All was peaceful on the landmass known as Mask Island. A tall, slender figure emerged from the cave in which she had long resided in, letting the warm sunlight hit her pale skin. Her pale green gemstone shimmered as the servant stepped on the soft, but wild grass outside of the hollow, and with sorrowful eyes, she picked up her pace, intending to take a simple stroll around the island today. Her translucent jacket trailed behind her as she pulled up a log of recent observations on the island, which were dated from a few days ago to months ago, being incredibly spaced out. Most days, she was in her current residence, mourning the death of her former owner. Often would she have hallucinations of the emerald appearing right in front of her, with sometimes even her voice echoing in the pearl's head.
Green Pearl's most recent report was on a particular flower that, as far as she knew, only grew on this island. She scrolled through the holographic text she had created, reading on the flower. As she got to the beach, in which waves crashed on its shore, the green gem decided to find the light indigo flower once again, and redirected her walk to the rainforest.
An echoed voice: "Log Land 14" resounds from the ocean, an tall image with spikes on the shoulders comes from the ocean apparently frustrated, searching for something. She's been looking on the flowers for some time, then looking on the trees, after finding an certain tree, the spikes on the shoulders starts piercing it. But her intentions still don't seem clear enough, beacause she was reluctantly conforting the tree. Then she just layed down hoping to something to happen. After a while, nothing happens, she with no surprise on her face, starts to leave the island, but hear something coming from the island, then, it's curiosity calls to stay a little more. Hoping it's not waste of time, she come back to the depths of the forest.
Green Pearl stopped. She thought she had heard a strange sound coming from the beach she just left. Almost like... a voice. From who? She was not sure. Through the peeks of sky between the trees, the pearl thought she saw a figure standing on the beach. With caution, the gem neared closer to the figure. Narrowing her single eye, she took note of the spikes protruding from the figure's shoulders. Lowering her head for ease of writing, she began to note observations of the humanoid that had mysteriously appeared on the island she resided on. It was better to observe the specimen from a distance, as gem interference could mess with her results. It was something she learned from her former owner, Emerald, on their journeys throughout the galaxy.
Green skin, black spikes, white clothing, she wrote. Appears to be feminine. Looking up at the creature once more, something caught her eye. A triangular-shaped gemstone, resting on the figure's chest. The pale green pearl let out a small gasp. Another gem!
Regarding this Gem's research situation about something in this island, she was confused about something she heard. "It was coming from the other's side of the island, on the ocean" , she said calmly, waiting for the spikes do something special, but she got tired of waiting, then she started to walk where she heard the sound, an empty sound, like an underwater breath. In the mid of the way she found some dead flowers in a cave, then she pierced them with her spikes, and with anger and concentration, one of the flowers became much better. After this she goes to the top of the cave's surface to reallocate its position, when she sees another Gem, located on the eye, but don't get impressed by that either, just wants to obtain more information, just keep the pace to the ocean.
The holographic log emitting from her gemstone disappeared in shock, and with that, the strange gem had also disappeared. This confused the pearl. Where could have she gone? Looking around, she was determined to find where the green being had gone. Luckily, the gem had made her presence very clear, and the pearl quickly found who she was looking for. Focusing her green eye on the gem, she took better note of her appearance. In her bleak black-and-white clothes, she could find no insignia on the gem. Now that she had a better view of her gemstone, it was clear to her that this mysterious gem was probably a peridot, but alas, it seems that she had rebelled against the Diamonds. A memory of the day her owner was shattered by the nefarious rebels flashed in her mind, and her eyebrows furrowed.
"Who are you," she demanded, tears starting to form in her left eye. The memory left a bad taste in her head, and once again, her grief was starting to trigger.
When the Peridot was going to "introduce" herself with the spikes, where she was not supposed to care... she cared now, the tears she saw trigerred something else, the cold mood changed to an emontional mood gradually. "No, not you, not again!" she proclaimed to herself... "I won't hurt anyone here, let me OUT!",she started to cry, and tell to the Pearl she had no intentions to hurt her or this island and it's very sorry for what may have done while was "Cold-Hearted", then she asked to the pearl what's the problem, said things like we'll find a way to fix this situation, and i want to know you more, and sorry for threatening you. Would this work out?
The slender gem was met with only pure confusion in the peridot's words. All that she spoke seemed like nonsense to her, and perhaps, she was even insane. Without saying a word, Green Pearl backed up. She had never met this gem before, and now, the green gem is apologizing for no apparent reason. She had not done wrong to her, it was only a trigger a grief that caused her to almost break down crying. The servant considered fleeing the scene, with her probably being a rebel. If found by someone more capable of combat, she would be shattered immediately. Despite the peridot claiming that she does not intend to hurt the pearl, her outbursts and strange behavior said otherwise. "I'm sorry," she told the gem. "I do not think I can trust you." The gem looked behind her back. Leaving was still an option, but she felt compelled by the peridot's peculiar behavior to stay.
