Name: Sodalite
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 7
Actual Age: 102
Gemstone: Sodalite
Gemstone Location: Back of left hand
Faction: Homeworld
Corrupted: No
Height: 3"11
Appearance:
Personality: Sodalite appears to think very highly of herself. She acts as if she is the best engineer around, and could easily be considered over confident. She makes sure to tell others how great she is at everything and will constantly pat herself on the back. However, in all honesty, Soda is about as insecure as it gets. She repeatedly tells everyone, including herself, that she's great because she's afraid that she isn't. Of her many insecurities, the greatest is definitely her height. Any time anybody mentions how short she is, she'll immediately become upset. She tries to act strong and professional, but she is awful at hiding her emotions which occasionally ruins her act. She gets surprised easily, she gets frightened easily, shes gullible, and gets upset easily. Despite all this, she still tries to hide it, no matter how obvious it is. She tries to be manipulative at times, but she isn't actually good at it. It's actually safe to say that she's more gullible than she is manipulative. She's incredibly stubborn, to the point where she won't accept help from anyone no matter how desperate she gets. When she can't do something, she will keep trying over and over, so I suppose one could say she has perseverance. But she also gets pretty frustrated, leading to a very pitiful scene.
She's very curious regarding anything chemistry related. She always wants to know the chemical composition of everything around her, and is willing to experiment to find out. Sometimes she can take her experimenting too far, but if anyone tries to get in between her and an experiment, then they're going to feel the full wrath of Sodalite. Although, depending on what technology she can get her hands on, the full wrath of Sodalite can be a tad underwhelming at times. Soda is a true Homeworld gem, believing that the diamonds are as perfect as it gets, as well as every other belief that the ideal Homeworld gem would have. She absolutely hates the crystal gems and everything about them. She doesn't know why they are rebelling, and won't ever attempt to hear a crystal gem out about the topic, at least not by choice.

Weapon:
Soda hasn't learned how to summon her weapon yet, or even that she can summon a weapon, but when she does learn, it will be a blue parasol with a pointed end. The parasol can be opened to act as a very poor shield or to float down from a high place, or it can be closed and used similarly to a spear.
For now, Sodalite will have a single small limb enhancer for her left hand. Unlike Peridot's from the show, Sodalite's limb enhancer will only cover her hand to a little past her wrist. It's smaller than what Peridot used, and is mostly for covering the gem on her hand when she's messing with chemicals, using the fingers to mix solutions together, and taking notes on all of her findings. It also has different functions than Peridot's. Each of the fingers can create a small flame that can be adjusted similarly to how a bunsen burner in a chemistry lab works. They could also function as thermometers, and can form a screen for her to write on, the same way Peridot's could. In addition, the hand can create a small blue ball of energy and fire it out to cause a small explosion (Similarly to how Peridot could, except this one would cause about half the size of explosion due to being a scaled down version). The cannon function has a cooldown of 4 of her own posts. Sometime before Soda discovers her weapon, this limb enhancer will be destroyed, it's mostly there to balance her out until then.
Ability 1 Flash Freeze: Soda freezes the liquid around her in up to a radius of 30 feet. All the liquid will solidify instantly, including the moisture in the air which will become a thin layer of frost covering everything in the area. Any fire in the area will be put out, and any snow will become harder and develop a harder icier surface. The freeze will have no actual effect on a gem, so long as they aren't standing in a pool of water or something. The ability has a cool down period of 3 of her own posts.
Ability 2 Laser Beam: (Soda doesn't know about this ability yet, and will learn it sometime after summoning her parasol for the first time.) Soda can fire a laser from the pointed end of her parasol. The laser is very similar to the one Pearl can fire from her spear in the show, however it is a much longer beam, and it can't be used quite as often. The beam lasts for about 3 seconds, and can be used either to attack someone or something, or to propel herself backwards. If the parasol is open, then there will be enough resistance to keep her from flying backwards. However, if she fires the laser while her parasol is closed, it will send her backwards about 35 feet. She can point it at the ground and shoot herself up into the air as well. The laser has a cool down of three of her own posts.

History: Sodalites are typically made to be all sorts of chemical engineers. They create fuel, research the chemical makeup of planets, and design materials to be used on planets depending on that chemical makeup. Soda popped out of the ground like any Sodalite, and spent the first hundred years of her life working in a team of Sodalites, where she learned a ton about chemistry by creating and testing various new materials to be used for specific colonies. This changed very suddenly, when Soda was pulled from her team to perform an important mission. Soda didn't even wait for details before accepting the task, eagerly going along with whatever she was told. It was a field mission, which only added to Soda's excitement. In just a few days, all her dreams seemed to come true, she was going to be out in the field doing experiments on her own on a potentially unexplored planet.
The mission started becoming confusing when Sodalite was introduced to the planet, Earth. It wasn't a new planet, in fact, it was already partially colonized. Sodalites usually did the research before they colonized the planet, not after. It only got worse when Soda learned about the rebellion. Supposedly, there were gems on the planet who decided to go rogue for no good reason, and there was so many of them that the entire project came to a halt. This mission was going to be different than what a sodalite normally did. They didn't want to know more about the planet's chemical composition for the sake of building on it, they were preparing for a war. Soda was to take a quartz soldier with her, and research the chemical make up of the air, the water, and everything she could find in a bunch of specific locations. Soda was definitely less than comfortable about her mission after she'd been thoroughly debriefed about the situation, but it wasn't like she could quit, so she went along with everything.
Eventually the day came, Soda was given a ship and a soldier, and sent down to the Earth. She tried not to show it, but she was terrified. She wasn't sure what to expect, but after a couple days, it seemed like everything was going to be fine. Nobody attacked them, there was no sign of crazy traitorous gems, and everything was going nicely. She was taking samples of water, rock, and anything else she got her little hands on, and bringing them back to the ship to experiment on them through the night. She was making great progress and finding all sorts of amazing discoveries on a daily basis, the Earth truly was an incredible specimen. It wasn't until she moved to the second location that things started going downhill. On the first day, the quartz soldier went missing. Soda was terrified of what could've happened to her, and hid in the ship for the entire day. The soldier came back just before dark, which was a huge relief, but Soda still lost her temper with her. It didn't just happen once either, the soldier kept disappearing, to the point where Soda decided to keep a very close eye on her to figure out where she was going. Eventually, Soda caught an unknown gem popping out of a tree next to the quartz. She watched from the corner of her eye as they talked for a second and started heading off, but she turned around and demanded an explanation before they could.
The quartz explained that this mystery gem was a crystal gem, and that both of them should join the crystal gems to protect the planet. But it was no use, Soda didn't want to hear it. She angrily yelled that she'd report her for this, then took the ship and flew off, leaving the soldier behind. Soda never actually went to get a new soldier, she didn't want another one to defect like the last one. Instead, she just carried on without anyone. She never needed any help anyway, she could do the mission alone. After that, she developed a pretty great hatred for crystal gems, ready to blast one with her ship the next time she saw one.
