The fusion began muttering hings under her breath, only provoking her anxiety attack further. Soon, the electricity shooting from the fusions body got to the point of which it would be deadly for a human. Finally her mumbling became more understandable. "I can't go back." She repeated the same thing over and over as she paced around in circles, she finally feel to her knees, tears in her eyes, one or both of the two gem that bade up the fusion had experienced something on homeworld that a gem should not have experienced, rebel or not. "I can't, WE can't go back." She repeated. She tried calming herself, but to no avail, only further provoking the storm of sparks around her. "I won't go BACK!" She yelled and slammed her fists on the ground, the electrical buildup, had caused her to be like a bomb, sending the electricity in all directions in high amounts of voltage.
The sapphire's eyes widened as the fusion became ever more erratic-- perhaps provocation wasn't the best tactic in this situation, but before she could have a chance to rethink her strategy, an explosive burst of energy rippled across the ground and spiraled through the air, striking her plasma construct and blasting into the ether around them. Electricity coiled around the pillars created by the sapphire's construct, but much of it flung off into all directions, nearly invisible in the dry desert air.
Stray electricity slammed through Amethyst as she tried to duck, her hair stood on end as she very nearly escaped poof-by-electrocution. Instead she cringed as her entire body was numbed by the energy coursing freely through the air between Padpara's construct and the fusion. She could no longer feel her hands, her sword slipped from her grip and fell to the ground. She peered down at it, her eyes widened; she supposed it could now definitely be said that she wasn't doing it right. 6UE wanted to say something about her condition, but her hands were locked up, and her tongue was as numb as the rest of her was-- she couldn't signal or speak coherently,"Uuuhmm," She managed, her attention darted between the fusion and the sapphire,"Yo okeh yor clariteh?!"
Padparadscha didn't hear her guard, or rather, didn't process the words as she grit her teeth, thinking of a way to deal with this situation. Her own body had been numbed by the introduction of so many electrons into her system-- for a moment she was stunned, unable to react as the fusion underwent her breakdown. The growth of her plasma construct had been stymied as well, going haywire and curling out of her control until the system could be stabilized.
"Opalite, Blue Gold--" She called over to them,"Enough is enough! You must go back, and face the consequences of your actions,"
The fusion sat still, he eyes wide with fear. She looked around to evaluate the situation. She Saw this as an opportunity. She stood up shakily and straightened herself out. She looked directly at the sapphire. "We will not go back, and if you think that you and your guard can take us on in your state, then you're very, VERY wrong!" She said, angrily as she summoned a sword and a staff, brought them together and formed another scythe. She got into an offensive position facing the amethyst. "Now, I will give you both on chance to turn around and leave, because I promise, I will NEVER go back, and not you, or anyone else can change that fact." She growled the words with rage, Bluegold showing in the fusion's personality.
The sapphire's eyes darted over to her comrade, just as the amethyst's sword dissipated into nothingness. Her brows floated upward and she sneered; the fusion was right. 6UE continued to be stunned, all of her muscles locked up by the attack. She grimaced as she tried to push herself into action, but every attempt to move burned like nothing she'd ever felt. The soldiers eyes shut tight for a moment, before she opened them again, and glared at the fusion who stared her down. Her eyes followed the edge of the scythe, and she braced herself for whatever would come next.
"So be it," Padparadscha scoffed,"I had hopes for the two of you-- for your honor," After all, the two of these gems were high-ranking members of the blue court. How unsightly it was for them to run amok on Earth, to fuse, it was just baffling why they would throw away their dignity to join a cause fated to fail. It was difficult, but she managed to wrangle her plasma back into her control. But now, she'd lost a considerable amount of energy just trying to hold her construct together, and the initial push it had taken to create the cage was now all but dissipated. It would take some time for her to build up the necessary energy to take on finishing such a task. The sapphire sneered with frustration; she was tired of plans falling through.
But, instead of flying off the handle as she often allowed herself to, she straightened out and tried to think of a more diplomatic solution. Not only that, but she found herself more curious now. In her last meeting with these gems, she had learned almost nothing about them.
"Your crime is defection, treason," She reiterated, her tone more modulated now as she clasped her hands behind her back."For what would you throw away everything? Opalite, a gem who Blue Diamond depended on for advisory. Blue Goldstone, a gem prized for her combat ability. Your honorable positions are now scattered, for what?" She'd asked that of every rebel she'd met, and still felt she was so far from understanding why they would make such a decision.
"I will comply with that request..." She said and stood straight. "We threw it away for each other. Now, answer me this... have you ever felt love? Or even compassion?" The fusion asked. She then lunged forward and in one quick motion, grabbed the amethyst, pinned her down, and pressed the scythe against her neck. "How would you feel if I poofed then shattered your guard? Or is that all she is?" She asked with an enraged look in her eye. She looked the sapphire in the eye, searching for any emotion other than fear or anger. "What happens to your guard, depends on your answer, then we can walk away from this. If she does, depends on you."
Padparadscha was so stunned with the fusion's honesty, she balked in the moments that it took for the large fusion gem to tackle Amethyst. Her attention whirled as her eyes widened and she put together what the moment had quickly developed into a hostage situation. 6UE grimaced as her back smacked into the ground, and continued to try to gain control over herself again. But, even if she hadn't been shocked, now she was firmly under the control of the fusion. This wasn't ideal, but Amethyst tried to think of a silver lining to this situation. She peered toward the sapphire, a bit interested in what she would say.
"Love?" She sputtered,"Compassion?" Her fists clenched as her agape expression compressed, her anger flaring up. She had heard something similar, once, a rebel gem asked her if she knew of those things, if she could understand. Part of what frustrated her so much was that lack of understanding. What sort of love were these gems talking about? Her lips pressed together as she glared at the fusion, her eyes flicked toward Amethyst.
This guard had lined the walls of the Pink Court on numerous occasions; she was easy to spot because of her minor defects-- slightly shorter than the average amethyst, a deeper range of color. 6UE was not the perfect quartz, she was far from it-- she was young and brazen to boot. However, Padparadscha had chosen this gem for her specific knowledge, her specific experience with the justice department. Amethyst wasn't ideal, but she tried, and most of the time she got the job done without too much issue. "She's my body guard. Of course I'd be distraught, I'd be livid-- I'd do anything I could to prevent that from happening. Of course I have compassion for my comrade," The sapphire stated in her clear, modulated timbre, but her nails continued to dig into her palms as her ire was piqued. It stung her to think that this gem might shatter Amethyst, after what she had done to prevent Blue Goldstone from shattering those weeks ago,"--and I had the compassion to aid you, if you remember," Her tone became harsher, she gestured out toward the quarantine zone below,"Compassion is what drives my work. For my Diamond, her Earth, for my comrades, for the gems trapped here who need help," She stopped, realizing that she was letting her tongue get away from her.
"Compassion for us? If it weren't for your pearl, breaking formation, we could have escaped, without any trouble. You only kept us around because of how strong we were..." The fusion pressed harder on the amethyst's neck through her rage. She looked down at the guard and pulled her blade away. She grabbed the soldier by the wrist and helped her to her feet. The fusion turned away and began walking. She stopped. "I wanted to make a deal, so here's a deal for you... Once you can show us that you truly love someone, the way that we love each other. Then we'll go back and face a trial, but you must first prove to us that you know the meaning of love." She said and continued walking. After a few seconds their shape turned into the shape of Bluegold and Opalite, holding each others hands as their forms seem to get smaller in the distance.