"PR!' Peridot said, finally introducing herself, then said that doesn't matter if Pearl trusted or not in her, that she would still be there to help with her Healing Spikes if needed, but for now PR would be researching without hurting anyone, checking before piercing the Forest with the Spikes. PR barely knew the Pearl but already was feeling something about what they could have in common. But when PR got deep in the woods, she got lost easily, but didn't give up about founding what she heard on the ocean. She started to wonder if was she did was right, if the reason of the Pearl don't want her around is because she's just shy, and how would be an fusion between them. Until she realizes she got lost for good. "Oh boy..."
Giving a nod of respect, the pearl let the name resound in her head. PR. A strange name for a peridot, but it was to be expected. She had discovered the rebels often gave themselves 'nicknames' other than the ones they were assigned with at creation. For example, a rebelling jasper was once simply referred to as 'J'. It was a strange Earthen practice, one Green Pearl did not understand the purpose of. "I am simply a Pearl," she introduced herself. "I serve an emerald..." A tear fell from the gem's eye, landing on the ground. Not realizing that PR had left to another part of an island, she began to weep, remembering Emerald being shattered all that time ago. The pearl lied down on the ground, and then she started to murmur, with some words she said being unintelligible. "...gone...shattered...rebels..."
PR don't forgetting the meaning of her name, fell on a small fissure, then stood up again, never giving up. The sound echoed again "Where's it!? , she said, but soon she noticed that doesn't matter where she go, the sound would be the same. The conclusion was obvious, she was hearing hallucinating sounds. "Oh! C'mon!" , at least she found something awesome on the island, and someone too, but where would they be? The flower is missing, so do the Pearl, then PR uses an last resort, she shoots the Spikes to the skies and maintain that way to Pearl find her, until she can't maintain the Spikes on the skies anymore. "Please, I just wanna... help""I don't know how much i can..." 'Take..." ,The mood slowly turns back to an cold mood as long as she wait.
Looking up at the sky, Green Pearl could see a flash of a structure through her blurry tears before they disappeared all of a sudden. She got back up on her feet, and wiped her eye with her sleeve. Blinking, she let herself calm down before she went to investigate... again. Whenever it came from PR or something else was unknown, but being a scientist's pearl, she knew she must investigate it. Navigating through the forest on Mask Island, she searched for the peridot she deemed to be insane, hoping to find a clue on her whereabouts. The indigo flower she wanted to visit previously was not her top priority right now, PR seemed to be a much more interesting subject to her.
Eventually, the pale being caught a flash of white in the corner of her eye. Turning her head, she saw the peridot walking, seemingly minding her own business. Not wishing to engage with her, Green Pearl dashed behind one of the towering trees on the island, hoping to see what the green-skinned gem will do.
Immediately she pierced through the tree with her right shoulder spike. "No... More" she slowly said while the tree was growing more than the usual. Then she decided to leave the Mask Island because the only rational living thing was there, and she realized she have been hurting her a lot without wanting, PR gazed on Pearl's Gem for an while. "I'm sorry, but i have to go now" she said, but actually didn't have to go, just didn't wanted to hurt her anymore, even knowing that if she went back to the ocean, sometime she would turn back at an cold-hearted being, but wanted to be cold without hurting the one she got attached to, and too quickly, would it be for the best?
"Wait." Lifting her right arm, she reached out to a nearby vine to control. Once she got a grip on the long flora's essence, she thrust her hand out, attempting to catch PR with the vine she took control of. With a narrow eye, she grimly questioned the peridot, "What do those spikes do." It seemed so strange that with one puncture, the spikes present on the gem's shoulders could make a considerably larger tree grow to an impressive height. It was comparable to her own ability to control plants and make them grow, but the spikes did not seem like a gem weapon. To her, they appeared to be more like technology. Peridots were always equipped with gem tech, but she had never seen any inventions like the structures present on PR's body.
"Did the... pain stop? Can i stay now?" she confused said it. After the question, PR said how it took some years to develop some Healing Substance similar to the Rose Quartz's ones. But did not stop there, after explaining, excited, she said how was embarrassing to think of fusing with her and that her alterego would hate even thinking about it, laughing with a big smile while saying all that stuff. PR just wanted to have some fun now that she's "finally back", so she started jumping and running while laughing, just hoping the memories don't flood back, she just wanted to have fun at all. "Pearl, would you..." "Starts blushing but smiling" "Dance with me?". Hoping to not get more embarrassed than that, PR close her eyes for a moment.
She listened intently to PR's explanation on how the spikes on her shoulders worked, and was rather intrigued by it. However, the peridot's request only made Pearl fume with anger. "Dancing? Why would I want to dance with you?" She clenched a fist, causing the vines wrapped around the gem's leg to get tighter. "Do the rebels think that the only way to win is fusing?" she told herself, anger evident in her voice. A low growl bubbled in her throat, although she tried her best to suppress it. Green Pearl strolled up to PR, scowling as she kept her arm raised. Her fist relaxed, which quickly loosened the ensnarement. It was starting to hurt either way. With a cold glare, she announced, "I do not want to be involved in such a disgraceful act."
