of Eudialyte looking out on one of the islands. Chrysocolla hadn't heard anyone else here but, then again this WAS a big place. She caught sight of one of the rock staircases that was carved into an island as she started climbing her way up. After a few minutes she found herself on the island across from Eudialyte, behind the zoned out fusion.
"Um...hello? Mind I ask why you're here?"
The gem didn't look harmful, but Melody kept a hand on her weapon, just in case
It took a moment for the fusion to snap out of their seemingly endless trance. Once the voice was heard and recognized, they were quick to jump up, quickly summoning the surprisingly large hammer the fusion sported. It was about seven feet, so it essentially towered over them.
Despite this, the fusion seemed more scared than anything, not taking in account what the intentions of the new gem were. All four of her hands were on the weapon, they quickly raised it above their heads. They didn't seem like they were going to throw it. And the other gem was definitely too far for them to smash with it.
"Why do I have to explain myself to you?
Why are you sneaking up on gems like this!" They say, all four eyes focused on the fellow fusion.
"Right, how do I know your not one of those homeworld gems come to take me back?"
Yells the fusion. It was clear they had run-ins with the aforementioned homeworld gems. They listened to the gem speak, their top set of eyes never leaving the target while the bottom pair begin to dart about, observing the area for ways to escape the situation
"Introduce myself?" She pauses, listening to the gem speak before replying. "Eudialyte, now why should I trust you."
She says, glaring at the fellow fusion for a moment. She lowers her hammer slightly upon hearing the third piece of dialogue.
"You've met with friendly gems? Here? on earth?" She asks. "Your the first who didn't immediately attack me."
She finishes, letting go of the hammer so it fizzles out of existence.
"Melody, right?" She asks, sitting down on the ground. "Stay on your island, i'll stay on mine."
In all honestly the fusion hadn't even seen any truly friendly gems at this point, so their hostility was justified, even if it was a little biased against other gems in general. The fusion hoped they made the fellow fusion a little more comfortable without the presence of their hammer.
To say the attempts at being peaceful didn't work, was false. They recognized this, sure they seemed a little tense still, though they had visibly relaxed.
"Training? My weapon is simple, training honestly isn't needed." They say, pausing. "Can I not just be staring out at the beautiful sky? Enjoying the view?" They say, chuckling.
They lets the fusion talk, nodding with a bit of interest. "Go ahead. I'd like to know what I am possibly up against." They chuckle, eager to see what the fellow fusion was capable of. For the worst case scenario of an eventual fight, of course.
"Maybe I can show you how my weapon operates afterwards, if you'd like."
"Nothing wrong with looking out at the view. Heck, I could use that myself." Melody laughed softly and smiled, sighing as she figured out what to do.
"Well alright then. I suppose I could show you a FEW things."
Chrysocolla hummed to herself as she brought her guitar axe out from its sheath. It had strings on it much like an Earth guitar but the bottom of it was modified to be shaped much like a traditional battle axe. She started messing with it for a minute, before strumming a harder rock tune (pun intended) that, along with her energy increasing, her form shifted a little towards a more masculine appearance, almost like one of the punk rock bands she had found on Earth
"It is quite calming. I haven't had a chance to do very much exploring here, on earth. But of what little I have seen, this place is definitely the most beautiful."
The fusion then waited, awing slightly when the guitar was summoned. They were slightly astonished by the weapon alone, barely recognizing the human instrument it was based off. Though to say they were blown away would be an understatement, the six-foot fusion jumped up as the fellow gem's form changes. They didn't know that was possible!
The fusion smirked a little, placing both of her left hands on her gemstones, then snapping their arms out to the left, the hammer summoning as they did so. She stepped back, it was obvious they didn't have any intentions of hitting melody herself, instead raising the hammer and striking the ground with the soft-spot on the front of the hammer. Upon doing so, an earsplitting high-pitch sound would erupt, causing melody's weapon to destabilize, and fade from her hands. They eventually pulled the hammer off the ground, the sound stopping as the button slowly reset. Melody would find herself unable to re-summon the weapon for a few moments afterwards.
