Azurite had become a bit bored from just wandering beach city, She stepped onto the warp pad and activated it without thinking of her destination making a sort of russian-roulette game with the warp pad. She travelled through the warp beam and eventually arrived at the mystery destination and opened her eyes to see what looked like a beach, but as she looked around it became apparent that it was rather small.
She walked across the shoreline stopping to gaze and interact at what looked interesting to her, which was almost everything on the island. After she had walked for around one hour she saw that it was an island, and no one seemed to be there at the moment. Right now she seemed to have an entire island to herself, but she wasn't sure how to spend her time on the isolated location.
As she was thinking this she spotted something moving in the sand, it appeared red. She walked over to it and with a lot of confusion and interest she determined that it was alive. It had a hard shell with eight legs with giant claws at the front of it, to her it looked harmless enough and decided to watch it as it looked at her with the same amount of confusion.
Green Pearl's day started out as a peaceful one. From within the cave she resided in, she watched the trees move with the gentle breeze lifting across Mask Island today. Sitting on the cold, hard ground, she started to hum a familiar tune. Music was a rarity, and this song in particular was the only one she had ever heard. The pearl starting to think about the first time she had heard this tune. It was on Homeworld, while she was out and about with her old master. A group of pearls were singing to their masters as well, all aristocrats. Her expression deepened as she then thought about her master, Emerald. She turned her head next to her, and opened her mouth to say something. Alas, she remembered what happened. Emerald had been shattered.
A tear fell from her eye. Then she broke out into sobs. For minutes, this is what she did, daily. As soon as she got control of herself again, Green Pearl looked out at the island. From what she could see on the beaches, it appeared as if something unusual was moving down there. It was not something she normally saw on the island. Fear rose within her. What if it was another rebel? Should she go investigate? The gem stepped out of the cave, letting sunlight hit her form. Perhaps this was a safe distance to observe the events on the beach.
Azurite heard what sounded like sobbing but couldn't be sure since it was far away so she looked around trying to find the source of the distant noise. After looking around for a bit she saw a tall slender green figure, it blended in with the green plants surrounding them so she couldn't be sure if it was a gem. She wasn't sure if she should run, hide, shout out to it or resume with her exploration, after all she wasn't even sure if this was a gem or not. If it was a gem she would run the risk of scaring her away but if she yelled at a plant she would feel like an idiot.
"Hey, who are you? Are you a gem?" She shouted clearly and a bit slowly at the maybe gem maybe plant so to make sure she or it could hear her. She stood waiting for a reply, either that or silence and crushing embarrassment. Azurite prepared to summon her weapon, just in case it was a hostile gem but she didn't summon the weapon because if it wasn't a hostile gem she ran the risk of scaring her away and making herself coming across as the hostile gem and maybe she was a home world gem, her owner might be nearby with more home world gems. She started to regret shouting at the gem, maybe she should have gone for a less loud approach.
Green Pearl continued to watch the figure on the beach that stretched out in front of her. Moments later, the figure disappeared...deeper into the dim jungle that covered most of Mask Island. She bit her lip. Where was it going? All she could do now was wait for something to happen. As she sat on the ledge in silence, a loud voice, talking in the form of a question rung through the air. "Are you a gem?" was the question she heard. The pearl lifted her head with a gasp, looking around for who called. She stood up, and looked down below. There, among the trees, was a tall, pale blue figure. Maybe even the same on she saw on the beach. She could not see much of it, but assuming from its question, this was probably a gem as well.
"Yes, I am a gem," she replied. Pearl started to make her way down to the jungle, taking extra precautions to make sure she got down to the forest floor safely. She was curious to see who dared interrupt the peace and quiet on the island, but what could she say? By all she could know, this gem could be another rebel.
Letting her flats touch the soft green grass, she could see the gem more clearly. She wore a sleeveless blue top with darker shorts and shoes. Her puffy dark hair was held up with a tie, and freckles dotted her blue skin. She wore gloves, but what caught her eye was the star cut-out on one of them, revealing the gem on her hand. That was the only clue she needed to tell the green gem that this blue gem was indeed, a rebel. She had seen it on several rebels beforehand. What diplomacy could she try to achieve?
Nonetheless, it was worth a try. From a distance, she politely asked, "May I ask for your name?"
She took a step back as she saw the figure approaching, it wasn't a leaf at all and by the fact it had a slender green body and had a pointed nose she could safely assume this was a gem, from what she saw Azurite could go as far to identify the gem type, though she hadn't seen many from her time on home world she identified her as a pearl. It was growing closer and closer and now that she could see her even more clearly the gem was almost certainly she was a pearl.
Paired with the fact that the pearl had confirmed she was in fact, a pearl her curiosity was put to rest. She heard her question and paused for a second, what if she was from home world? Azurite couldn't see any star on her clothing but the star mark of the rebels wasn't needed to be a rebel it was more of a preference for easy identification to lessen confusion between the two sides. Nevertheless she wouldn't get anywhere with silence. "I'm Azurite! Are you a pearl?" Due to the distance between them she was speaking a bit louder.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
