Sulfur wandered through the kindergarten. He dragged his blades behind him, listening to the scraping noises they made so that he didn't have to hear his ears ring. He looked up occasionally at the drills. When he wanted to be alone with his thoughts he liked to come here, this was a place of birth and death. That is, birth of a gem and death of the earth. As he walked he finally came to a large rock and leapt onto it and sat down.
After sitting still for a while Sulfur started humming under his breath as he thought about recent events. He had been wandering the desert fighting corrupted beasts for weeks. As he thought about it he realized he had been sort of numbed in the brain during those weeks. It was as if he had been asleep. Now that he had stopped to think all of his guilt crept up on him. Everyone he had met had vanished, but worst of all he had no idea who he was or what he was to do. Emerald, his former lover, had been exposed to be false, and she had been who he wanted to avenge. Now why would he fight? He knew he had to fight, but at this point, why could he?
He looked at the sky as he continued thinking. He had no reason to be in one piece, after all he had done to his acquaintances, some of which might have been friends. For one who didn't know what a friend was he felt like he had something dangled in front of him and lost it. The worst part was that he didn't know what that something was! All he knew was that no matter how many times he reran the events in his mind he couldn't imagine a new outcome, because the events were so mysterious. He needed a pie.