"I was created to control gem riots, much like the rebellion starting here, on earth. I can't do much damage to a gem themselves, but I can disarm them for others. However.." they say pausing, showing off the pointed edge on the back side of the hammer's head. "I can still pack a punch, if needed." They say, smirking to themselves. "Cool, right?!"
Melody looked down in surprise when her weapon faded away, she went back to her normal form as she looked over at Eudialyte, not quite sure how to react
"Yeah that's..that's cool....you're not going to ACTUALLY hurt me are you?"
Now the Chrysocolla was the one who was nervous, the fact that her weapon could be so easily taken away by Eudialyte was an..unexpected factor
"I must admit, though, I didn't realize that gems such as you were created! Makes sense though..If I may ask, you sound like you don't want to go back to Homeworld. Why's that? I doubt they'd want to destroy you or anything like that. I haven't been back in forever myself."
The fusion would soon de-summon their weapon, as it was no longer needed.
"Nah, you've shown me no reason to do so, especially because you had your weapon AND an opportunity to hurt me aswell. If I attacked you out of nowhere that'd just be plain mean."
They say, listening to the fellow gem speak about their opinion on homeworld and the question as to why they didn't want to return.
"There's a pretty damn compelling reason. Hold on." They say, closing their eyes and taking a deep breath before un-fusing, left with the two, much smaller eudialytes. They stood at about four feet. The two sets of eyes from the fusion corresponding to the two un-fused counterparts, one of which having regular, pink eyes while the others' is a strange, milky white. The Eudialyte with the regular eyes speaks up.
"Long story short, shes defective." The small gem spoke, holding on to her partner. "Despite us being the same gem, its why our fusion looks different. When we aren't fused, she cant speak, nor see. So I do my best to stick with her like that. We've gotten used to it, only un-fusing on special occasions." She says, smiling a tad.
Chrysocolla watched curiously as Eudialye defused. She walked closer to the two of them, taking note of how the defective one walked.
"I see...well, I can tell you two get along with each other just fine from the looks of it. How long have you been a fusion?"
Melody sat down on her island's edge, staying close to the two Eudialytes. She figured it would be reasonable for her to be at this distance yett at the same time being close enough to where she could be more friendly with the two Eudialytes. It was curious, she hadn't seen a fusion with a defective gem before and yet that would indeed explain the way that the Eudialyte fusion looked
The pair approached the edge of their own edge of the island, Dia seemingly guiding and supporting Lyte, ensuring her defective counterpart didn't fall, nor trip up.
"We get along very well." Dia says, the other gem even smirking a little. "We first fused not long after originally emerging. The diamonds ordered our creation due to the fear of a rebellion arising, they made ten. Us, and eight others. When Lyte emerged next to me, I knew something was off. The diamonds wanted to shatter her, but I begged for them to show mercy, that i'd watch after her, telling them I'd use her to make myself stronger by fusing when needed." She says, obviously disgusted with the last part of her words.
"After spending so much time together, we became less friends, and more.." She pauses, the red gem blushing slightly. "Partners." She then continues. "We both decided we no longer wanted to serve under homeworld's tyranny, the spark of the rebellion and the blackout gave us the perfect opportunity to slip out, unnoticed. We learned to stay fused for our own protection of one-another." She says, the two stepping away from the edge. They then refuse, by taking a hold of each-others hands, pulling apart, then rejoining in a rather forceful hug. A light envelops the two and the fusion returns, sighing. "Much better."
The pair's situation wasn't too rare. Lyte essentially owed her life to her fellow Eudialyte, so that combined with Dia's promise of caring for her fellow, defective gem. Safe to say they quickly became friends, said relationship advanced over time. Being fused so often, for so long gives one an insight into another's mind. They weren't able to hide their feelings for one another, so their relationship advanced. Enough backstory, for now at least.
"Yeah, spending all of your time with someone you care about does give you quite the connection." Says the fusion, smiling to themselves.
"Its a waste of resources, when we still aligned with them, we saw it as a huge waste. That and it wasn't fair to the gems who emerged that way. It was the fault of the kindergartner, not the gem."
"That being said, who do you align with? We have stayed out of the combat, not aligning with the rebels, or homeworld." They say, curious. "Feel free to come over to my island, I can trust you now."
Melody: as usual, just waiting for posts
